@BBR: I had the same problem. In my case it was a Bartender3 action bar which was overlapping with the chat box. That said, it is obvious that just unlocking the chat window and moving it a bit upwards resolved the problem for me.

    HTH & HAND.

    Cheers, Chinkuwaila.

posted a message on Manufac: Retooled Professions
    Hiho,

I have some smaller issues with Manufac (using r23185) as well as a wish or two.

    a) enchanting menu: the name of the required rod is always red. At first glance I thought Manufac was unaware of the fact that the Runed Arcanite Rod now serves as one of the lesser rods as well, but even those enchants needing the Arcanite Rod itself are showing the name in red. Could you take a look into this please? It's not preventing me from enchanting or such, only looks a bit irritating.

    b) a localization problem (again, as usual, with German ;-)) affects the "Create 1" entry. Would it be possible to change the text for this menu entry to something with a matching pattern like "Create %s" where %s gets replaced with the number? My point is that in German the order of the two "words" is inverse thus the current setup is causing a strange reading experience. ;-)

    c) I encountered just minutes ago that some of the enchants (i.e. for weapons) initially were sorted by skill level even though alphabetical sorting was enabled.

    d) another one concerning the localization again: I can't seem to be able to translate the position "Misc" into any other language. Could just be me being fat-fingered (changes made to the deDE locals are committed so you can check what I did), but I can't find the mistake.

    e) The profession buttons in my action bars keep highlighted even after the Manufac menu disappeared. A click on "close" deactivates the buttons correctly, but clicking anywhere else to close the menu doesn't.

    f) Odd thing is the positioning of the tooltip of the items in the submenus: the level 2 tooltips superpose the level 3 menus making both nearly unreadable. Disabling level 2 tooltips helps out for now but I really would love to see this repaired if possible. (BTW, level 3 tooltips appear perfectly aligned to the side of the menu, not overlapping anything.)

    EDIT:
    g) The following bug occurs when clicking "disenchant" (only after fresh UIreload or login, afterwards the menu entry seems disabled):
    Error occured in: AddOn: FuBar
    Count: 1
Message: Warning: AddOn FuBar attempted to call a forbidden function (func()) from a tainted execution path.
    Debug:
      [C]: func()
      ...face\AddOns\Manufac\libs\Dewdrop-2.0\Dewdrop-2.0.lua:476:
       ...face\AddOns\Manufac\libs\Dewdrop-2.0\Dewdrop-2.0.lua:417

Now for the wish list: could we perhaps get an option for additional sorting modes of the enchants please? At least in my "career" of an enchanter sometimes the question is "What can you enchant on $itemtype?" but in many cases the question also is "What items can you enchant (e.g.) stamina on?". Thus I would love to have the option (though I anticipate this to be very complicated) to sort it either by attribute or by item.

BTW, concerning Auctioneer: Just don't fix it unless they have a release ready and got things settled. As of now, the pricing data is unavailable again (i.e. Manufac throws bugs) with Auctioneer release 3.9.1276... :-/

The above mentioned issues are only minor ones IMO with workarounds available, thus no need to hurry too much with these. If it is any consolation, though the list grew quite long I already love your addon, don't want to use anything else. /cheers

Thanks for your work and for having a look at the issues above.
    Regards, Chinkuwaila.

Thanks Kagaro for clarifying that point. It seems to me that re-using localization strings for matching purposes is almost always not the best idea when the German language comes into play. ;-)

Let me give you an example: "Chest" in German would be "Truhe", but "Treasure Chest" is "Schatztruhe". We see here different capitalization due to the fact that a combination of nouns is in many cases (but not always) combined into one single word, as the example shows. Thus, most of the expressions can appear upper as well as lower case. The problem is that there's only one string available where I'd need two.
I'm terribly sorry that I'm only able to point out the problem but can't provide any code to fix it. :-| When the European servers are back up this afternoon I'll try to do some testing with the current version of my translation to see where there's an actual cause for concern.

