posted a message on Dkp earned per hour. How much is enough?
Our system uses an EPGP system. The beauty of EPGP is that with gear prices (GP) being relational to the earned points (EP) you really don't care how many points you give out for anything. Everything is normalized over time through the inverse of GP as well as the decay.

That is the main thing you have to utilize is the DECAY for both EP and GP in your system...as not doing it frequently enough gives some high numbers and the people winning loot will never normalize back into range to get more loot.

We currently utilize a 10% decay for 25-man raids and recently started ZA and Kara into the system as we were having too many issues with just /random loot and a council-based system. With 10-mans I've been decaying 10% every 3 days which is roughly a 4% decay...but will probably increase that to 5% each day...as most of our 10-man raids are 50% of the costs.

As to what your points are, the GP costs are built into the system, so you don't have to worry about those. I try to make 25-man raids give out 100 points per run...so depending on what you're clearing at the time, price boss kills accordingly and then make up the difference over time. For us we give out 15 points per hour as most of our raids are 3 hours. I also give an on-time (25 points) bonus as well as a crusader bonus (staying the entire raid - 10 points)...and a few other bonuses. Again, with an EPGP system and gear being relational, you can add as many or as little points as you want and not have to worry about inflation or anything else with the built-in decay.

No, but it's not my addon, and it's not my issue to fix. Plus, I already have my own addon that does the same thing and a bit more -- I'm not interested in maintaining two of the same addon. I've linked my own addon in this thread as it will meet the needs of anyone trying to use AnkhTimerFu, and is not broken. If you want to use an old version of AnkhTimerFu instead, that's up to you, but I'm not going to spend time fixing it for you. :P

Wasn't asking you to fix it or stating anything along those lines...just stating creating the SVN folder wasn't necessarily a "fix" to the problem...

Xinhuan...one of the main reasons for using FuBar (at least for myself) is to minimize the number of buttons in my action bar, hehehe...although good tip!

Create a folder called ".svn" and put it inside the addon's folder. Then ensure that WAU is set to ignore SVN working copies, and it will never update that addon again.

That's a work-around, but it doesn't fix the underlying issue...

For the last week I've been getting the following error:

Error: Cannot find a library instance of Crayon-2.0.
    AddOn: FuBar_AnkhTimerFu
    File: AnkhTimerFu.lua
    Line: 8
    Count: 1

Anybody else having issues? I've done a fresh install and still nothing. Last working version I have is 26541

Changing the embeds.xml Crayon line to:

    <Script file="libs\Crayon\Crayon-2.0.lua"/>

    instead of

    <Script file="libs\Crayon-2.0\Crayon-2.0.lua"/>

    fixes the issue...

Since last Update (rev +52933.1) i get an Error: "BigWigs\Libs\Sink-1.0\Sink-1.0.lua:259:attempt to compare nil with number"

Any Idea what i can do?

Ditto...think the only thing to do is revert to an older version or wait for an update. Getting it on several addons (Omen, Fubar_TopScoreFu, etc.)...

Sorry, didn't realize DKPMon tracked loot as well in the database...just never got to exporting the data since we moved into Guild Launch's site.

Eraslin, the Guild Launch modified CTRT version can be found here: http://support.guildlaunch.com/guild/library/535/ct-raidtracker-GuildLaunchModded-CURRENT.zip?gid=535

I'm not exactly sure what parameters they've changed to allow the export function to work with their site but you can probably compare the two DKP export strings to figure that out...

Perhaps HoB's formulae could be altered to use the exact EPGP standard, for those that desire it.

I actually utilize ItemLevelDKP for pricing. I've modified the formulae so it conforms to the EPGP pricing scheme since I like that better and have renamed the addon for my guild so WoWAce Updater does not overwrite it whenever it gets updated, hehehe...

Hob's could also be used but up until recently it had not been updated in MONTHS so I didn't want to use it for fear of it suddenly breaking...

With the new implementation of a minimum base GP much of the decaying problems are resolved...when will the next version support this?

Basically a guild sets a minimum GP which is NON-DECAYING for the tiered instance they are on. We currently are going to implement a 100 base GP as of today. What this means is new people and people under 100 GP have a "virtual" GP of 100...so somebody with 90 GP and 100 GP both have the same GP.

What this does is normalizes new people entering the guild as well as new guilds implementing the features. EVERYBODY basically starts off with x/100 priority...so those who attend more are more likely to get items over somebody new in the guild who just attended one raid and has 100+ priority.

It also alleviates the problem if GP going under 1 and auto-inflating priority.

    _________________________________________________

In regards to DkDrunk's comment, you would probably have to work with the Guild Launch folks to come up with a set way to export the points; however, since DKPMon does not track LOOT I still find Guild Launch's modified CTRT better in this regard. Also, the new export feature Guild Launch is releasing today allows you to set the format to export your values...which can then be imported into DKPMon_CSV and imported for your raids. I've personally be alpha testing the export feature for a few weeks now and it makes things INCREDIBLY easier.

