Regardless, my point stays the same.

People will and do, regardless of who. And frankly, I don't care. I won't allow them to advertise their works on the main site, and the majority of users will never know about them.

sellout? who knwos, maybe. Inability to sustain the site in its current financial state is a major motivating factor for doing something. So I had to choose between doing this or just shutting stuff down.

I knew some people where going to be very upset by the course taken, I'm doing what I view as best for the whole. Am I right, am I wrong? Who the fuck knows.

    We'll see though.

While I'm a little miffed at the pending/upcoming loss of WAU (even though there was that time period where the ads it used would crash my client mid update, and for some reason now the windows don't load right), I hope I wasn't rude/inconsiderate if/when I voiced my discontent. New client issues and all that x_x

At any rate, I like the community here and most, if not all, of the mods I use ended up being Ace mods, so as long as the new client is elegant-ish and easy to use/update, I'll be happy. But in its current incarnation, where the beta still bugs out and overwrites stuff with broken and outdated mods, I'm a little worried.

so you're going to stop people reverse engineering this new client how?

once that's done it'll take about 30 minutes for someone to take an existing OSS updater and add curseace support.

guess which one people will use: bloated crippled adware from curse, or some tiny OSS program with all of the previous functionality...

    great business plan!

So, you created an account, just to b*tch?

Bad example, as if the individual skin files were updated, you'd still have to copy the updated ones you wanted to the SkinMe folder anyway...

I've only had to drag skins over a few times. Once when outfitter was redone, and when omen was redone. Oh, and when I had to completely reinstall it because CurseForge beta screwed it up and corrupted it by trying to install an outdated version.

Wait, so it doesn't have an option to delete the current version of the addon before unpacking a new version over the top of it? I've had that cause problems before when an addon author meant for files to no longer exist in an updated version, so I have set WAU to "delete before extracting."

But for a mod like Skinner, where you have to drag the lua file things into another folder inside the addon, this means you'd have to drag them all over again every time you update.

When will it start looking at WowAce for ace2 addons and such so I won't be attacked with thousands of compilations?

Outfitter, Omen, Recount... ArkInventory, Auctioneer/Advanced, WIM...

None of them are working as of the patch 2 hours ago.
