I would just like to add my support to the wl contact suggestion. Adding a generic string value would work very well for my guild, allowing a robust selection of information to be attached

    wl contact "some string"

    Where some string could be:
    a phone number
    alternative vent info
    alt characters
    afk time ranges
    anything else handy

My guild really doesn't give a damn what you do, no need to punish people for not playing, so if we can find you in a timely manor is all that matters. This would be perfect for us.

I think this makes the AFK suggestion pointless.

Lastly, in response to the bidding support comment:
I am currently looking for a generic bidding/loot request system. We use loot council, so we are just looking to see if anyone has a functional system right now, or if we have to build it. See my post here if you have input/interest.

Yeah, I'll post my findings up here.

Right now my guild is looking at developing a generic loot tell/reporting addon. I am just trying to skip the reinvention of the wheel sort of thing here if possible.

I'll have a look at that later when I get back into town. If nothing else I might be able to scab some code off of it. (o:

Anyone else know of any 'generic loot interest' addons similar to this, but uptodate?

No biggie. I could get rid of the minimap button and put the icon on a broker display with Fubar2Broker, but that would mean installing an additional addon just to move a button. Kinda overkill. :D So your addon gets a premium position on my screen as the only minimap button left in my UI.

But anyway, I suggest taking a closer look at the many nice broker addons and displays out there. It's not just FuBar anymore.

I am particularity fond of StatBlock as a broker addon. In the mean time try out MBB, Minimap Button Bag, to solve your minimap button problems. It works great but is a little rusty and in need of a new manager/write soon.

I think you are exactly right on this one. I have 3 chat frames. So with no mods on I get 3 responses. When prat on I get 6, prat probably adds a 'virtual' frame for each 'real' frame to do its business. I'll mention this to my raid admins and they can work around the bug without too much spam for the time being.

Thanks for the screenshot. That was very helpful. I experienced something like this during development and thought I squashed the bug. Essentially, what is occurring is that as a new raid begins, the addon is hooking a whisper event filter into the Blizzard chat handler. When a raid ends, it removes the hook. If the behavior above is occurring, the removal isn't occurring and it is adding additional hooks as each new raid starts (each hook adds an additional handler). This is bad. I'll try to see if I can pinpoint it and release a fix this coming week. Do you have other addons installed that manipulate the chat frame or whispers?

The wl tag was chosen because some of the prior wait list addons used that abbreviation and it is shorthand for wait list. Otherwise, there is no rhyme or reason to the keyword. I can look into making this keyword configurable.

I do have some chat mod stuff (prat 3.0). I turned every addon off except for headcount and I still got this problem. However, instead of 6 replies I got 3.

I did test this with only one raid in headcount, the active one. I got the same result. From what you were saying there should only be one hook per raid, right?

    As the subject notes:
I am looking for a loot helper addon designed for a loot council system.

    key functionality required includes:
    - The ability to take tells for a piece of loot and compile them
    - Publish the complied tells for a piece of loot to a channel, /o

    Secondary functionality required includes:
    - Sorting of main spec/off spec tells
    - Private voting system for officers
    - assisted distribution of loot

Anything out there down these lines? There seems to be a lot of DKP stuff out there but I haven't found anything that I can adapt or that deals with trying to speed up loot tell gathering and publication for officers to make their decisions (which are generally quite easy and fast)

The mod is responding to each whisper based on the player who sent the message. I wasn't able to see the mod attempting to add each player multiple times. It will attempt to add the player multiple times if they send the whisper "wl add" multiple times, but they will get the messages:

This is what we (me and the other loot admins in my guild are experiencing):

As you can see there is one tell that generates several responces from the system that are not all identical. I have some mods turned on in this screen shot, however, when I tested it with no mods turned on except headcount and only one raid (active or otherwise) in the data I still generated extra responses. It might be worth noting that only 3 were generated with all mods turned off and 6 are generated with my mods turned on.

This behavior is consistent for me. It will happen for every command that is sent (add/remove) by any person and 6 responses are generated with mods on, 3 without.

    2. Can you elaborate on a configurable keyword list? I understand non-English speaking users may not want english keywords, but is there something else you are referring to?

I would really like the ability to set the keyword for inviting from the configuration menu. Currently the 'wl add' keyword is very unintuitive feeling since lower case L and upper case I both look like the same keystroke in many fonts. Also, god forbid some punk that gets g-kicked decides to screw with my wait list every night cause he knows the keyword. Either way, it would be great if I could just set the keyword from the menu and it should solve any localization problems you have too. (o:

    3. I can add a chat frame info notice whenever someone is added to the wait list only if this is helpful. I'd prefer to add this as a configuration option because otherwise I imagine it may confuse people why the addon is spamming the normal chat frame with non-chat messages.

That would be prefect. I personally want the system to tell me when it's working, others may not.

Thanks for the long awaited waitlist upgrade!

    A couple notes:
    1) Bug - the mod is trying to add/remove players numerous times resulting in big time spam when using the keyword system. However, the list is still functional.
    2) Request - Can we have an option to set our own keywords? Or keyword list?
    3) Request - Chat frame confirmation when there is a change to the wait list. Just have a simple message letting me know who is adding/removing themselves
    4) Question - What are the current keywords that will work for inviting? Seems to me my guildies added themselves to the wait list somehow without typing the exact keyword "wl add'

    Thanks again,
    Decima

posted a message on Prat 3.0 Chat Mod Framework
I've been having a lot of issues with some kind of conflict between the new deadly boss mods (3.3 and 4.0 core both) and prat. It seems the DBM announces are causing prat to produce an error everytime DMB sends an announcement to the chat frame during a fight. The 'raid warning' announcements that DBM produces shows up on my screen properly but does not show up in the chat log and a prat related error is generated every time an announcement is pushed to the chat frame.

Is this a known issue? If not, do you need more data?

posted a message on MBB and Cartographer -- Stack overflow errors
I have noticed that MinimapButtonBag has a stack overflow error (line 417) when cartographer is enabled as of this most recent patch.

I haven't tried updating cartographer (don't really care for it anyway). If anyone else is having stack overflow errors on line 417 with MBB it's probably a UI conflict and just check to see which addon is causing the issue and disable it.

posted a message on Showing threat done instead of damage done in combat text addons
If you just want bigger numbers go into your favorite combat text mod and multiply the values by ten. lol Big meaningless numbers! As an experienced/geared tank I can't imagine why on earth you would even care about big numbers.

I will take a moment to endorse stat blocks and the TPS block they have developed. It's really an amazingly lightweight and functional addon. Kudos to them.

posted a message on LF custom channel bot addon
    Hey guys,
I am forming a pugging organization on Deathwing US and we are encountering some unique problems with communication. We have a custom chat channel in game but we have no means to consistently moderate it.

So I am looking for an addon that would run on a 'bot' and accept command whispers from people on it's friend's list. Stuff like "/w thebot !moderate Decima" To give myself moderation privileges in the channel ect.

If anyone has ever heard of an addon like this I would love to hear about it, else we'll have to develope something ourselves I guess. This is basically the equivalent of an IRC bot in short.

    Cheers,
    Decima

BTW, you can check us out at pugzug.com although not much information is posted there yet.

All of them are working fine for me...

After leaving the issue sit while I worked on the rest of my UI, it started working. At the time (of my OP) I think SB was almost the only mod running. I tried turning my other mods off and I can't reproduce the behavior anymore. I guess we'll just blame a ghost in the system. (o:

On a side note: I would like to request a global label color changer.

SB is a great UI, I love it already, after having used titan and fubar extensively.
