Oct 29, 2014GridFrame.lua line 489:Posted in: Grid & Grid2
self.frame.BarBG:SetVertexColor(r * 0.2, g * 0.2, b * 0.2, 1)
that is what I used to do to get the white background. I didn't have to do anything special except alter that code and it gave me the white background.
I'm not quite sure what you're talking about with the textures. It isn't really a texture thing, just messing with the current options you can't get the background white. Same thing with the lighting in the room, not quite sure where you're going with that. I want the background white, that's it.
Only way you can in the current options is to make the unit health white and then invert it, but that will also invert the mana/power bar to a black color which I don't want.

Hey Phanx, you asked me to make a new thread. I tried altering the lines you said it moved to but still can't get the desired look.
I included the screenshot. That is how my grid was pre 6.0. I just want it to look like that again. What lines of code do I alter to get that white background instead of the pitch black it is now.
Thanks ahead of time for the response.

That's what I can get it to right now. It's pretty close. But as you can see my mana bar is that crappy black, then is blue when some mana is missing.
That's what happens when I uncheck invert bar color. I get this. If I check it then my mana bar would be fine, my health bar would the smoky grey, and my health deficit or background goes back to being the pitch black.
Better understanding now?
Oct 26, 2014right your mana bar is black though, and turns white as it goes down. Mine wasn't like that in my screenshot.Posted in: Grid & Grid2
My health bar is smoky grey, then white when they are missing health.
my mana bar is blue, then turns black when they are missing some, rage bar is red, etc etc.
I can get my grid to look like yours no problem. Minus the names are black as well when I select invert colors. I'll post a screenshot of how I can make my grid look right now
Oct 26, 2014ya, I can get my background to be white when I uncheck invert bar color, thats not the issue. That's easy. You just make the health bar color white and then it's done.Posted in: Grid & Grid2
I want my grid to look like it is in the picture, it doesn't look like that when you do the settings you suggested. Like I said I already tried that.
Hopefully Phanx can shed some light on it. You could never get your grid to look like I have it unless you altered the LUA because there isn't an option to make the background white.
Oct 26, 2014Posted in: Grid & Grid2Quote from EmberlorinHello :),
I think I might be able to help you. This is how I configured the look of my grid as well, but I didn't have to edit the lua. What I did to achieve the white backdrop was:
-go to status
-untick use class color
That should get you the white background under the health bar :). If this doesn't work let me know and I will see if there is something else that I might have done.
already tried that, didnt work, you must have done something else in addition
Oct 26, 2014I'm not sure if this has to do with new coding formats or what but in the old versions of grid I could alter 2 lines of code to be able to have a white backdrop for health deficit. Through the addon you can only adjust the health color or invert bar, but the backdrop is default black. Even if you change health deficit color to white it stays black. I always had to go into the LUA to get it to be white.Posted in: Grid & Grid2
There is an example of how my grid used to be set up before the 6.0 patch. I've tried looking in the LUA files everywhere to try and alter it, nothing is working. Hopefully you can tell me Phanx. Thanks
