Jerry's already stated pretty firmly that he will not be writing any kind of visual layout editor or layout mockup features. Honestly, I really don't think it's that hard to go "okay, I just checked Debuff Type: Poison to show on the Frame Border indicator" and use your imagination to envision a green border around the frame. About the only things I see any kind of need for advance viewing of are icon size and corner size... but even those you can easily test by temporarily assigning a self-buff to those indicators and applying the buff, and if you forget to do this, they take about 5 seconds to change, which means you have plenty of time to change them while you're drinking if you don't like their current size. If you absolutely can't imagine what a bright green border or a big icon in the middle of the frame looks like, just queue up for AV.

Oh neither do I, I was just throwing ideas out since there were requests on how to configure Grid2 without having the menu structure as it currently is in Grid. I actually don't mind the current menu structure as all :)

I've been thinking about how one might configure Grid2 as I've been reading this thread. This has just occured to me and might have some fairly good sized holes in it but at it's core you are configuring a lot of little squares. In regards to the configuration the squares are identical, they can be seen as copies of one another from the configuration. So, why not have the configuration just show one (much larger than usual) square in the center of the screen?

Maybe have buttons along the top to select the "layer" for example, "text/icons", "indicator" and perhaps "alpha". You'd have to squeeze the HP bar in there somewhere but that shouldn't be too bad, perhaps that instead of alpha. Anyway, based on which layer you're on, you can right click to configure some aspect of that layer. For example of you were on the indicator layer then you could click on the corners and have a menu open for configuration of that indicator. If you select and indicator that's already bound to another corner (or anything really) pop a warning. Actually, you could even pop a separate window when they click on an indicator position and have add and remove buttons. Pressing Add shows you all the indicators you could bind to that particular indicator and their color, and you could set the priority. This would also give a nice concise overview of all the indicators currently bound to the corner you clicked on

At the text layer you'd obviously want to be able to select how many text lines to have, and maybe even drag them as separate frames within the grid square itself, so those that want to squeeze in 3 text lines could do so but those that only want one could have is dead in the center. Same add/remove window to add text labels and priorities.

The more I think about this the more I think you'd need more layers and obviously the more you have the more confusing it gets. Anyway, just some random thoughts.

Obviously this only shows the configuration of the grid squares themselves so it may still require a menu to configure some of the other options like when to show Grid2 etc

well, maybe i'm mistaken about the size of the needed count here. i know others have complained about this issue when the needed count was in the brackets. it looked fine for me, but other people had issues with it not displaying properly. i presumed it was a font issue since people often customize their fonts with differnt skinning type mods... never done it myself, tho.

I get the same thing as this, perhaps as well as making it wider you could also do something with the tooltip so mousing over the each item gives you a tooltip with how many etc?

posted a message on Chatter- Ace3 chat mod (was Chatterbox)
Firstly, this is very nice, I used Prat for a long time and it did everything I wanted but it was, well, big, and that made it somewhat hard to make it do what you wanted it too, even though you knew it could do it.

There seems to be a few people asking about changing the way playernames are displayed. Personally I like [<level>:<name>:<altname>:<groupno>] (does chatter do group number in a raid?). Would it be possible to have some customisation of that, perhaps a simple as a blank link in the config for it where you can put the above keywords and seperators etc that you want?

Great mod by the way, and thanks

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, read through a few pages but didn't want to trudge through 27 pages just to check so here it is. Would it be possible to queue , on a blacksmith/miner, for example all the ore smelting and then, because it knows you're going to have the ore available queue items to make stuff with those new bars in the same queue? I guess it's two parts, the first is linking the queue windows between skills and the second is including the items above the current one in the queue to see if they will yield materials that are required.

    Thanks

Not specifically related to ClosetGnome, but is there any chance of getting support added to ClosetGnome_Mount for Crusader Aura? Like auto switching the aura when you mount and switching back to your old aura on dismount?

I know there are macros for it but they all require two button presses since Summon Charger and aura switching both use the global cooldown.

    Thanks

This is not an issue that I can avoid, and all mail-related addons, Postal, CT_MailMod, OpenAll, BetterInbox, BulkMail2Inbox, etc are all affected.

Basically, the minimap mail icon that informs that you have new mail is triggered on the UPDATE_PENDING_MAIL event, which doesn't fire reliably when you close the mailbox. Upon the event firing, all the default UI code checks is whether HasNewMail() is true or false and display or hide the button accordingly.

I suppose I could add in something to manually hide that button, I'll poke around and see if I can find anything reliable or consistent. Note that HasNewMail() is different from GetInboxNumItems(). One returns whether you have new mail (you can have 20 mail in your mailbox and all of them are read, so you have no new mail), and the other simply tells you how many mail items you have.

I had a feeling you'd say something like that as I vaguely recall seeing the same thing with CT_Mail a long long time ago when I used that. Anything you could do would be awesome but obviously having the events fire when they should would be better, go Blizz ;)

posted a message on Postal (was GMail2): Updated
    Hi

When using Open all it sometimes doesn't clear the new mail notification icon. I had a quick look through the thread but didn't see it mentioned but I've had the issue for a good while now and have always thought it was tied to a mix of addons I have but now I've added Postal to a friends system that's almost completely devoid of other addons and they see the same behavior. No errors in Bugsack, just a new mail icon without actually having any new mail (or any mail at all).

    Thanks

This has been mentioned a few times. If you cast prayer of mending on a warrior and it hops to the mage, and then look at the combat log, it would say that the warrior healed the mage.

I thought as much, is that likely to change with the 2.4 changes?

It seems that currently Prayer of Mending attributes it's 2nd-5th bounces to the players they bounced from rather than the healer that cast them. Is there anyway to know who cast them and attribute the HP's healed to that healer? Or is this a limitation of Wow's combat log not reporting or remembering the original caster?