Greetings, Chinkuwaila, the first "L" being an "I". ;-)

I would like to contribute to Prat by doing some translations to German, as I feel that the existing ones need some refinements. Sylvanaar said earlier:
Development on the trunk version has been frozen (other than emergency fixes) All development efforts are going into Prat 2.0.

So the problem is now: where to start? Could anyone please point me to a place where to get the 2.0 files and whither to commit the changes? Is it under http://dev.wowace.com/wowace/branches/Prat/sylvanaar/PratX or am I off target there?

    TIA, Chinkuwaila

I just added deDE localization strings to Cartographer_Treasure. As of now, everything's completely untested (will try to do so tomorrow), so please notify me of any problem you come across.

Could anyone of the authors please tell me the use of the section "Icons" in the RegisterTranslation() section? If these strings are used for regexp matching as well as menu display, problems will most likely occur due to the different capitalization.

    TIA,
    Chinkuwaila

Is there a way to get reagent counts on abilities? Specifically I'm missing my blind/flash powder count.

and I must confess that I second that. Could we pleeeaaase get this feature, somehow? /beg

    Thanks in advance,

posted a message on [Req] Update FuBar_Tracker to 2.0.1
    Hi all,

I've used FuBar_Tracker for a long time and got used to it, but sadly it didn't get updated since 2.0.1 went live, so I'd like to ask the community if someone could be so kind to make it 2.0.1 compliant? (BTW, just changing the toc to 20000 doesn't help at all.)

Please note that I'm not talking about FuBar_TrackerFu, which I got from the SVN repo; it works fine.
Ah, now that I'm talking about TrackerFu it comes to my mind that adding the features of Tracker to TrackerFu (i.e. to make it switch on/off any tracker ability) would probably be even better than just fixing the former.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Greetings, Chinkuwaila, not being able to spend more bar buttons for tracking abilities. ;-)

Same here, at least with the mining module. The notes appear outside the minimap in an area about twice the diameter of the map (as posted earlier in this thread). This effect applies to all zones, not only specific ones.
Another problem that arose after updating to r22004 today is that notes which I set myself are now randomly distributed at the top border of the map frame, with y-axis values of 0.5 to 0.7. Can anyone tell me how this might have happened? Is it connected to the change in the notes db format that Zidono mentioned?

    TIA & HAND,
    Chinkuwaila.

EDIT: comparing the cartographer.lua to the cartographer_mining.lua I noticed that the mining nodes are saved in an 8-digit format, whereas the map notes are 6-digit. Any ideas on how this happened and how to repair it?

Thanks a lot for fixing Cartographer_Mining to work with the German client. Additionally, the notes are now appearing at the correct places and are not following the player arrow on the minimap anymore. Fine! But, erm, does Cartographer intentionally display map notes _outside_ the minimap frame, or is it a bug? I'm using a revision around 21388 or so, and the area where the icons appear is about twice the diameter of the minimap. Could someone please have a look into this? Ah, and if the pink circle could please get a thinner outline (or could, even better, be made configurable), I would be grateful, too. This bright pink does indeed make the yellow spots nearly invisible (at least on _my_ screen).

    Thanks again,
    Chinkuwaila.

Someone posted some time ago that there's a problem with Cartographer_Mining when being used on a German client: Only Dark Iron and Thorium Deposits do appear as notes on the map, whereas none of the other ores do. As I too would really appreciate a fix for this behaviour, I took a look at the code to possibly be able to provide a suggestion how to "repair" it. What I found is this line which IMHO causes the problem:

    local _, _, ore, veindep = string.find(what, "([^ ]+) ([^ ]+)$")

I think that the space in the regexp matching pattern is the point to look at. As was stated in the earlier posting, the German names for the ores do not contain spaces, thus for the deDE version the removal of the space would fix it. Perhaps a different regexp just for deDE would already do it...

Just my 0.02 - I'm not really good at writing lua, so if I'm totally wrong, nvm. Just ignore me (and fix it a different way). ;-)
