I'll keep plugging at it then. Thanks. I asked because I have a much easier time learning through experience than example. If I can read the basics of something and then try it out myself first, then I'll have a much stronger grasp of it than if I sit down and look at someone else's work and try to learn from that.
I wonder: I know it defeats the purpose of commenting the add-ons myself, but in the classroom section on the site, could we post commented code and files for examples?

Dec 13, 2005Can anyone suggest a good programming primer? One for the very beginners through mid-experience, with examples that I can work through myself? (I learn much better through experience.) I know some of you have had schooling in this and might have textbooks or other such things to recommend.Posted in: General Chat
Nov 17, 2005I'm on an RP server, too; I started on Cenarion Circle and moved to Twisting Nether when the RP-PvP servers opened (or truthfully a few weeks after). On CC I found the atmosphere to be more mature than on a regular or PvP server; on TN, I've found a truly, truly awesome (and pretty big) guild to play with, so even if we have some PvP server a-holes, I can turn off /general and have the best time I've had in WoW.Posted in: General Chat
Like Rowne, I find a good session of roleplaying much more fun than any instancing or BGing or anything of the sort, and also like Rowne I think having fun is more important than adhering to any crappy "RP rules" people seem to make up on the fly. Staying in character is pretty important to me, though.
Oct 20, 2005That is the bad thing about the mods: if they work, people just download 'em and forget about them. If they're buggy, we're a rip-roaring back to the forums to post the error and wait (sometimes not so patiently) for a new version.Posted in: Addon Ideas
1.5 works beautifullly for me--very glad for this, too! I love everything about CS.
Oct 18, 2005Already started playing around with these frames and Visor, though I can't seem to get the syntax right for a PLAYER_REGEN_DISABLED event (for show on combat and hide on out of combat). I went through BFD with them on last night, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get used to it or not. (Maybe if I can get that script right.)Posted in: General Chat
Oct 3, 2005Let me take the opportunity with Rowne's new version of Visor to ask someone to please, pretty please?, adapt Flextotem (http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=2298) for Visor. I know that Flextotem registers some new events when the totems are dropped--is this possible with Ace/Timex/Visor? If I could get rid of Flexbar, even if the Visor learning curve is steep, I'd do it in a second.Posted in: Addon Ideas
