Nov 19, 2007rushter removed all the ace stuff from wowui, you can go look at his posts about it. i'm sure if they would have just talked to all you mod authors about it or whatever things could have been different =(Posted in: General Chat
Nov 19, 2007you know what, i'm not gonna get all heated up over this, bottom line is it should have been discussed with this site out of respect period.Posted in: General Chat
nobody is acting childish, if they are angry its because you disrespected them by not asking.
as for the curse thing, looks like they made an agreement or something and didn't just take.

Isn't it funny how you don't care about Curse doing exactly the same thing?
i don't use curse either, so i was not aware of this, and if its true please show me, i don't condone anyone doing this at all.
also this topic has now reached the official warcraft ui boards...
and answer the question, you said you had a reason for this, so say it now

We've disabled comments and bug reports and each page links directly to your own mod page. It's not like they're even properly on the site, it's now just a basic link and download button. You don't have to do anything. You don't have to check the site for comments and such. So just what exactly is your problem?
If I saw any valid reason to fully disable this, I would do it immediately, but all I can see currently is a bunch of people saying "because we say so" which is pretty childish.
and i don't see why you even need to do what you are doing, its a mod authors right to chose where they want their mods, you are bypassing this without permission, on your post you said there is a reason your doing this and will be said soon, so why not say it now? you act like your helping wowace out, but did wowace ask you for the help?
how would your site like it if all the mods you host were ripped from it and placed on another site? i wasn't upset about it until i found out you never asked and act like your not doing anything wrong.
edit: what's next, are you wowui folks gonna leech all the mods from wowinterface and curse also?
Nov 19, 2007So this wasn't discussed and that's not good at all. I'm not sure, but the rss feed was most likely meant for personal use not for leeching, which in a way is whats going on here. perhaps the rss feed needs to be shutdown till things are figured out and wowui should respect wowace and not leech their mods to their site until an agreement of some sort can be made.Posted in: General Chat

"Ace2 mods now on WoWUI:IncGamers!
We've just finished setting up a system which syncs up all the Ace mods found at files.wowace.com with this site. You'll notice we've just added over 700 of the Ace mods, which will be automatically updated daily.
Ace authors do not need to manage their mods separately on this site, as our system will check for updates every day. All of the files are mirrored locally on our servers. If you're an Ace author and our bot has added one of your mods, and you'd like to take control of it, please ask for a transfer code by sending Rushster or another admin a PM on the forums. There is another reason we're now doing this, which we will be revealing very soon...watch this space!"
just wondering if this is gonna cause any problems with the site here...i really don't bother with wowui, but i don't want what they are doing overloading this already overloaded place =P
i'm not familiar with this stuff, so that's why i'm asking =)

The savedvariables cleanup is very handy. Nice work :)
Exactly what does this option do? I know I have a lot of saved variables stuff from previously installed addOns. If it deletes that data, woot! :)
omg awesome, i been thinking all week about how nice it would be to have a program to cleanup the savedvariables this is the best feature yet! :D
yeah it just cleans out old savedvariables if you no long have the mod installed.
Jul 12, 2007i click on the banner everytime i update, which is only once a day, no need for folks to do it more then that unless a mod is acting up, i hope you do go the premium deal, and i'm gonna start the donate deal you got setup once i get paid.Posted in: Updaters
i just hope people remember they don't have to do any of this for us, they could just shut the whole thing down and make us wait for updates on wowinteface, they don't owe us anything, this isn't a popularity contest.
wonder if the wowace guy's ever considered joining up with a big group like what wowinterface is with and such, solve the money probs right there i think..maybe...just an idea...(prepairs for the people to freak out over that idea)
Jul 11, 2007meh the add isn't a big deal, I'll keep using it, but yeah i like the idea of a premium membership with an ad free wau version :DPosted in: Updaters
pretty much do the wau free ad deal with only a premium monthly subscription I'm not sure very many will constantly donate like they say they will >.>
Jan 3, 2007not sure why folks make it so hard to find mods, i can find haste's mods easy, same amount of searching just like getting ecb.Posted in: General AddOns
but seriously if its that hard to add another site you your favorites stay with ecb.
