posted a message on List of active rated RBG players on your realm
Have you ever found yourself waiting(or spamming trade) for 2 hours to get an RBG team complete?
Have you ever had to go with the wrong setup, just because it was too hard to find the right people?

Armory provides info on rating / last activity / item level, a website like guildox.com, have more or less updated info
Another site, theunderminejournal, have no problem with generating realm specific files for download.

Combine all this, and you get an addon showing you who on the realm has a preset list of conditions you set before downloading the realm specfic file.

Want a sorted list of all classes / roles with 1750-1900 RBG rating on your realm, with item level between 475 and 485, who's been actively playing wow the last month? Set the conditions, and download the generated list and put it into your addon folder. The addon will show them on a neat list sortable by role / class / rating / ilvl. Filtering out or in certain classes / roles / online / offline would also be a nice feature.

I know it's many stages to an addon like this, but it should be possible for the right group of motivated people to realize this.

I know there is an addon out atm, called oQueue, that will put your premade out there for others to join even if they are on other realms, but the difference to this addon is that you will have a list of people who is currently online, that may be interested in joining your RBG pug/team for the evening.

posted a message on Track Cooldowns of dismissed pets
Thanks for showing an interest. DBM is huge, true, but like I said, I have no lua knowledge, only experience from other languages, thats how I managed to make that little sniplet. To me, making a timer bar is a enormous task, but for you, it might be as easy a eating breakfast. :) This was my intentions when posting this, that someone with the right knowledge could wave their wand at this, and if you do that, I would truely be thankful. :)

Cheers :)

posted a message on Track Cooldowns of dismissed pets
I have been looking high and low for an addon to do this, but all the addons I find promising always removes the counter if the pet is dismissed, or if a similar pet is called and use the same ability, it overwrites the counter.

What I need the addon to do, is to track each pets individual cooldowns, and keep them onscreen even when that pet is dismissed, and even if a similar pet is summoned who used the same ability.

The current situation I find myself in, is with the pet type "Cunning" as a hunter, where the spell "Roar of Sacrifice" has seperate cooldowns on each pet, which may or may not be intended by blizzard, but that is how the situation is now.

I do not know much about lua programming, but I did manage to hack together a scripted macro that does something close to what I aim for, with the addon "Deadly Boss Mods" active. More functionality may be wanted, but that was impossible in a short macro.

DBM has a slashcommand where you can write in e.g "/dbm timer 360 5 minute break!" to make a countdown, I utilized this function(DBM:CreatePizzaTimer) in the following macro:
/cast [nopet:Shale Spider,@player] Roar of Sacrifice
/stopmacro [pet:Shale Spider]
/run for i=1,5 do local a,b,c,d=GetStablePetInfo(i) f="Pet" if b==UnitName(f) and d==UnitCreatureFamily(f) then c= f..i.. " 's Sac CD";DBM:CreatePizzaTimer(42, c);end;end

My "Cunning" pets are 4 of my 5 slots, and my "Ferocity" pet is of the type "Shale Spider", hence why I excluded that type from the timers. There is one error, or flaw in this script, and that is if you have two pets of the exact same type, with the exact same name, you will get two timers each time you click the macro on one of those pets. Easily avoided by naming them differently, or by avoiding running around with 5 monkeys.

Voil√°, the timer for the first pet will read "Pet1's Sac CD" and continue to countdown from 42 seconds, no matter what pet you have summoned at the moment.

So, with that said, the code is there, almost finished, allthough VERY shorthand to fit into a macro, so please, anyone interested, go make it into a an addon with DBM-core as a requirement to work, and hunters will have a brand new lightweight addon to utilize.

i figure you make groups with the people you want, then do simple "g1 farm, g2 lm, g3 bs"

i suppose then people need to know what group they're in, but if they can't figure that out, maybe rated bg's aren't for them.

Hehe, I figure you dont do much rated BGs then. Its abit more complicated than that.

aaanyays, I did a quick and dirty edit to "On your mark" addon, added a variable "prole" to the roster array. This is some of the code;
if (isRaidMode) then
local num = GetNumRaidMembers()

if (num ~= nil) then
math.min (GetNumRaidMembers(), 40)
end

local x
for x = 1,num do
local pname, rank, subgroup, level, pclass, fileName, zone, online, isDead, role, isML  = GetRaidRosterInfo(x);
local XandMore = "raid"..x
local prole = UnitGroupRolesAssigned(XandMore); -- String - TANK, HEALER, DAMAGER, NONE
prole = string.sub (prole, 1, 1);
prole = prole.."-";
if (prole == "N-" ) then prole = ""; end

if (pname) then
roster[pname] = pclass
table.insert (sorted, { pname=pname, pclass=pclass, prole=prole })
end
end
(keyword dirty, I know I could have cut away 3-4 lines :P)

I can now see a "H-", "D-" or "T-" infront of names with roles assigned before dragging and dropping them into place. With 4 columns named "Farm", "BS", "LM" and "Extra, go where needed", you can quickly drag'n'drop names into the appropriate columns, and with the click of a button, the names gets spammed into the chat channel you want.

