still having it close in the middle of updates:

    4:25:21 PM: Addonpath is: C:/agames/World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns/
4:25:21 PM: Getting online addon list.
4:25:24 PM: Updating installed addons data.
4:25:30 PM: Updating of addons started...
    4:25:32 PM: Unsplitting: Babble-2.2
    4:25:33 PM: Splitting: Babble-2.2
    4:25:34 PM: Unsplitting: BigWigs
    4:25:35 PM: Splitting: BigWigs

perhaps there's not enough info in the log to find out where it's tripping up. maybe you could add more events/points since it gets re-written each time (and therefore won't endlessly grow).

in the meantime, i just keep re-opening and updating until the list is empty.

    thanks.

This sounds very weird, could you upload your JWowUpdater.log somewhere, after the program has crashed? Maybe if you run JWU from a command prompt, it might give an error message to help clarify what is going on.

    /Rolf

nothing was reported to the command line. there were about 10 mods it wanted to update. the log is this after the crash:

    11:25:06 AM: Addonpath is: C:/agames/World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns/
11:25:07 AM: Getting online addon list.
11:25:09 AM: Updating installed addons data.
11:26:18 AM: Updating of addons started...
    11:26:21 AM: Unsplitting: Babble-2.2
    11:26:22 AM: Splitting: Babble-2.2

the only thing i see that i think was happening yesterday is that it was also occurring when babble was trying to update.

actually, i just re-opened it. babble was no longer in the list. the new log:

    11:27:46 AM: Addonpath is: C:/agames/World of Warcraft/Interface/AddOns/
11:27:46 AM: Getting online addon list.
11:27:47 AM: Updating installed addons data.
11:27:51 AM: Updating of addons started...

again, it just closed at that point. no changelog. when i re-opened it a third time it said no addons needed updating, but i very surely saw 3 things listed the second time and the log seems to indicate nothing done ><

could it be my odd game path? hard to believe no one else is having this and that's one thing i probably don't have in common with other people.

i'm apparently on jre1.6.0_05, so updating to jre1.6.0_07 now.

update: it still did it after updating java. it almost seemed like the last time it closed, that it updated the 5 or so mods that were available first (no changelog, and that is still checked), but i'm sure the other times it didn't complete the full updates. i have yet to have an empty directory or un-working mod from this, but i've only been using it for a few days.

i started using jwu this week (1.98). today it seemed to be crashing completely (with no error) during updates. i have it set to show the changes on completion and today when i ran it, it kept closing during the update with no change window shown. because it closed immediately, i didn't get to see any possible messages in the built-in output window. it seemed like it was doing some updates before each crash and i finally got through them after about 4 times of opening it. i was presented with the changes screen finally on that last try. not sure what the problem is.

someone helped me a while back with script commands i could put in a macro to lock/unlock pb frames, and to sort by class or group. i'm wondering if there's a command i can issue to force a raid frame to highlight (the border) as though the person had a debuff that's curable by me, even if briefly.

    thanks in advance :D

Same. I've downgraded to 635214.4 (also avoiding auras not showing in lower raid frames) until that issue is worked out, since the aggro alert helps tremendously when raid healing.

i think i'm also having that aura issue now. last night i my hots were just not showing up for certain people. i don't think i got an error before it started (like what was happening on early 2.4 ptr) :/

A little question while im here is it possible to have group numbers for each group on in raids? As in the group headers. When im playing my healer and the groups are moved around for different encounters i tend to move my groups around to create space on screen then to see which group i may have been moved into i have to open the raid and check see which group ive been moved to. If there is an option there already to do this sorry for the dumb question... again i cant see where that is.

    Thanks.

i have group # right after the person's name in their raid unit frame, done by using this for Raid > Texts > Name > Custom:

    [Name:ClassColor] [AFKDND:Angle] [RaidGroup:ClassColor:Paren]

(it's the last dogtag there that does it)

    Hi,

small problem with aggrocoloring on playerframes. When i get the aggro, and hold it, after a short period of time, the aggrocoloring is gone. But i still have the aggro of the mob.

    regards, Sha

was there any update to this? a guildie and i are also experiencing it and we much preferred the old method. if you happen to miss someone's aggro flash you're kinda back to not even having banzai, that is: looking for health drops as they happen, and you kinda lose the pro-activity it provided :/

    thanks in advance.

edit: this is with raid frames. i'm not sure if the other frames are changed or not.

Chaws: that's a clever setup, and i do like it (although i prefer the current method myself). However there are some more important things on top of the priority list (namely support for HoT's in LibHealComm-3.0), so it'll have to wait unfortunately. Sorry :|

no problem at all. just throwing ideas out there. HoT support sounds great... i'm a tree druid :D

Could work. I think I'd prefer the end spark [snip]

As for that spark, I'd make it customizable by the severity of the overheal. Green = 0-10%, Yellow = 11-25%, Red = 26+% of the heal amount. Or something like that, with user-defined colors for each step.

yeah, that would be nice too. i'm up for anything that will allow the visibility of overheal without the overlapping issue.

I was thinking a good solution to the inverse bar covering up the current health would be to make it half-height, like so:

that's kinda what i'm talking about.

Currently it is coloured by amount of overheal (red = overheal, green = ok). Do you want to override that, and just have a fixed colour for it?

the option of it, please :D i'm finding that when there is no overheal at all, the green of incoming heals nearly matches the green of current health and the only thing that indicates the actual current health is the little white strip in between them, which, in the case of raid frames, is quite small. this could mislead me into not also trying to throw a heal to someone who really needs it on occasion. i keep my health bars at bright green always and use a bright red background to provide the contrast my eye needs to "see" dmg.

as for having the inverse option go to the left instead, that wouldn't help me either, as i have the bars right next to each other and it would still have the same issue. like so:

    group 1 group 2 group 3
    player player player
    player player player
    player player player
    player player player
    player player player

if you're going to allow an endcap (i think you called it a spark), that color should also be customizable please (i know i'm a pita :p ).

    thanks again :D

If you have any issues or suggestions, please don't hesitate to post them here, and I'll see what I can do.

I was pleasantly surprised when my Pitbull raid frames started showing the estimated heals /swoon

Two things maybe you can look at:

    1) I'd like to be able to tweak the coloring of the VH part.

    2) The Overheal portion extends beyond the Pitbull raid frame in question. On my setup, it is overlapping onto the next group's bars (to the right). Maybe have an option to either put an "overheal cap" at the very right in the health bar, which is simply a 4ish pixel wide area of a very distinguishable (and customizable) color. This would tell you that the person will be overhealed, but not by how much. Alternatively, maybe allow an Inverse Overheal option, that causes a colored (again customizable) bar to go from the right edge of the health bar back toward the left. It may need to have two different colors, so you can still read their current health. If that made any sense :D

    Thanks for your hard work!
