Sep 5, 2006Stage 1: Small panel; vertical or horizontal; draggable -- grabs minimap buttons and lines them up in a single rowPosted in: Addon Ideas
Stage 2: button reordering; snap-to window edge; slide-in, slide-out tray (like the Mac control tray thingie or that annoying WoW aggro addon with the arrow and helmet)
Stage 3: row, grid, radial alignment options; FuBar integration; etc., etc.
No pressure ;P

Is there a way of having the cooldowns inside the button?
Bartender2 plays nice with

Sep 4, 2006Well, found the Visor Wiki, and yes, Visor does, but quite as given.Posted in: General Chat
/vz set f=MinimapCluster#p1=BOTTOMLEFT#pr=PlayerFrame#p2=BOTTOMRIGHT#x=0#y=0
What actually works:
/vz set f=MinimapCluster p1=BOTTOMLEFT pr=PlayerFrame p2=BOTTOMRIGHT x=0 y=0
Sep 4, 2006Okay, this works for Bartender2, but not for a couple of other things ... feh ...Posted in: General Chat
Visor provides a way to reparent stuff and a way to control the x,y settings of a frame, but is there anyway in Visor to do the SetPoint equivalent?
ie. I want to center something exactly on the bottom of the screen, lua and Discord both have a variant of the following:
frame:SetPoint("BOTTOM", UIParent, "BOTTOM", 0, 0)
Sep 4, 2006Well ... found a *cough*fix ... relies on an event though ...Posted in: General Chat
function PositioningFixes_OnLoad() Bar3:ClearAllPoints() Bar3:SetPoint("BOTTOM", UIParent, "BOTTOM", 0, 0) Bar2:ClearAllPoints() Bar2:SetPoint("BOTTOM", Bar3, "TOP", 0, -4) Bar1:ClearAllPoints() Bar1:SetPoint("BOTTOM", Bar2, "TOP", 0, -4) end local frame = CreateFrame("Frame") frame:SetScript("OnEvent", PositioningFixes_OnLoad) frame:RegisterEvent("PLAYER_LOGIN")
Course, now my server is down for a restart so I can't even check if this holds across zoning ;P
Sep 4, 2006[Yes, I know I could do this with Visor easier and with less hassle.]Posted in: General Chat
Anyways, I'm getting nitpicky on pixel alignment of various UI elements and I've been playing around with creating my own addons with one or two tiny code snippets to reposition various UI elements to precise positions. BUT now I want to position the frames from another addon (the bars from Bartender - for me, easier and more accurate than dragging the frames around). While I'm in-game, I can execute the following from LuaSlinger with no problem and the three bars center themselves on the bottom of the screen:
Bar3:ClearAllPoints() Bar3:SetPoint("BOTTOM", UIParent, "BOTTOM", 0, 0) Bar2:ClearAllPoints() Bar2:SetPoint("BOTTOM", Bar3, "TOP", 0, -4) Bar1:ClearAllPoints() Bar1:SetPoint("BOTTOM", Bar2, "TOP", 0, -4)
But if I create a standalone mod, list Bartender2 as the dependency, and place the same lines into the lua file, when my character enters WoW, I get the following error:
attempt to index global `Bar3' (a nil value)
Now, obviously, I don't want to edit Bartender2, I just want my addon to piggyback onto whatever is there. In otherwords, how do I properly reference another addon's frames?
Sep 4, 2006if it's actually a button, the following two lines are required, one hides the overlay texture, the second zooms the icon texture to remove the builtin border on the icon texture:Posted in: General AddOns
_G["ButtonName".."NormalTexture"]:SetAlpha(0) _G["ButtonName".."Icon"]:SetTexCoord(0.07, 0.93, 0.07, 0.93)
Sep 3, 2006This started because 1) I was bored, and 2) snurre made some comment on IRC after half-a-dozen people kept asking him about the BantoBar texture ... Basically, we have several addons that use bar textures and each one distributes its own selection. The whole point of programming is to reuse ;PPosted in: General Chat
This is going to need a real credits file it that's possible (some of these textures have been around for awhile now). These textures have been collected from XRS, otravi_CastingBar, ag_UnitFrames, and otravi_UnitFrames. I have evened out the top and bottom borders on Otravi.tga and I have removed the black line at the top of Smooth.tga that's been bugging me forever.
I'm going to leave it up to the Ace gurus to figure out how to make use of this, but there should be someway (similar to FuTextures) to create this as a separate standalone that any addon needing bar textures can just grab from the supplied list. (ie. use the same texture selection between XRS, oCB, oUF, agUF, CandyBars, PerfectRaid, PerfectTargets, Squishy, etc., etc.)
