Hey all. Hoping someone can help me. I was having some fps problems since the patch so decided to delete my WTF and addons and start from scratch. Got rid of a bunch of addons because my old iMac doesn't seem too happy when I have too many. Set everything up but suddenly Grid is acting up. When I zone into a BG or an instance in a raid one of two things happens. My own Grid box is fine but everyone else is solid black or everyone is fine as far as visibility goes but the range finder doesn't work. When I /reloadui it solves it but it is kind of a pain to do that every time.

Please make sure you're using the latest revision of Grid, as it has seem some performance improvements very recently. Besides that, try to disable all range checks in Grid except one (as a healer I use 40yrds), and then bind that one to whatever you like.

Besides that, I have no idea of SideIndicators, StatusHots and MissingDebuffs work properly in 2.4, personally I'm using HostileUnit, RaidDebuffs (plus LayoutPlus, HealingReduced, HotStack and Threat) and am not seeing any problems with these modules.

Also with my old UI I was able to create my own buffs to track. For example there is no default Prayer of Mending but I was able to make my own and assign it to a side. For the life of me I can not figure out how to do this now that I started from scratch. Any tips? Still possible? I was a pain not being able to see where the Prayer of Mendings were last night.

Find the Auras menu, go to "Add new Buff", enter the exact buff name and hit enter. Then bind that new status to wherever you want (personally I have it green in the upper right corner with higher priority as the shield).

    Hope that helps.

BTW, what irks you about it existing?

In general, the problem with outdated/deprecated modules is that Grid newbies tend to install Grid with *all* available modules, simply because they don't know better. And I guess the same happens with Cartographer or other modular addons. Which is why I'd like to see modules that have their functionality more or less built into the core being phased out. Same with modules that seem to cause major issues (GridManaBars?).

You don't need GridStatusIncomingHealth anymore; its functionality is now built into the Grid core addon. Also, GridManaBars has frequently been pointed to as the culprit for Grid-related performance issues. Finally, although you probably know this already, GridDynamicLayout, GridLayoutPlus, and GridoRA2Layouts have overlapping functionality and shouldn't be run together.

Actually I think it is time to either:
    - change the description of outdated Grid modules
    - move them to a branch/tags and replace them in trunk with an empty readme.txt explaining what module to use instead

Yeah, lets please stick to LHC-3 for a while to make sure it becomes a standard (anyone have a list of supported addons? Did Cladhaire add it to PerfectRaid yet? or andreasg to ag_UF3?), and lets focus on adding HoT support to LHC-3 instead.

posted a message on oRA2 - Time To Use Blizzard MT/MA And Abandon CTRA Compatibility?
    Quote from Snago »

oRA could set the Blizzard MT+MA and send the desired order to other oRA users. That way people who want to use Blizzards unit frames will have MTs+MAs (in whatever order their client feels like, but still) and oRA users have the order that whoever set the MTs+MAs wanted.

I agree, adding an option to oRA2 (or oRA3) to also update the blizzard MT/MA list when setting main tanks would be a nice thing. After all, not every raid frame addon supports oRA/CTRA tanks (Pitbull?), and adding such an option wouldn't hurt anyone.

Someone want to bug Ammo on IRC?

    * No Buff Checking (Other mods do it insanely better)

which addons would you suggest to use instead? I'd really miss the one click buffing and raid chat reporting.

...Or alternately the people working on oRA2 can split off the resurrection reporting off from oRA2 and make it a library of its own.

actually oRA3 is around the corner - but I agree, a resurrection lib could be used by various addons (oRA, Grid, SmartRes,..).

Im just trying to see whats needed for my other healers to download
so that i can recieve the incoming heal info!?

They can use a recent version of either Grid, PitBull, VisualHeal, sRaidFrames, maybe some other addons I missed (PerfectRaid?), or the standalone library LibHealComm-3 which you'll also find on files.wowace.com.

Would it be possible for Grid to bind right clicking (not sure if this does anything currently)to assisting the grid unit frame (if you right click a grid unit frame you're targeting whoever that player was targeting)?

Most healers using Grid seem to use Clique to cast any kind of spell/macro/... depending on various click combinations - and there's also a similar addon on wowace (click2cast or something like that?). I'd suggest to try them both and see what you prefer.

We need to see unit frames for the tanks, and their target. GridLayoutPlus and any other grid add-on I've found will only get the tanks, not their targets.

Grid will never handle units outside your own raid. It's simply not what it was made for. The only thing I could imagine is showing the current target of each raid member as abbreviated text, but that's probably not too helpful.

Oh no i don?t even see the amount of incomming health i simply see nothing not the incomming health not the unit name, just nothing when a unit is being healed

That's strange indeed. Might be a problem with interfering extra modules or your saved settings...

FYI, i have updated the PitBull_VisualHeal module, so the colours are customisable, and it can be disabled for specific frame groups. It still needs a little tweaking to properly support multi-target heals.

I'm not using PitBull myself so I haven't seen the implementation, but speaking in general I honestly don't think any feature that has been asked for once or twice should be added if it's technically possible. That's the Microsoft Office approach in my opinion, leading to a cluttered interface and novice users being completly lost.

Please keep VisualHeal as compact as possible, with optimal defaults. No matter how many options you add, you'll always have someone asking for another 'important' feature. It's the wrong path to take, and it's the reason why Vista is less successful than OSX.

I've just committed the BoB module to the trunk version of BunchOfBars, so if you get the latest, you'll get the module with it.

xbeeps, get andreasg to support LHC in ag_UF/trunk too :)
