Oct 15, 2010Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from Fred7r180 fixed those lua errors my mage was getting.
Could you do me a favor and make sure that it's casting the Dalaran version of the spell (and that it shows you as having the int buff in the list when you hover over the icon)?
I made some pretty sweeping changes in that module, and while I think I preserved the aliasing for that, I don't have a mage with Dalaran Brilliance to test it.
Oct 15, 2010Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from kethra79I'm not sure if you have any priests testing the alpha or not, but I've tried versions r178 and r179 and it won't let me buff anything except Inner Fire, and says I don't have Inner Fire even though I've just buffed it.
Only my level 43 priest right now, but Fortitude seems to work there.
It almost sounds like the raid buff module isn't loading for some reason. Do you see Fortitude on the list of buffs when you right click and go to the configuration? Do you see the "Group Buffs" menu at all under there?
Did you delete all the ZOMGBuffs directories before extracting the test version? If you could check Logs\FrameXML.log for signs of any problems loading ZOMGBuffs_BuffTehRaid (and make sure it's enabled in the addon list), that would be helpful as well. That reminds me, I need to bump the TOC on those so that they still load when out of date addons are disabled...
Oct 15, 2010r177 is up and should have all currently known show-stopper issues fixed.Posted in: General AddOns
There's still a lot of testing to be done, and probably new spells to add. Eventually I'd like to convert it to Ace3, but that's a big undertaking and will need to happen on a separate branch.
May 7, 2009Hi, could you apply the following patch when you get a chance?Posted in: Raid AddOns

Feb 24, 2009Posted in: Ace3Quote from MisenSo what does ace do well? What tasks does it automate that are tedious to code and manage myself?
I tend to use the Blizzard API for most things. I sometimes use AceEvent, but really the difference between that and a simple OnEvent handler is a few lines of code and a lookup table.
The primary reason I use Ace3 is for AceConfig. The ability to quickly add a GUI configuration dialog to a simple addon, without having to design all the frames by hand is a huge benefit.
Feb 24, 2009_ForgeUser451653 posted a message on [AceDB] No direct support for SavedVariablesPerCharacter?Posted in: Ace3Quote from NevcairielI agree with Ammo. Whats the advantage of storing it in the SVPC and not in the "Char" profile in your main SV?
I guess a weeeee bit of memory *shrug*.
The SVPC is a easy way for addons to create character based configs, without a complex framework to do that for them, but with AceDB datatypes or profiles, that advantage is nil'ed,
Ok, I know this is an old topic, but I can think of one advantage that SVPC has over how AceDB currently does it.
When a character is renamed, the client automatically renames the associated directory under WTF, so anything using SavedVariablesPerCharacter "just works".
AceDB's char tree, as well as the per-char profiles (which are the default for some mind-boggling reason), index by character name. So when a character is renamed, you lose all the associated settings.
Jan 15, 2009It seems that when Bartender4 saves the position of its bars, it multiplies the coordinates by the effective scale of the frame, and divides by it when loading. See Bar:LoadPosition() and Bar:SavePosition() in Bar.lua.Posted in: General AddOns
This has the side effect of causing Bartender's frames to not move with the rest of the UI when the UI scale is changed. If the scale is different at load than it was on the last save, the position of the bars is wrong (overlapping with each other, drifted apart, etc).
I noticed this because I synchronize my saved variables across several computers with varying aspect ratios (5:4, 4:3, 8:5), and have some custom code to automatically adjust the UI scale to maintain a consistent interface.
It's not a huge deal for me, since I'm already (automatically) moving frames around for a couple addons that need extra help. Pitbull, for instance, that insists on anchoring everything to the center of the screen. I just have to adjust the coordinates after VARIABLES_LOADED but before the frames are created.
Just curious if there was a particular reason for doing it this way, since it basically breaks the layout any time the scale is changed. If the intent is to make the saved coordinates for frames with different scales be absolute w.r.t. UIParent, then it seems that
pos.x / self:GetEffectiveScale() * UIParent:GetScale()
would be better IMO.
Oct 18, 2008_ForgeUser451653 posted a message on Combuctor: All in one, filterable displays for your inventory and bankInteresting addon. Considering it as my primary bag mod. Was using OneBag/OneBank + Sanity2 before the 3.0 patch. I'm rebuilding my UI from scratch and trying to avoid bringing in any Ace2 libraries to keep load times down.Posted in: General AddOns
This does almost everything I wanted, and I like the style of the tooltips (though I had to disable LoD on Bagnon_Forever to get them to work in 3.0.2). One question: Is there a way to do a global search? What I mean is, type in the name of an item and see a list of anything that matches, regardless of which character has it and if it's in bags or the bank.
In Sanity I can toggle on multiple characters to search, but I haven't found a way to do that in Combuctor.
Aug 1, 2008_ForgeUser451653 posted a message on Is there an addon to play a sound when a raid member gets a debuff?I'm in the process of switching from Healbot to Pitbull + Clique for my healing characters. One thing this setup doesn't seem able to replicate is playing an audio alert when a raid member gets a debuff (that I can cure). I already have it set to highlight the border of the affected raid frame, but if my attention is elsewhere I might not react as quickly.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Just wondering if there's a simple, lightweight addon that does only this. Added bonus if it prints healbot-like text in or near the error frame "Joeblow is afflicted by Shadow Word: Pain", but that's not strictly necessary.
I know Decursive can do this, but I don't want another set of raid frames (why I'm dropping healbot). Even with the frames hidden, I don't want a big and complicated addon like decursive or healbot; I'm trying to keep bloat to a minimum. I didn't find anything on few searches, so I thought I'd see if anyone knew of one out there that already did this.
If not I'll either hack it into Pitbull or write a small standalone addon to do it :)

yeah, it's per trade and per toon. i was a little concerned that it might be annoying to configure, but i can see how one might want first aid or cooking to have a different setup than the real tradeskills.
If the default is all on (same as previous version of skillet) I don't think it'll be an issue. The ones most people would want to turn them off on are probably the exception rather than the rule.
