You could just type that and find out.

I think the recommended method is to set up the desired profile in each addon first; i.e. in Bartender4, switch to or create the profile "Profiletest1" and configure it.

But, for addons that do have native profile support through AceDB, typing "/reflux switch Profiletest1" probably creates the profile if it doesn't exist, since the method of creating a new profile through AceDB is simply to switch to a profile that doesn't yet exist. I'm not sure if the same applies to non-AceDB addons, or addons without any native profile support. I don't actually use Reflux.

Created by switching to a default, and I'm guessing it emulates every addons' profile... somehow I feel I'll crash by doing so lol... And I know it came through as if I ain't tried playing around with it, but while very sad to say, when it comes to command line interfaces like reflux has, I tend to get on the fail boat and sail away without ever nailing the dock for the rest of my life. So I thought asking and getting a general understanding of it all would be better :p

I'm not a fan of timer bars for buffs/debuffs, but the addon I use (Satrina Buff Frames) can do timer bars, icons, both, or neither. It's very flexible. It does take a bit of setup, but the upside is that you have total control over its appearance, so you can make it look good at your resolution.

For tracking specific buffs (eg. as a feral druid I need to make sure I keep the appropriate debuffs on my target) I use Auracle. It only does icons, and isn't very configurable appearace-wise, but it does "buff grouping" (eg. I don't care whether my Mangle, another druid's Mangle, or a warrior's Trauma is up on the mob, only that one of them is).

While waiting I downloaded Simple Buff Bars and playing around with them I kinda got them to look close to the way I wanted, and in general managed to make it work out nicely. As for Auracle, I'll probably give that a shot.

Do you use Quartz? Those bars look like Quartz's Buff module.

Yes, I do have an unconfigured Quartz at the moment. I plan on punching it straight today since have been a little bit busy with real life stuff, and yet, having added SBB as mentioned earlier those annoying bars went away... I'm guessing it has some auto detection or something lol, or for some reason they were hidden. I'll be checking it out.

Thank you a lot for your reply, it has helped me a great deal for sure, appreciate it ^^

    Reflux
Starting off with reflux, I know it's meant to be a profile manager addon with profile simulation capabilities for addons which don't support profiles on their own, and yet, I have no clue how to use it... Say I have bartender4, pitbull4 and omen threat meters' profiles setup, and I want to make it so that typing

    /reflux switch Profiletest1

would set all 3 addons' profile to predefined profiles. How would I go about doing that, what preperations are necessary?

    Buff/Debuff Addon
I know plenty are out there, such as Classtimers and Simple Buff Bars, but I simply don't know which to go for. I have tried class timers but for some weird reason they simply didn't work. The buffs wouldn't show, even though they were enabled. It was fairly annoying and I'm not exactly an amateur at messing around with addons at this point. Any suggestions for selecting one that I can change its look and style to fit my needs, is lightweight and looks clean on non-huge resolutions (aka 1280x800)

Edit: I actually slapped myself for giving up on pitbull and decided to keep at it till either me or the addon itself breaks and gives in lol. I outlasted it *cheers*. Issue solves, I managed to find a style I'm very happy with (Rune texture rawks <3)

Edit2: Another thing I have found an issue with, and I guessed creating more than one thread might get some mods angry (then again compressing everything in just one might piss them off more :< ) I chose to smack it into this on as well... I have this weird ass cooldown bars and I have no clue which addon they belong to. Hate them, wanna punch 'em out, but no idea what I'm looking at... They're the ones in a red box, any help please? >.<

I have one question that I've been stuck with for some time now... can we import layout codes on pitbull 4.0? If so, where's the option at?

The only other addon to provide the google maps style zooming functionality that i can think of is carbonite, however i find it a bit too clunky a map mod since its packaged with an awful lot of superfluous stuff that i wouldnt want with a map mod. also other mods have compatibility issues with it. so its a bit of an all or nothing deal. personally i can do without.

In the end nothing's able to replace good ol' monolithic cartographer. :(

I'm wondering, do all those make the map have those cool features of zooming in and out, getting detailed maps when zoomed in enough, smoothly as cartographer 3 had? Just wondering :o

Unrelated to your questions but in your screenshot I see a folder named "Interface" into your AddOns folder.

That looks like a failed attempt to install a compilation or an addon that packages the whole Interface\AddOns\myAddon folder structure.

Look what's in there and either pull the addon out to its proper place or delete the whole thing.

No wonder lightheaded wasn't showing up :O hehe, thanks for pointing it out.

