Well - go to preferences and type
C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\
in the wow directory field - including the \ at the end. Press OK.
Wow that worked, wonderful thank you very much i was almost ripping my hair out here, is that some kind of bug when it doesn't work when browsing to the location?
Oct 26, 2007I have been trying for hour and hours now to get wowaceupdater to work properly, but it seems to be impossible on this Vista Ultimate 32Bit.Posted in: Updaters
Things i've tried, installing via publish in IE, downloading the .zip package.
Cleaning out everything about WoWAceUpdater before installing.
DELETED c:\Users\***\AppData\Local\ DELETED c:\Users\***\AppData\Local\WowAce* DELETED c:\Users\***\AppData\Local\Temp\WowAceUpdater DELETED HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Deployment\SideBySide
Tried setting ownership on C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft multiple times and propagating it down through all the subfolders.
Tried moving the "World of Warcraft" folder to C:\Users\***\World of Warcraft in case there is some bug and trying that.
Tried running with and without UAC and launching the application and the installer as administrator.
Now to the problem itself, and in XP this works without a hitch and not a computer illiterate person.
2 popups on application start, set update mode and warning about backups.

I go to that location and see several files, but not the file it's looking for.

I go to Edit->Preferences, there is just an empty field for "Wow Install Directory", click "Browse" and it automaticlly fills in "C:\Users\***\Documents" which i know is wrong so i choose browse and browse to C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft an i close and get this.
Parsing 1056 Entries In The Index File...Error loading addon list Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\***\Documents\WTF\Config.wtf'. Auto-retry of addon list load Parsing 1056 Entries In The Index File...Error loading addon list Could not find a part of the path 'C:\Users\***\Documents\WTF\Config.wtf'. Complete
And this repeats itself on and on and on whatever i try (see things tried at the start of this thread.
EDIT: Almost forgot, after i applied the new settings and open up preferences again it says "C:\Users\***\Documents" again.
Any ideas or anything since i can't really live without this application.
Jun 15, 2007I mostly play a druid and i have noticed one thing that i wanted to see if it could be implemented, when we have the talent Omen of Clarity and it proccs we get the next spell/attack without mana/rage/energy cost, is it possible to add something to make the buttons light up to show that they have enough energy/mana to be used instead of being grayed out?Posted in: General AddOns
Hope i wrote it understandable, let me know and i'll try to rephrase it a little better.
