    I'm interested in being able display indicators based on the values of certain properties, rather than just auras. For example, on Chimaeron I'd like to be able to have an indicator of some variety to show people with less than 10k health and on Cho'gall/Atramedes I'd like to have indicators for different Corruption/Sound values (say green < 25%, yellow < 50%, orange < 75%, red for anything else).

    Is anyone aware of a method/plugin for doing this already?

    The other issue I have is that when in party I make it use raid frames instead. However there is no option to make party pets use raid pet frames instead which would seem to be a logical and useful option.

    This is a shot in the dark but I was just wondering if anyone has still got this addon lying around anywhere even though it doesn't work any more? I've managed to mislay the code and it's no longer in the SVN (just in case anyone is wondering I'm not intending to update it again but I would like the code for various reasons).

    Sorry I've been meaning to reply to this thread for a while but kept forgetting until I got a thread update email just now. Not got anything done on this, due to a combination of real life work, burn out and boredom. I've got a slightly updated version of MageFu that I'm currently using but it's so out of date library wise and no doubt it'll fall over as soon as the patch comes out. One issue I had was I only managed to get 1 other mage in my raid group using it which meant motivation and testing were a problem on my part. If anyone wants to take over, I can send my current version to them. It doesn't error but I think it may have more bugs than the version that is up (at least for English versions of the client. My current version is at least localised although not with the latest BabbleLib (wtf did it need updating anyway!?!)).

    I'm getting completely held up by rl/raid at the moment unfortunately. Currently I've got a few really annoying things to fix before I even get on to new functionality.

    • Login/Logout issue
    • Hearthstone bind location function doesn't work (and sometimes gives completely false information O.o)
    • Trade function randomly not working
    • Menu randomly rearranging itself (I've checked sort order values many times and they're correct - 2 menu items seem to randomly switch around though)
    • Ace Locale/BabbleLib update - not sure if I need to upgrade to 2.2 or not.

    I'd hold fire until next release (which I promise I'm doing my best to get out - real life and raiding are just getting in the way at the moment) as I'm now using BabbleLib and have made a few other changes that should mean MageFu will work in any region. The menus will still need translating but as I've added and reordered stuff that is very different from the previous list. However after next release, if you still want to translate it, email would be fine. Thanks :)

    1. If you read the 1st post or in fact many of my replies you'll see what that I already know about the 1 stack thing.
    2. I tried to auto check the accept button but due to the way WoW seems to process commands it's almost impossible to do automatically (sometimes it accepts, then put food/water into window, negating the accept).

    Thanks, I'll have a look into it. I think I managed to reproduce it once yesterday. Unfortunately my server has 36 hours downtime now and more than likely I'll be raiding Thursday, and will be away until Sunday after that. It's not looking good for finisihing this release. I may try to get an interim release without any new features but some bug fixes on Thursday if I have time.

    Agree, this looks like a really interesting project but if it's oSkin only I'll be giving it a miss (or hacking it until it's not oSkin).

    1. It's definitely a little flakey at the moment and is something that I will endeavour to fix in the next release (which is going to be this week assuming I can get a night or 2 off raiding).

    2. I've not seen this or heard of this happening to anyone I know. I'm think this is specific to your environment I'm afraid. I very much doubt it is an issue with MageFu.

    As it says in the first post this has been an issue since 1st release. This may get fixed in the next release but I can't promise it. I am aware of it though.

    Thanks will add these to my ever growing list of fixes/changes. Still trying to find a night where I'm not needed to raid to get some proper time to fix issues and add the couple of new features I'd like to get in. Should be sometime this week though when I get the next release up.

    I'll also be sorting a wiki page soon too.

    It's a bit cumbersome to have to go through 4 steps to portal to ironforge - I can type /cast teleport: ironforge faster than navigating the submenus

    No indication of location and cooldown for hearthstone
    Purely cosmetic I guess :)

    Massive menu
    Would it be possible to move all the settings and tweaking functionality into an Options submenu, and put all the transportation in the main right click menu instead?

    Other than that, I'm loving it so far! Quanjure is off my UI :)


    Yes been thinking about the size of the menus. It frustrates me trying to get to the portals and stuff and I wrote the damn thing so I'll definitely be looking into sorting something for next release.

    Location/cooldown of hearthstone should be easy to sort too :) (I also intend to get the engineering trinkets in at some point - just haven't got round to sorting it yet)

    Currently working on localisation (or more accurately tearing my hair out over Babble-Zone-2.1 not working!) and decent buff tracking.

    Ability to set limit on food/water.

    There are 3 options:
    None - don't limit. Will keep conjuring water (and food if targetting a class that has been setup to require food)
    Minimum - will conjure until you have at least the amount of food and water set.
    Maximum - will conjure until you've got the amount of food and water set. Will not go over the limit.

    Fixed 3 issues mentioned in a post above regarding lower level characters.

    If the user doesn't have any ranks of the spell you are interested in you can simply check the first param returned for nil.


    Superb! Don't think I'll get this into the next release but will endeavour to do so for the 1 after. Thanks again.

You can also use babble-spell to take care of any localizations of spell names for you. Since more than likly users will already have those libs loaded due to other ace2 addons you basicly get them for free.


    I've been looking at the Babble stuff recently but haven't got round to seeing how hard to implement it is. Thanks on the spell-cache tip :)

    EDIT: Is there any SpellCache documentation in the Wiki or elsewhere? Currently I get an error every time I try to search for anything on the Wiki.

    I have a 24 level mage and to conjur anything I had to reduce the conjur stones down to 0. It showed I had no water/food even though I did untill I lowered the max rank of food/water down to 3 my max rank at this level. I could only get it to conjur water at that point, until then it just keep making me drink. Still can't get it to conjur food at all.


    This is something I haven't been able to test as I don't have a lower level mage. I am however endeavouring to make it work for lower level mages.

    The issues I know about currently:
    1. FuBar display - always tries to show food/water count according to the max rank that has been set without regard for level. Fix in next release
    2. If it can't conjure gems due to level, won't continue on to try food/water. Fix in next release
    3. Teleport/portal menus not level dependant. Fix in next release

    In regards food currently the conjure option will only conjure food when you have less than 3 in you inventory (prevent going over 1 stack with rank 6 food). The next release I'm adding in options for limits on how much food/water can be conjured which should in most cases be enough to sort the food issue. With the current system, if you want food, set food option for a class, selected a PC of that class and start conjuring.

    One thing I don't do is scan the spellbook to ensure the spells are available. I assume once you've reached the level to cast a certain spell you have it. The reason for the max food/water thing is mainly to prevent issues with the final ranks of conjure water/food that need to be obtained from drops/quests. I may add spellbook scanning in future but for now I didn't think it was really worth it, when a small amount of setup time can get round any problems.
