Well guys I'm pretty pissed about this too, this is 100% unacceptable as far as I'm concerned and I've disabled the adverts until I can get it straightened out.

If anyone can give us some feedback about how to verify and find the trojan and steps so users can remove it if infected I'd appreciate it.

I posted this on the wow forums but:

I THINK That is the correct method of removing winfixer. BUT, I dont know if thast a "legit" site or not. I used those programs before to remove it on my GFs PC about a year ago, and I have no idea if those are legit fix programs. Can someone corroborate?

The larger issue I'd say is not this specific trojan but the fact that trojans are coming across the ads. Someone could custom code one to keylog, and a virus scanner wouldn't catch it, and then a lot of accounts would get hacked...

Yes, I ran into this just now after I got my new PC today.. thank God I installed Nod32 5 minutes before.

The major source of gold that the gold selling sites get is via psuedo-organized crime groups in China, Eastern Europe and Russia who use various means to compromise accounts... viruses/trojans being the #1 way.

You guys really need to do something about this, WAU is just too tempting of a target to one of these groups.