After fiddling with "On your mark", I might start fiddling with "Tacticator" to make it autodetect roles there aswell.

I looked all over for an addon like this, and now I found something close to it, but not quite.

A mix of http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/your-mark/ and http://wow.curseforge.com/addons/tacticator/ with a dash of autodetecting(based on what people choose on the rolecheck) who is healer/tank/dps.

"Tacticator" addon would actually be sufficient, if it only had that detecting function aswell.

i suspect you'd have better luck simply putting together groups. generic tactics don't really work, imo.

Ahh, yes, but thats the beauty of an addon like this, there is may be one generic tactic as default, but you can make as many own tactics as you like, and this addon will change "HEALER1" to one of the assigned healers in your group, and "HEALER2" will be changed to another assigned healer, when its output in the chat.

Basicly just a form of macro to spam chat with, only that it will change the names according to the roles assigned each time.

Another example
I make a "macro"(read tactic) with this addon that looks something like this;
line1 "HEALER1, TANK1 and DAMAGER1 takes flag"
line2 "HEALER2, HEALER3, DAMAGER4, DAMAGER5 and DAMAGER6 is the attack group"
line3 "DAMAGER2 and DAMAGER3 helps out in both defense and attack, where its needed"

The output would be;

line1 "Humpty, Dumpty and Sillyman takes flag"
line2 "Healorz, Wtbmana, Dpsorzs, Theone and Priestlol is the attack group, stop and kill 3-4 in mid before proceding to kill EFC."
line3 "Hunterlol and Roguelol helps out in both defense and attack, where its needed"

It would be much easier to spam tactics in chat with an addon like this.

When I look at the idea now, it needs some improvements. It must be possible to select specific healer/dps to a specific place in the tactic. Lets say you have a shammy healer, and you really want that totem in the defensegroup, then it should be possible to select/write the name of the shaman in a box called "HEALER1", that way you would be certain the shammy gets in the defense group. Same with the extra group of helpers, in this case Hunterlol and Roguelol, if you want specific classes in those spots, it should be possible to write the names of the hunter and the rogue(or just select from a list of people assigned to dpsing) and make sure the Hunter = DAMAGER2 and the rogue = DAMAGER3

I realize I could just write an ordinary macro, and edit it every time I do a RBG, but isnt that what addons are for? making our day to day gaming abit easier. :)

Rated Battlegrounds are the new hype, since you can no longer gain all the weekly Conquest Points from just doing Arena. I have yet to come by any addon that will help you assign roles/tactics automaticly based on pre-written manual rules.

What I would like to see is this:

-Detect roles within a raid (API: UnitGroupRolesAssigned)
-Manually set roles from a menu (API: UnitSetRole)

Also, some pre-written rules and tactics where you can use stuff like "HEALER1, HEALER2 - Go Farm" / "TANK1, DAMAGER1, DAMAGER2 - Go LM" / "DAMAGER3, DAMAGER4 - Go BS", and the addon will detect who is assigned to healing/tanking/dps and will input the correct names in the output to the chat channel.

The basic output to the raidchat the addon would generate would be;
Line1 - "NameofHealer1, and NameofHealer2 cap and defend Farm"
Line2 - "NameofTank1, NameofDamager1, NameofDamager2, NameofDamager3 and NameofHealer3 cap and defend BS"
Line3 - "NameofDamager4, NameofDamager5 and NameofHealer4 cap and defend LM"

You could make your own tactics, as many as you like, and the addon will produce an error message if the assigned roles doesnt match the number of roles written in your tactic. Each tactic you write will have 3 boxes were you input the number of Tanks/Healers/Dps you must have assigned to activate that tactic as an output option.

