Oct 16, 2008you really need to read back on what kael said and others, they have tried to talk with them they basically flipped this place and others the bird, people have asked for their mods to be removed they lied and only made it look like they did.Posted in: Updaters
its no wonder devs here are starting to dislike users, people act like they are entitled to have whatever they want and screw everyone else, so yeah keep on using that program, who cares right? as long as you get what you want F*** everyone else right?
Oct 15, 2008people who use wowmatrix, thanks for supporting those thieves shows how much you care about the people who's mods you love to use -shakes head-...on a side note i let the curse client do its thing and i havn't had any issues. Its really not so hard to setup up, i have had all my guildies set it up like how i said to and they are doing good also -shrugs-Posted in: Updaters

im sorry for asking this newbish question. probably just me who doesnt understand the updater :)
any response will be much appriciated.
he said it here in this qoute:
Quote from rolfbaNew version:
- Update for Wowace.com and curseforge.com temporarily disabled. (They require users to be logged in to download)
- Delete before update should be fixed
- Only list addons that are being updated, no more listing of "X from Y ... latest version"
- Added reinstall addons functionality
- Fixed some spelling mistakes
Support for wowace.com and curseforge.com updating is disabled atm, as those sites now require you to be logged in for the download link to appear.
Oct 14, 2008Posted in: UpdatersQuote from rolfbaIm sorry for your loss in time, but its not my choice that they have restricted wowace and curseforge to only allow downloading if your logged in.
When i released version 2.0, this was not the case, and wowace updating was working. Now i need to use alot of time to try and figure out how to solve this problem. And im not excactly full of time atm. :/
Eh no worries rolf, no harm done, people can manually update or whatever, not like its gonna kill them. Wonder what people did when there wasn't updaters..sheesh.
Oct 14, 2008I have seen some decent ideas, but i doubt the curse thing is gonna change, they already made the move, they are happy with it.Posted in: Updaters
We can talk different ideas all day long but this is the way it is, the curse client isn't so bad now and its getting better little by little, just people have to use their brains abit now to set it up which isn't bad.
i think people need to read some more faqs too, because if it wasn't for curse this place would have been gone a long time ago, so much for the big bad curse eh?
Oct 7, 2008Well i was one who posted on WOWI that it seemed users weren't wanted here, i wasn't upset about it, just didn't want to rock the boat if that was the case. I been with the site a long time, just havn't posted all that much.Posted in: General Chat
I came here as a user, i remember getting hooked on mods way back when i think cosmos was the big thing, then i moved on to the insomniax package...then started doing my own thing, finding fun mods and messing with them, i wanted to know how they worked so i read peoples posts here, Rownes and so forth.
I still can't get the hang of making mods, just don't have the mental ability for it i guess, but i can edit them to do things i want them to do..least i got that far in understanding the lua stuff.
I know the original intention of this site, one reason i wanted to learn about the mods was so i didn't have to bother the devs with problems, i wanted to fix them myself like i do with everything else in my life hehe...i actually taught all my guildies and others how to handle their mods better, and currently even though i don't much care for the curse updater, i have been showing people how to use it without the troubles others are haveing..Anyways i'm just babbling now...let's just stop fighting i understand the other side better now so i feel much better about the subject.
Sorry if i misunderstood some of the devs feelings here.

Why is there so much issue over the username and password?
All operations to the curse servers require you to be logged into the curse network and have a valid session on our servers. We collect nothing with the username/password. All operations require it, except the news. Checking addon updates? user and pass required. Downloading an addon? user pass required. Getting the addon listing? User and pass required.
The list of useless addons ( compilations / outdated ) is going away very quickly, we've stated this a billion times. When the new curse.com goes live and the old one dies, its all fresh new addons.
wowace addons not showing up? Again, we are pulling from the old curse.com site and a few addons from curseforge.com. Thats all for now. Until wowace updates their site on top of the curseforge software, it wont speak to the client its as simple as that. Once it does it's golden.
Don't want the profiler? You'll be able to remove it pretty soon ( I got ok'd to allow it )
Addon information being sparse? Yeop, got to add all that in.
She did say she got the okay to allow the user to remove it soon, i personally don't mind the profiler...i just want the install using curse clients link to work now =( and any idea when the premium service will be added?