I also seem to have fixed the issue with the combat crippling my ui. Cartographer3 (seems discontinued)+ Quest Helper (Now integrated with the original game) removed. Installed Mapster instead. I really miss the zoom in and detail map features as well as smooth scrolling cartographer 3 had, but if it risks getting me killed twelve times daily I'd rather remove it. :(

All that's left is some help with Pitbull 4.0, and kgPanels now :p

Sorry edited main post with the link, was meant to put it there, but forgot.

Do you have an old version of MoveAnything maybe... an addon list would help spot potential problematic addons.

Can you pinpoint in which interface category this option is in? I'm really unable to get to it for some reason.

Edit: Got it under "Names" category. Thanks =)

I suffer the same issue occasionally lol. Using Bartender 4 myself. /reload ui fixes it for me.

Hello. Since patch 3.3.0, the interface I used to use (which was a precompiled package) turned out useless. I decided to scrap it, download my own addons and get started on them by myself. Having done so, I encountered several problems and ideas I wanted to implement which I couldn't figure out. I'd like to get as much help as is possible on any of these, please.

Addons installed (screenshot of "\interface\addons" folder): http://img696.imageshack.us/img696/7389/addonlist.png

1: Combat "cripples" my interface Solved =)
This definitely the issue I want to solve the most. Whenever I go in combat, I can't open (or close, if it's opened) the map. Can't open up the MicroMenu, nor do any real functionality with the interface. Only things I can do is simply stand my ground and fight the mobs, once out of combat, all functionality resumes. I have no clue what's making this happen. Note: Even in combat, provided I have the map open (Cartographer3), it won't be hidden. It remains there, which is extremely hard to see anything when I'd like to fight back.

Solution: Removed Cartographer3 and Questhelper. Installed mapster instead, and relying on blizzard's own "quest helper" now. Cartographer3 has been discontinued seemingly. I really find removing it as a big loss, but can't help it.

2: Nameplates stack over each other. Solved =)
This is slightly weird, and I seem to be the only one suffering from this, which makes me guess it's my addons. Whenever there are multiple mobs and within range for the nameplates to appear, instead of having the nameplates seperate from one another allowing me to click each one swiftly, they stack on each other, having most of them hidden, making it extremely hard to choose the target (I end up playing with the camera angle trying to seperate them, which in instances most of the time turns out to be in vain).

Solution: Escape -> Interface -> Names -> Beneath Unit Nameplates, uncheck "Allow overlapping unit nameplates"

    3: Pitbull Unit Frames 4.0.
This is not a functionality problem or an issue I'm having but I just have trouble figuring out how to skin it right. My current ui looks like >>this<<.

It's extremely chaotic in my opinion. I tried using kgpanels just an hour ago or so, but I failed heavily seeing I could find no textures whatsoever (I thought sharedmedia would have added skins automatically, doesn't seem to be the case *facepalm*). And the unit frames are just not where I want them to be. I like dark shades, and fairly simplistic looks, which look smooth, "formal" and informative in a way which is not cluttered.

Any suggestions on layouts? (I've seen it's possible to provide some sorta layout code, but I have no clue what to do with that. Does that still apply for Pitbull 4, or is it a feature only used for Pitbull 3/earlier versions?)

    4: As mentioned above, kgPanels
Tutorial please? *facepalm*. Well the issue here is that I have no clue how to get textures. I want something dark, black preferably, with a nice texture which makes it look smooth and very simple looking.

Thanks for reading, sorry for the wall of text, and appreciate any replies or attempts of helping me outta my current (shitty?) situation xP

posted a message on Some Newbie Questions [Curse Client V4][Customizing Interface]
Hello. I've just today tried switching to Curse Client V4 (uninstalled v3, and downed + installed v4), and it turned out to be severely slowing down my computer. This was the case as well with curse client v3 when it was just out and I tried it, but now v3 runs just fine, but v4 is just too slow and heavy on my system for some reason - Are there options to untick or anything to consider before giving up on it?

The icons also look pretty big, the ads kinda ruin it in my opinion, can barely see anything, and overall it's pretty confusing and filled with details I might not quite want. The emphasis would have been the search and management features for me, but search seems to slow me down heavily, and management is confusing due to all the icons and heavier visuals of it. Any idea if this can be changed through settings or something?

    Also, more importantly:

I'm just becoming interested in customizing the look and feel of my wow interface. And it's not about just downloading a couple of addons, tweaking a setting or two, maybe dragging the frames and be on with it, but full artwork setups, as I've seen many others do. I cannot make the artwork myself, nor do I plan on coding using LUA, but I'm pretty sure it's possible to customize the look and feel of wow without doing either by using the resources available. Are there guides to doing so... simply put, where do I start?

Have a great day, thanks :)
