May 5, 2008After a major snafu on our first Gorefiend encounter I dumped Bongos and went back to the default bars. I added IPopBar from the SVN (but I've been placing the macro on the default bar), and also have OmniCC and RedRange.Posted in: Addon Ideas

If you read my post about 4 posts up the page, you'd see that it does show the icon of the next usable item in my macro. Rabbit's macro does not, because he wants to always see the Charged Crystal Focus icon so he knows how many of those he has.
Hmm...I was trying to create a mana gem version:
From top to bottom those are: Mana Emerald, Ruby, Citrine, Jade, Agate. It shows the icon and tooltip for the Mana Emerald whether I have it in inventory or not and won't display the lower level gems. Other than the icon and tooltip display, it functions perfectly, using the first item listed that I have.
Any ideas on what the issue is?

An addon can't do that - at least not in combat, which is when you'd be using it 95% of the time. Blizzard decided back around WoW 2.0 that addons (I'm talking about addons here, not macros) should not be able to make a single button trigger a different action depending on the situation (there's probably more to it than that, but that's a very basic idea).
AutoRack will do this. For some reason Gello pulled it from WoWI, but you can still find it at WoWUI. It creates a bar of up to 8 buttons that are inventory spaces in your bags. When an item is used, it'll move the next item you've set to that inventory spot. Gets around the "can't change buttons in combat" rule quite nicely.

Oh I know how it works, that's not a problem. But for a lot of people it'll cause issues, which was my main reason for not including something like it in the first place. For example, I'm a habitual mouse scroller. I change camera view a lot, and to have a buff on that would just be silly. But I'll consider it and see what the best approach is for ZOMG.
I do too, and I've never found it an issue when using SmartBuff. Since using ZOMGB, I've bound my Ice Barrier to my "i" key (how original, eh) but find it vastly more irritating to have to reach for "i" than to just wiggle my mouse wheel.
Perhaps a toggle option? "Buff in combat".

AFAIK that is a requirement to run said block. so it wouldnt work without having them installed.
No, you don't understand. The lib files are there, in the StatBlocks_DogTag/Libs folder, but there's something wrong in the .toc, .lua or embeds.xml files so the addon doesn't recognize it has the proper dependencies inside its folder.
May 2, 2008Oooh...that works too (once I figured out StatBlocks_DogTag's externals weren't properly set. That certainly is a much more efficient means of achieving what I want, thank you.Posted in: Addon Ideas
If anyone else is interested, here's the DogTag code I used (copied from PitBull's text threat)
[if HasThreat then
May 2, 2008Well I've achieved what I want through PitBull. Disabled all frames except player, set the size of the bars as small as they would go, set the bars' transparency to 0 and disabled all text except threat.Posted in: Addon Ideas
Seems like a lot of overkill for something so simple.

According to the author, Roath ActionBars has been abandoned and has a taint issue.
I really like this mod, and it would be great if someone would pick it up. I also like the behaviour of IPopBar which lets you click on the perf meter to toggle the default bar look or the IPopBar. Integrating such behaviour into a re-created Roath would be great. Click on something to toggle the default bars, click again to collapse.