This will make it alot easier to host Rated Battleground groups. Just imaging, gathering a group, manually assigning roles, and signing up for RBG. When entering, you see which BG it is, and with the click of a button, you have assigned everyone by name. I would really love to see an addon like this. If I had time/skill, I would do it myself, but atm I have a little newborn baby girl, and she takes most of my time(not even time for wow lately, scary :P)

Thanks in advance if anyone decides to jump on this idea, it would be greatly appreciated.

posted a message on Track expired auctions
Hi all, I got an idea for an addon( ye, I know right, surprise! )

http://www.wowace.com/addons/mysales/
Is almost perfect, the only thing lacking is an extra tab on it tracking how many times different items have expired at AH. I post thousands of auctions at a time, and its very hard to spot those auctions that have expired every 48h the last 2 weeks. Ofcourse I would like to lower the price of that item, if I knew it was expiring all the time, but as it is now, I have no clue what expires or not, unless I scout the mailbox when I open it, and with 2-300 mails, I dont do that.

Am I the only one with this problem?

I only mentioned MySales addon, cause it tracks sold auctions in a very nice way, so I would assume it would be possible to track expired auctions in the same manner.

Quote from turbopipp
Why I could use this? While doing pvp, I find it useful to always have the stack topped, and with a counter it would be easier to know when to reapply a holy shock while running around doing nothing

This was some of the useful thing this addon could do, running around out of combat in PvP keeping the stack @ 3 incase of emergency. So when you say; "To me it also feels like a scenario in which it's not that big of a deal to know when the next charge is gonna expire.", my heart sank into my stomac, and I started to cry.

:p No, but seriously, I would love for it to work even with 3 stacks. It was me who reported it on wowinterface btw :)
I also reported; and when I had 1 Holy Power, and entered combat and gained more Holy Power, but never used any, the timer was stuck at what it was precious to combat. As in the timer was at 4sec or so(since I entered combat 6 sec after my last holy power gain), and it continued to stay at 4 seconds with 3stacks when I got out of combat, and continued all the way down to zero with just 4 sec as timer.

As for the problem @ 3 stacks not refreshing the timer, is there some addon that logs every event that is happening at any given point? (or is this just the ordinary combat log that can give us that information?) There must be some kind of event when a Holy Power is refreshed.. I hope. :)

I'd just do a 10-second countdown timer. Holy power will (presumably) never decay in less than 10 seconds, so that's safe, and I doubt most people will even notice a half-second discrpancy. Then, wait to start the next timer until the last holy power actually goes away.

I wrote earlier: "If you gain 1 holy power, wait 4 sec, and then enter battle, and while in battle dont use or gain any new holy power, when you exit combat again, it will only stay on for 6 more seconds(aka 10 secs out of combat total)."

So, the 10sec countdown timer must be paused if you enter combat, and reset to 10 if you gain/lose any HoPo.

Thanks for taking an interest in this idea :) Looking forward to checking it out.

posted a message on Holy Power timer
Paladins have this new trick now, like rogues, but called Holy Power and stacking to 3. If you are out of combat for 10secs, one stack will be removed, repeat until empty.

I tried to get Power Auras to do this for me, setting it up to show 3 icons for each holy power stack, and with a counter that started counting every time a holy power was gained. I just couldnt get it to work when the stacks were lost.

I sort of got it working, but not perfectly. Its seems like a good idea for a lightweight addon; UI for the Holy Power, with a counter for when the stacks will fall off.

Why I could use this? While doing pvp, I find it useful to always have the stack topped, and with a counter it would be easier to know when to reapply a holy shock while running around doing nothing.

Its an idea atleast, do what you want with it, or redirect me to an addon that does it, and explain how I set it up please. :)

Edit: I just discovered some helpful information if you are going to make an addon like this. If you gain 1 holy power, wait 4 sec, and then enter battle, and while in battle dont use or gain any new holy power, when you exit combat again, it will only stay on for 6 more seconds(aka 10 secs out of combat total). This makes it impossible to accurately predict it by just using Power Aura, because there is no way to pause a counter while in combat.

posted a message on "Find the healers" PVP addon
I would be happy with a top5-enemy-healer-list in any BG really, be it WSG or AV. But seeing that some warriors does alot of healing, and some other classes too, check their dps vs healing, and if dps is higher, dont put them on the list. :) If this could be implemented to nameplates, so that whenever a unit with the same name as anything on the list is close, they would get a border around them, or a glow or even change color, that would be sweet :)

But I dont know it its a secure check. Would wow lua be able to color nameplates incombat from a static(read; pre-combat made) list?

Edit: I searched around abit, and found this; http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/healers-have-to-die.aspx
(disclaimer; I have not tried it myself)
