posted a message on Extreme slowdown and unitBuff/unitDebuff
With 3.0.2 I've experienced a pretty substantial loss in FPS. When 3.0.2 came out I nuked my Interface/Addons directory but kept my Cache and WTF folders intact.

My system is composed of - AMD X2 AM2 3800+ oc'd to 2.3 GHz, 4 GB of DDR2-800 ram, BFG 8800 GT, playing at 1920x1200 resolution on WinXP. I've gone through the NVidia console to disable any sort of anti-aliasing and to run in performance mode.

    I use:
    openRDX for raid frames
    Parrot
    EBB
Pitbull for player, target, focus, ToT, focus target, pet, pet target frames
    BT4
    Chatter
    DotTimers
    Examiner
    Autobar
    Capping
    and a few others

I've updated most of these about a week ago at the latest. Before 3.0.2 came out I would experience slowdown in heavy particle fights (a lot of ground effects, aoe, etc) where my fps would go down to around 10 fps and regularly hovered around 20-30 fps. Now, with 3.0.2 I'm at 10-15 fps all the time and go down to 5 fps when any sort of AoE is done (and at times down to 1 fps :() - this is at all the settings set to low (except Spell Detail which is set in the middle)

There was an issue with openRDX where unitBuff and unitDebuff were getting called too many times and there was a patch that was supposed to cache the unitBuff/unitDebuff calls to reduce cpu consumption.

I'm curious if there's any performance issues with any of the mods listed above where unitBuff/unitDebuff would be called too many times in a 25/40 man raid situation?

    Any suggestions will be welcomed.

It's broke because of the changes to the coinage constants need to change then to have _AMOUNT in the name (i.e. GOLD_AMOUNT)

From this thread I figured you have to go through some files and append _AMOUNT to GOLD, SILVER, COPPER

I got parrot to work that way

    The files I modified were
    Parrot\Data\Loot.lua lines 78,79,80
    Parrot\libs\LibParser-4.0\LibParser-4.0.lua lines 1217, 1218, 1219

There were some other addons I modified to get working that may or may not have affected parrot... primarily SpecialEventsEmbed\SpecialEvents-Loot-1.0\SpecialEvents-Loot-1.0.lua

I don't know what would be causing this but for the different events (Spell ready, spell resist) whe I go to set a sound to occur with the text I only have 4 options from Banzai Alert. I'm used to seeing the whole list of shared media sounds.

What addon in particular would I need to be able to set the different sounds other than Auction Close; Babe; Ship Bell; and Zenham

It appears as if Parrot is still using sharedmedia 2.0 and that those sounds that I were looking for are in 3.0... I've just changed every occurance from 2.0 to 3.0 in my local working copy. I'll leave it up to Prof_Albert to decide if he wants to change the svn copy

I added this as a Supression, cuts out the Vampiric Embrace spam alltogether, whilst still allowing other HoTs to show. Makes for a much more visible ui

Something I like about the filter option over Supression is that you can set a limit on minimum values to appear. I would like to see my SW:P and VT ticks if its over 1000 or something similar to that and would only like to see direct damage spells like Mind Blast and Shadow Word: Death if they're over another value.

I really really like this mod, and there's just a quick question I have about it.

Tonight we were attempting BB but because of Hollowe'en we just didn't have the right group composition so we called it. At the end of the raid our only mage wanted to know how many times he had buffed Amplify Magic...

I was just wondering how the amount of buff's a person receives are counted. They're not in aura but with some customization could they appear there? Or do I need to create a new data set...
