    posted a message on Baggins - Official Thread
    First, I want to say that this is truly the best bag addon I've ever used, that fits my style of play and organization (used to be a big fan of EngBags / ArkInventory until I found Baggins). Really well done!

    Now for a couple of suggestions:

    I second Ironhand's request for a solution to the problem of trading when "compress all" stacks is on.

    Also, since I have multiple characters, I've found that while I have a different bag configuration for each one (mostly due to tradeskill and class item differences), I also have many categories that I end up duplicating for each toon. So I end up using a different profile for every character to have custom bags, but it would be great if there was some way to share categories across profiles... either by having categories be profile-independent, or at least by being able to copy a category from one profile to another (though a benefit of having categories be profile independent is that you'd only have to update it once and all you characters would see the change).

    Have you given any thought to something like that? Is it too far out of reach?

    Thanks!

    I'd like to request an option to have the fubar plugin do a stack instead of the works when clicked please. I'm using it with Baggins and I only need to make sure that stackable items do not take up more room than they have to, the rest is handled by Baggins.

    I'm doing the same thing you're doing... using Baggins but have MrPlow just for the stacking. I ended up just binding the Stack function to a key (numpad0) and I hit that key periodically to ensure stacked goodness. Still have to go to the menu to stack my bank, but that's not a big deal to me since it doesn't happen as much.

    I had posted a few days back about adding the bag's icon to the background of ArkInventory frame similar to EngBags. I feel this adds 2 things to the mod: 1. Its easy to visually identify bag space in special bags (soulbag, crafting bags, etc.) & 2. its just aesthetically pleasing. Here are 2 screenshots from the Curse page for EngBags. One shows off a few bags & the keyring.

    I just have to reply to this and say that what's aesthetically pleasing for some is an eyesore for others. When EngBags added this feature, I disliked it so much that I found it in the code and disabled it. To me, it just made it harder to find the items I wanted.

    So please, Arkayenro, if you add this feature, please make it optional. Thanks.

    You rock. I committed your code here, slightly modified with Babble-Zone and a bit updated from the original Consumer:

    Cool! Thanks for doing that!

    First off, I am loving this addon... truly genius.

    Second, I have a feature request... some way to copy menus from one character to another would be great. I'm finding that I'm setting up identical (or very similar) menus for many of my characters (such as the raid icon menu posted recently - great idea). As it is now, I can't even copy my character's SavedVariables file to another character, since the config in the file has the character's name as the key, so I have to go in and copy+paste from one file to the other.

    Not a huge thing, I suppose, since once it's all set up, I won't have to worry about it much (until there's some new menu I want all my characters to have). But since I'm in the process of setting it up now, I thought I'd mention it.

    Thanks!

    Hey evl,

    I really wanted Consumer to be BG aware, so I played around with it this morning until I got something that works. Haven't tested this extensively but it seems to be working well so far.

    I just defined a validate function to pass in to periodicTable:GetBest(). I also defined a compare function (which has nothing to do with BGs, but selects smaller stacks when item values are equal, just to empty bag slots quicker). I put this code above your Consumer:GetConsumable(id) function declaration:

    local validatefunc = function(bag, slot, val)
      local bg = nil
      local link = GetContainerItemLink(bag, slot)
      local bgsets = {"bandagesalterac", "bandagesarathi", "bandageswarsong", "potionhealalterac", "potionmanaalterac"}
      local value, set = periodicTable:ItemInSet(link, bgsets)

      if (MiniMapBattlefieldFrame.status == "active") then
        bg = GetRealZoneText()
      end

      if bg then
        if value then
          if string.find(set, "potion") or
          (bg == "Alterac Valley" and set == "bandagesalterac") or
          (bg == "Arathi Basin" and set == "bandagesarathi") or
          (bg == "Warsong Gulch" and set == "bandageswarsong") then
            return true
          else
            return false
          end
        end
      elseif value then
        return false
      end

      return true
    end

    local comparefunc = function(abag, aslot, aval, bbag, bslot, bval)
      if aval == bval then
        local acount = 0
        local bcount = 0
        _, acount, _, _, _ = GetContainerItemInfo(abag, aslot)
        _, bcount, _, _, _ = GetContainerItemInfo(bbag, bslot)

        return acount < bcount
      end
      return aval > bval
    end

    Then, in GetConsumable, replace this:

          local bagID, bagSlot, _ = periodicTable:GetBest(set)

    with this:

          local bagID, bagSlot, _ = periodicTable:GetBest(set, comparefunc, validatefunc)

    I just signed up on the boards here and am not too knowledgable about SVN (or lua for that matter)... and I didn't want to step on your code. But I thought I'd post this just as an example, and maybe help others get this functionality before it's officially there. :)
