As for white items, let's use the example you gave. Shiny Fish Scales are actually useful to Shamans, there are so many useful items which are also white, unlike grey items where they're almost entirely useless except for the incredibly rare exception (such as the Darkmoon Faire hand-ins).
I understand that there are a TON of white items that have usefullness, I have a shaman alt also, and on that character shiny fish scales are not autosold. With setting white qual items to auto sell you have to mark quite a few to not autosell (things like your water, food, reagents, etc). Obviously you can't do that without an in game user modifiable list. But I have no problems with you staying away from lists! It just doesn't work for me is all :D
[edit] but I don't really see the need to change from GarbageFu to two other mods until GarbageFu breaks. Apparently I'm getting old and getting into the 'change is bad' mindset. Which is unfortunate :X If Junkie did exactly what I use GarbageFu for I would probably make the change simply because its maintained. But replacing one *mostly* functional mod with two is maybe too much for me right now. I can say that Junkie would probably work for everyone in my guild that uses GarbageFu because I don't think any of them use it like I do with white qual items!
[edit2, gah]
SellOut + Junkie = the desired result without bloating mods.
This doesn't quite work, but is very close. All it is missing is showing unwanted white qual items in the junk list to destroy if they are the items with the least worth.
Finally! I want to say I really really have no problem with your outlook for Junkie and I really am glad that I'll have something to turn to in the future.
Hmm I have to admit, I use GarbageFu with the autosell threshhold set to white items. I have the ones that I want to keep marked as such. This lets me dump things like Shiny Fish Scales and other useless-to-that-character stuff. It is nice to know that there is a very similar replacement though on the day that GarbageFu finally dies. I really like the ability to click and destroy the item of least monetary worth in my bags. Although I'll miss that item being Fish Oil!
from WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY earlier in this thread and from the author regarding dogtags:
DogTag is a tag compiler that produces and handles strings for unitids.
TagCompiler is a tag compiler that determines strings, raw values or numeric values for a generic set of data. It does not handle updating strings. I had to write this, because Aloft does not have unitids to work with, so cannot use DogTag.
Commit by ammo :: r79887 ClassColoredNameplates/ClassColoredNameplates.lua:
ClassColoredNameplates: only scan for nameplates when worldframe children change, cache plates
Which made me hope that maybe ammo was working on a replacement of some sort. The main thing I use this mod for is to color the nameplates by class (okay well and I changed their texture and removed their border, but I can live with them not being 'pretty')
Well I hate to tell you this, but I just checked and I'm using different fubar profiles and my garbagefu has different keep/drop lists etc for each one.
For some reason I thought I had different settings with different characters here...I thought for sure my shaman kept fish scales/oil while other characters tossed em.
Maybe its based on the fubar profile you are using? my characters use different fubar profiles.
[edit] or maybe I'm hallucinating, will check after work
It doesn't come with a database however. I believe there was a thread with a some quest databases... Fortunately some guildies and I were all running it, and since the data is shareable, my database was filled up with all I needed pretty quickly.
It was pretty great that you could open up your map and see everything you needed to do in the zone with no effort at all.
oh wait, I guess someone could toggle it back on while in an instance?
but if thats going on and its something you don't want going on, maybe you should just kick that person from the raid since they are just making trouble on purpose.
This addon really isn't necessary anymore anyway... when you zone into an instance now you unflag automatically and immediately - Which is really handy and I can't seem to actually find in the patch notes.
