Oh, darn. Anyone know of a similar addon? Something that keeps track of how well you heal, how much/if you overheal?

    There aren't any.

The only good one is HealTracker by Satrina. (Link: http://evilempireguild.org/ui/healtracker.html )

Unfortunately the catch is that it only monitors heals incoming on YOU. I bugged Satrina for a while a few months back to make a sync feature for it, but I guess she just lost interest and now the "HealTracker Sync" page has been deleted off her site. =\

DamageMeters would be great since it syncs and everyone has it, but the mod author is very very VERY against the idea of adding it. (Check out the curse page for mine and her comments)

I wish I knew lua more so I could make a mod myself, but my mind can only go so far with this stuff.

Man how I wish someone would make a mod for overheals...

Errrrrr.... it's already been done. (If you're talking about aceing CTRA)

Just look in the AddOn section for oRA and XRaid - they're what you want.

Yeah, I'm going to test out XRaid for our raid later today. But it doesn't have all the features that CTRaid does (yet?). Anyway, I don't foresee CTRaid's current monopoly on the raid mod market being diminished any time soon. It would be nice if the original mod was ACE'd

Thalinon is right, it's already done.

I ditched CTRA a long time ago. My guild requires CTRA, they get mad if people don't have it. They don't even notice I'm not using CTRA but the Ace alternatives.

oRA is the Ace'd eqivelant of CTRA. It's fully modularized and compatable with CTRA. Supports Durrability reports, Item reports, reisitances, Ready checks/votes, main tank lists, ... I might be missing something. The only thing it leaves out id decursive, which really doesn't belong in a raid management addon anyways, it should be seperate. Use decursive, or bug someone to make an ace'd decursing mod, or learn how to decurse manually ;-).
Go check out the forum post on oRA. http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php/topic,1158.0.html

Xraid is the pair to oRA. All XRaid does is provide unit frames for raids. That's it. It hooks into oRA to give you similar features as CTRA's unit frames, but oRA is not reqired to use Xraid, and Xraid is not required to use oRA.
    XRaid is here: http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php/topic,38.0.html

Other unit frames can be used too. I use MG2 ace'd, and I anxiously await the MG2 MT frames because besides the fact that I don't see MTs, everything else in MG2 is gorgeous. http://www.wowace.com/forums/index.php/topic,745.0.html

Please go check out oRA. It's awesome. But on another note, perhaps someone should create a oRA gui. That's the main difference. Everyone who uses CTRA is used to menus to change all their settings, oRA only has the slash command. I love that personally, no need to have config dialogs if you can do it with slash commands so it saves me a bit of memory. But it could be implemented as seperate oRA module to provide an options menu.

Well here's the thing. CTRaid by itself takes around 2700 kb memory usage. I'm not a fan of Blizzard's default raid frames, or Minigroup. That leaves me with XRaid or Clad's PerfectRaid.

PerfectRaid is great; it uses about 300 or less kb. Downright amazing. But... the mod is in beta and crashes your game... So that option goes out the window.

So now there's XRaid. The thing about this mod is that it takes around 1700 kb usage. Combined with oRA and modules, and I'm back up to CTRaid levels. So...... what?... The MAIN benefit that I was personally looking for (memory usage) I'm not even going to get.

... So I'm back to square one.

And THAT is why I was asking about Ace'd CTraid.

posted a message on Request: HitsMode replacement
I would definitely be interested in an Ace'd HitsMode replacement.

It's one of my biggest mods right now in terms of memory usage, coming in at almost 2000 kb (according to Warmup), where the vast majority of my mods are at 300 or lower.

HitsMode is a really great mod; it just needs some performance tweaking. ;)

posted a message on Alphamap Ace'd
Here's a current list of all my addons and their resource usage (according to Warmup).

My biggest addon is AlphaMap, and nothing else comes close, save CTRaid. I'm not really a fan of Metamap, although it's just as much of a hog anyway, if not moreso with all those extraneous features.

I just don't see why AlphaMap should be such a huge mod... Would anyone here know how to and/or be up to the challenge of finding a way to fix that? hehe :)

(PS anyone know how to make some of those other big mods more efficient? TipBuddy, HitsMode, etc?)

posted a message on Simple notepad type addon.
I just tried both these mods.

    Very nice!

I've been using Jotter for MONTHS now and I can definitely say TinyPad OWNS Jotter.

    Awesome mod.

Notepad, however, somehow jacks your keyboard no matter what, as long as the window is open. Even if you don't have the cursor active (ie you hit escape), you can't move your character around with your keyboard or anything until you close the Notepad window completely. With Jotter you can, and with TinyPad you can as well. Not sure why that is with Notepad, but /shrug, I'll definitely be using TinyPad from now on!! :)

posted a message on DamageMeters + Overheal?
DamageMeters is quite a handry mod and what's even better is that it has such a great sync feature built into it. Now, for the longest time I've been wishing that this mod would add one simple feature: overhealing. Unfortunately, the original author recently posted and said that he wasn't interested in this feature and probably wouldn't implement it any time soon. (DOH!!!)

So I was wondering, would anyone else be willing to do something like this? And of course, maybe Ace it up in the process? =]

I've found a great mod for tracking overhealing, one that is very, very accurate. It's called HealTracker :) The only problem is that it only tracks healing done on yourself. Bummer... :( Anyway, something like this mod's functionality could be implemented into DamageMeters and with the sync feature, it would undoubtedly be a huge success, while still not losing out on any accuracy since it would only actually track healing on yourself (and then sync to share).

Anyone up to the task? :)

posted a message on Request: MyBank ACEd?
I'm currently using MyBank and MyInventory but I'd like something a little cleaner and more efficient. Would anyone be able to ace up this mod?

Or suggest a similar type of mod for viewing bank items away from the bank in a 1-window style?

    Thanks
