Sep 21, 2009Getting the same error at login as Nandini in b2.10468.1:Posted in: General AddOns
Sep 16, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from AdirelleMikk, could you please consider making FuBarPlugin support optional and add an (also optional) LDB support ? (hmm, actually making FBP support optional could be sufficent).
Would be nice, but I don't really see it being much of a gain over just using FuBar2Broker unless Baggins gets ported to Ace3 also.
Sep 15, 2009Posted in: UpdatersQuote from essmenesometimes the detection is flawed.
E.g. the client replaced the functioning version for bookworm with the outdated one from curse which is broken / unmaintained.
But ignoring the addon on curse site and using the (old) wowi updater works great.
Don't you have to accept CC's "guess" before it replaces it? That's the whole point of it asking you to accept or reject its guess - you're supposed to verify that Curse's version isn't some weird outdated one. I've got a few addons like RedRange on ignore in CC because of that.
Sep 15, 2009Posted in: General ChatQuote from NandiniHowever, I'm having second thoughts. Now I'm concerned that readers, if exposed to this kind of lobbying frequently, will actually pay less attention to the ticketing system. They'll conclude that if something is important enough for them to look at and vote, someone will make a forum post about it.
I think getting interested people to cluster around individual issues via the ticket system is potentially a great way to help authors get a focused conversation regarding specific issues. This is (again, potentially) especially helpful for more popular addons that create a lot of forum buzz because all the noise can actually make it hard for users and/or authors to converse coherently about a specific issue (or worse, multiple unrelated issues).
Of course, it all hinges entirely around how much authors value input from the forum versus the ticket system. People will gradually flow to whichever form of input gets the most feedback and/or results for the amount of time and effort required.
Sep 15, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from laricAny chance of you sharing what I can do to get this working on the whohas/armory combo?
I love altoholic but I hate missing that feature more.
I haven't tested it (nor has Warmexx) since I've been using Altoholic as an alternative, but here's what Warmexx told me:
Sorry for the late response. WhoHas reads directly from Armory's database and therefore WhoHas needs to be adopted. I noticed that WhoHas hasn't been updated recently so to help you out you can make the following changes yourself.
Open WhoHas.lua with an text editor and insert
if (type(count) == "table") then count = count end;
at lines 783 and 795. After your change both sections should look like
if (name) then
if (type(count) == "table") then count = count end;
vault[who][tab][name] = count;
I didn't test this so please let me know if it works or not.
Sep 14, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from Thaoky@Hunterz: I saw your answer to the todolist ticket, interesting suggestions, it might take some time to implement, but definitely the kind of things I wanted to read :)
Fortunately I'm not stuck on any particular implementation, so I was just having fun thinking up and throwing out ideas.
Sep 14, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from laricIs there any chance of changing the way it stores the guild banks so it remembers on wich tab things are?
That is the only thing I am missing from my old combo possessions / whohas.
getting that would make it so much easier to find things in the guild bank.
Please vote (and comment if you feel like it) on this ticket: http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/altoholic/tickets/19-guild-bank-location
I also used WhoHas and miss the feature greatly in Altoholic. I may go back to Armory+WhoHas since the Armory author PM'd me on how to fix WhoHas to work with Armory again.
Sep 14, 2009_ForgeUser56283 posted a message on SexyMap - A tiny bundle of minimap awesomeificationPosted in: Map/Minimap AddOnsQuote from fyryeI tried it and switched to chinchilla which worked for my needs.
I actually switched from Chinchilla to SexyMap a long time ago as part of a move away from Rock-based addons.
Sep 14, 2009Posted in: Raid AddOnsQuote from fyryeWhat's the current status of the Ace3 update?
Afraid to update with all of the radical changes being made.
I've kept up with the alphas since I've stopped seriously raiding for a bit, and it's getting pretty usable again.
Sep 8, 2009Posted in: Raid AddOnsQuote from OrionShockPlease, you End Users, can we stop badgering the authors for something they have already given an answer on. If you are a coder then make one your self, you should be capable of opening the source code and figuring out how to do it.
I dunno, all the BigWigs add-on modules I have (LittleWigs, CommonAuras) are broken now lol...
