I was under the impression Flexbar, though extremely powerful and configurable, was rather bloated and slowed things down.
I also use PopBar and would love to see a streamlined Ace version.

Sep 21, 2005I would love to see an AddOn developed specifically to take advantage of Ace to replace Wardrobe and EquipManager, rather than just reworked version. Besides, both Wardrobe and EquipManager have quirks and bugs and one of the authors is extremely...tempermental. :wink:Posted in: Addon Ideas
I love the "GUI" function of Sell-O-Matic and Zoot. What I'm picturing is...rather than have specific GUIs for equipment layouts (ala EquipManager and Wardrobe) which take up memory needlessly...just use the default character frame bags, shift-clicking to add/remove items to a set. I've no doubt this would be much smaller and much more efficient than either of the two existing AddOns.
Automatic equiping of sets could be defined, ala Wardrobe and EquipManager: druid forms, warrior stances, rogue stealth, hunter aspects, priest Shadowform, Plaguelands, mounted, swimming, etc.
Commands would be pretty easy to use. Defining a set (pre-named sets for those auto-equiped above) and modifying the equipment in the set. Something along the lines of...
/aceequip create STA <- creates a set named STA
/aceequip modify STA <- opens the character window and bag windows to shift-click inventory (equiped or bagged) to add or delete from the set. Upon mousing over the item, the tooltip would have something similar to "Zoot exception" or "Sell-O-Matic recognized"...perhaps the name of the set(s) that item belongs to.
Sep 18, 2005Timex replaces Chronos. You'll need Timex (the timing AddOn that takes the place of Chronos, is much smaller and more efficient), Ace (because Timex requires Ace), and the Chronos Placeholder (nothing more than TOC file in a directory redirecting Chronos-dependent AddOns to use Timex instead).Posted in: Addon Ideas
Now when you get the Chronos Placeholder don't just plop it into your /Interface/AddOns/ directory unless you've deleted Chronos first.
This modified Wardrobe will still require Chronos or the Timex/Chronos Placeholder it came bundled with. All that's really been changed is the Sea dependency.
If you're interested in another AddOn that's completely free of dependencies... ... I like EquipManager by Saien.
Sep 16, 2005I have a request of anyone interested in creating an AddOn or two. First something that would replace PlayerLinkMenu, but uses Ace and doesn't break other behaviours (ie relinking items, viewing items in the Dressing Room, etc).Posted in: Addon Ideas
Second an AddOn that targets anyone who opens a trade window with me, assuming I'm not in combat.
WoW already has a very basic version of PlayerLinkMenu in place, when you right click on someone's name in the chat window you are given three options (whisper, invite and...can't remember what the last one is). Why it doesn't offer the same options as right clicking on their portrait in the target window is beyond me.

The bar had to be raised to make room for the brownies! :P
My FPS in Ironforge increased dramatically (about +30 FPS) when I eliminated MoveAnything! and EquipCompare. Thank you all for providing the community not only with such useful AddOns, but for providing us with such efficient AddOns! Can't wait to see what my FPS will be in MC when all the mages are Blizzard'ing the Firelords and Core Hound packs.