This is how we utilize EPGP in our guild:

      1. Raid Leaders are running DKPMon, DKPMon_EPGP, DKPMon_CSV and Guild Launch's modified CTRT.
      2. EVERYBODY is running Bidder and Bidder_EPGP
      3. Prior to a raid, we export the points off Guild Launch's site into DKPMon_CSV. This is then imported in game.
      4. Run the raid using DKPMon/Bidder to record bids.
      5. Once the raid is over, we upload the CTRT DKP String to Guild Launch and set up the other rewards and whatnot.

Although a bit cumbersome at first, I now have things down to 5 minutes preparation before a raid and about 15 minutes after a raid to get things set up. We also use WWS Stats pages so I can verify who was at each attempt and gets hourly rewards and bosskills...so that serves as my "backup" in case the game crashes or whatnot and the lua files get screwed up, hehehe. The points are imported at the beginning of each raid so they're in synch with the website...this prevents having to do any alt-tabbing out of the game to look up points.

Is there anyway that we can get an in game GUI for entering base point values? I've spent a couple of hours looking at your directions, following them, and then not having them work. I'd love to get my guild to use this for loot, but it just doesn't seem fully functional to me.

Honestly, the CSV import is probably the easiest thing to use that I could have coded. You just do a couple of things, and bam, your database is in place.

    1) Install the addon -- DKPmon_CSV
    2) Write out your points database in CSV format.
    3) Convert said CSV table of point values into an lua table of strings (one string per CSV line), and put said table in importdata.lua of the DKPmon_CSV addon.
    4) Use the in-game menu to import the CSV data.

For example. I have a small database with two point pools and 4 people in it:
    Warchick, L70 Night Elf Warrior, pool 1 points = 5, pool 2 points = 0
    Magedude, L70 Gnome Mage, pool 1 points = 0, pool 2 points = 20
    Priestperson, L70 Human Priest, pool 1 points = 2, pool 2 points = -1.4
    Iwin, L70 Gnome Warlock, pool 1 points = 10, pool 2 points = 23

Converting to CSV, in the format dictated in importdata.lua (<name>:<class>:<level>:<race>:<point values>...):
    Warchick:WARRIOR:70:Night Elf:5:0
    Magedude:MAGE:70:Gnome:0:20
    Priestperson:PRIEST:70:Human:2:-1.4
    Iwin:WARLOCK:70:Gnome:10:23

Captialization is important, it's also important that there be no useless whitespace in the table, and there can't be a trailing ':' at the end of any line.

Last, convert to an lua table (ie: surround each string in quotes, and end each line with a comma) and assign to the DKPmon_CSV_Import_Data table in importdata.lua:
    DKPmon_CSV_Import_Data = {
    "Warchick:WARRIOR:70:Night Elf:5:0",
    "Magedude:MAGE:70:Gnome:0:20",
    "Priestperson:PRIEST:70:Human:2:-1.4",
    "Iwin:WARLOCK:70:Gnome:10:23",
    }

Start up your WoW game, select the CSV import option from the DKPmon Fubar menu (Import Modules -> Points database CSV import), and bam... it's done.

Yeah, after playing around with this it's the sweetest thing around. We can easily pull out the data from our EPGP system on the web and import the CSV file prior to each raid...works beautifully!

    Thanks!

    Thanks Kelem.

Not using EQDKP so it would have be done manually, hehehe...but at least gives me a place to start!

Of course, we're using an EPGP system so going to have to figure out how the data is stored that way will be the next step, hehehe...

The alternative would be to use the DKPmon_CSV addon. It allows you to both import and export your DKP database in CSV (colon-separated-values) format.

Ahhh, this sounds like it would be MUCH better! Will give it a try...thanks Eraslin!

OK, can't find this anywhere on the site or in this thread...although I will admit I didn't read all 17 pages diligently, hehehe...

We have an existing points system...how can I "seed" the addon with the existing points without inviting the people into the raid? I cannot find any "add to database" option for individuals in the guild...is there a command line option to do this or is it even possible?

BTW, since I have your attention...how do I input price values? Do I just edit the custom.lua file and fill it in with the item name and price?

Most EPGP systems use a fixed GP price based upon the itemlevel, slot, and rarity (http://code.google.com/p/epgp/wiki/WhatIsEPGP_v2) so are there ways to implement that as the cost in the addon? Another way could be to use ItemLevelDKP's prices and just refer to that addon...although I've been modifying my ItemLevelDKP LUA towards the actual GP formula above, hehehe.

Thanks again! Appreciate the work and addon!
