Ever since 2.1.0, Pitbull lets WoW crash on random characters.
Once it crashed for a certain character, I keep getting the same error whenever I try to log in with that character for a certain time. After a log in with a different character or reboot it usually works again.
The error I get is:
This application has encountered a critical error:
ERROR #132 (0x85100084) Fatal Exception
Program: C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\WoW.exe
Exception: 0xC0000005 (ACCESS_VIOLATION) at 001B:00693865

Pitbull is up to date and I allready tried reinstalling it. Really makes me sad since it's a great addon
Haha, had just the same problem on one of my chars too, log my alt and it runs perfectly. Strange indeed. As soon as Pitbull is disabled I can load in on her again as normal.
From what I can see, the duration will update if a new buff appears and the buff order changes, but the label and the icon don't. Something very strange going on in any case at least.
Same happens for regular raids, spent nearly 10 minutes trying to make it work in Magtheridon's Lair this evening and in the end I had to result to just disabling it. Although it worked fine when I was logging in back in Shattrath yet still in the raid.
In any case something is seriously wrong with the raid frames.
Today I had to go back to AGUF since Pitbull's Aura-module seems fubar, its just a big fps-bogger. I've posted some info earlier if you want to research it further.
I'll check back later.
Same, decided to try out PitBull again after the patch, then noticed my FPS was poor and very jerky from time to time, I immediately replaced PitBull with agUF and the lag was instantly gone. This NEEDS to be addressed ASAP imo.
This is a complete re-write of my pre-TBC addon called "BuffMe", but since I abandoned it and some new interest sparked up recently I decided to take another look at it and see if anything could be improved. The result is PuntFu, a FuBar-based plugin that is also able to be run standalone thanks to the embedded libraries it comes with.
If you're forgetful like me, but are always prepared and fully-buffed for raids then this mod is for you! It provides a configurable list to remind you of particular buffs you are missing without you having to skim over your buffs and work out on your own what you're missing (or so you can see who in the raid is slacking off buff-duty!)
Features:
Very simply, YOU provide the list of buffs you want PuntFu to track, there is no pre-defined list anymore, it queries Babble Spell with the localised buff name and appropriate returns the correct string and icon for that spell. NOTE: There are some limitations with this, which I have only came across briefly whilst testing, so if you get a validation error trying to add a perfectly valid buff, blame BabbleLib not me :)
Here's how to quickly get started:
- Right-click on the PuntFu entry on the minimap or on your FuBar.
- Navigate to Add Buff until you see an editbox appear to the side of it.
- Type in the exact name of the buff you want to monitor as shown on the buff's tooltip.
- Tada! You can now see the activity status of the buff you just added by hovering over PuntFu or in your detached tooltip.
Ok, well I've re-written a new FuBar-based mod with less than 1/4th size of the original code and is able to be run standalone if needed. The placeholder name for it at the moment is InvertBuffsFu (as that's self-explanatory) but want to name it something more catchy, anyone got any ideas? :)
Now that I think of it, I think I started making this mod because CorkFu didn't meet my needs :P Which was basically tracking buffs you were missing from OTHER players, not just buffs you can cast on yourself/others.
I've had a think and I'm basing a new re-write as a FuBar plugin, should be a lot neater, just one thing I'm wondering about is would it function without FuBar running if it only had the libraries that were really needed loaded?
It's been out of development for over 6 months, last update was for pre-TBC, so I have no idea what works on it and what doesn't. If there's enough interest then I might pick it up again, I actually only made it as a favour for a friend :)
Not really worried about memory, as I have 2GB and only 100MB of it is used by a couple hundred addons. Framerate is the main factor :)
I might try Cartographer again eventually but only if it's somehow able to import MetaMap notes. I'd also miss the waypoint feature (and other features I'm sure) and haven't seen another maintained addon that can do it (used to be a separate addon). I like that it also notes down quest givers as I pick up quests as well.

Btw just out of interest, what was needed to fix it?

Nothing special here yet, but useful if you hid the addon and need to show it again using these console commands.

Will upload it tomorrow complete with a new sub-thread.
