    I've been using EBB as a complete replacement for all buff displays. I have deleted the aura/buff modules from my unit frames and only use EBB because it rocks!

    I noticed you are planning on recoding some things, and I have a feature request:

    Would it be possible to set it up to display multiple columns or rows?

    This mainly is an issue in raids: when targetting a boss the target debuffs stack the entire height of my screen. Would be cool if I could set a max of like 20 and have it start stacking another column.

    I know this takes a lot of extra code work, but maybe it won't be so bad if you're recoding anyway:)

    I'll agree with Phanx that stackable debuffs should also be able to display as icons alone without a stack count.

    Addons should default to their default profile.

    I have not looked into the framework but I am guessing that most of the new Ace3 based addons are using a library to handle saved variables profiles, so I am posting this here.

    If it's the wrong forum, I apologize. Maybe this is the responsibility of each addon dev.

    Most of the new addons I have tried lately (many Ace3 ports/remakes of older Ace addons) have serious issues with their configuration profiles. Most of these addons do not default to the "Default" profile, which is quite simply absurd. If I need character specific settings for an addon then I can easily add the profile while making those changes. If I do not need character specific settings, then I am sitting here reconfiguring the same addon 10 times. Most of the "copy profile" mechanisms do not work right either. And if I want everyone to share a single profile, I shouldn't have to select "Default" on each one and then delete many profiles that have been automatically created for no reason. I have one character of each class, and many addons are creating 20+ different profiles. One for each class. One for each character. One for my server. And one called "Default" that isn't even defaulted to. Lately I've been configuring my addons by manually editting saved variables.lua because it's actually faster and easier than using the GUI.

    If this has nothing to do with the Ace3 framework/libraries that the addon authors are using, then I apologize for posting this here. It seems that this is happening in almost every one of the newer Ace addons and it's really quite frustrating.

    not sure what you have in mind, but I think "CTRL-click" is standard in windows for selecting multiple independent items from a list. "Shift-Click" generally is used for selecting sections (start to end) from a list.

    Maybe if you used CTRL-Click instead, then Shift-click could stay as "insert item link" which is relatively standard in warcraft.

    Found another issue with the autobuff failing.

    On a rogue, in combat it will remind me "You need a poison on [mainhand]"

    As soon as I'm out of combat, it "forgets" that I needed a poison, and pressing the button does nothing.

    Also, if I go from mounted->dismounted->stealth, sometimes it will flash "You need a poison on [mainhand]" before I enter stealth. Since I have it disabled during stealth, I tried unstealthing to apply the poison. As soon as I unstealthed however, it decided I no longer needed a poison application. Pressing the "autobuff" key once again failed to cast the buffs I needed. What's even more frustrating is that as soon as I enter combat it starts printing messages again, like it's taunting me but refuses to actually do anything when I should be casting the buff.

    I also have seen this happen on other classes where pressing the Autobuff key fails to apply necessary buffs due to failure to implement a check.

    I understand that you implemented this in some very strange backwards way, making certain events trigger a spell check, and then when it decides a spell is needed it hooks the autobuff key.

    I would much much much prefer an optional behavior where the autobuff key remains bound at all times to a simple function that runs the buffcheck and then casts a spell. This would completely eliminate all "synch" issues and I suspect would work very well for many users.

    It's very frustrating and kinda defeats the whole point of the addon when the Autobuff key fails because of the current overly complex implementation.

    When you get mind controlled yourself, it does not force a Grid Refresh/Update whatever for all unit frames. This means that hostile unit frame indicators don't update immediately. They turn red as other events trigger their frame updates. This can be confusing right after being mind controlled because only one or two party members will turn red, looking as if *they* are the mind controlled players.

    Maybe it could force a refresh on all the unit frames when you yourself are mindcontrolled?

    I'm not sure how hard that hits the CPU, so I'll leave it to you veterans to decide if that's a reasonable solution or not.

    You can actually add debuffs for each Mind Control as Grid Statuses, and assign them to various indicators. Unfortunately there is a large number of different "mind control" debuffs used throughout the game, so you would end up with a large list to maintain!

    The alternative is to use GridStatusHostileUnit, and I'll make a post there regarding the piecemeal update when you are mindcontrolled.

    Since my Grid Frames are set to 20 height, the minimum of 10 actually causes bugs for me when I attempt to open the Grid configuration menu.

    I have to change it to some number less than 10, otherwise the minimum is not less than the maximum, which is "height/2"

    This font minimum is defined on line 54 of GridIndicatorDebuffCounter.lua

    Was a sarcastic reference to all the problems with Vista. I have spent hours helping a guildmate Vista user who deleted WTf\..\SavedVariables\ files and was still unable to revert to default because Vista uses some ridiculous sandboxing/aliasing scheme to protect users from themselves. They had to delete .lua files in some other strange location in order to reset addons to default. Your problem sounded similar but who knows.
