    How would you make Guild_Roster_Update run when somebody joins your guild? I'd assume it would be
    Guild_Roster_Update(Join)
    but that doesn't work. Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

    You have to make sure CallbackHandler is being loaded from your AddOn's ToC file - before your code is loaded, as well.

    i'll have to try that, thanks!

    writing up a button code for someone but i've hit a problem that i dont know how to fix, being a beginner.
    here's the code
    <Ui xmlns=<Ui xmlns="http://www.blizzard.com/wow/ui/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.blizzard.com/wow/ui/FrameXML/UI.xsd">
        <Button name="NotepadButton" parent="UIParent" inherits="UIPanelButtonTemplate2" clampedToScreen="true" movable="true" text="BasicNotepad">
            <Size><AbsDimension x="50" y="25"/></Size>
        <Anchors>
            <Anchor point="CENTER">
            <Offset><AbsDimension x="0" y="0"/></Offset>
          </Anchor>
        </Anchors>
        <Scripts>
            <OnLoad>
              self:SetText("BNote");
              self:RegisterForDrag("LeftButton");
            </OnLoad>
          <OnClick>
                 BasicNotepad.lua
          </OnClick>
    	      <OnDragStart>self:StartMoving()</OnDragStart>
          <OnDragStop>self:StopMovingOrSizing()</OnDragStop>
          <OnEnter>
              GameTooltip:SetOwner(self, "ANCHOR_TOPLEFT");
            GameTooltip:SetText("Click to open BasicNotepad");
            GameTooltip:Show();
          </OnEnter>
          <OnLeave>
              GameTooltip:Hide();
          </OnLeave>
        </Scripts>
        </Button>
    </Ui>

    and the error

     line 21:
       Cannot find a library instance of "CallbackHandler-1.0".

    I assume that i'm missing something in the code, but another addon I made with a very similar code works just fine.
    all help is greatly appreciated

    Since the project is on WoWAce, file uploads are not available: You must use a VCS (Version Contol System). If that isn't what you want, I can move the project to CurseForge where file uploads are supported.

    moving it over would be awesome, ill keep in mind that wowace doesn't support uploads. Thanks a ton in advance

    Are you trying to help the guy or confuse him beyond repair?

    LeaveParty() and ForceQuit() are Blizzard functions so they're definitely "there".
    His original xml was also perfectly valid (name is an attribute he doesn't need to open or close anything)

    Felpalidan, post the entirety of your code including the filenames where xml and / or lua resides.

    Example:
    You have an addon folder named RageQuit with a file named RageQuit.toc with a reference to RageQuit.xml?

    In the folder Ragequit I have the lua file(rage.lua)
    if GetRealNumPartyMembers()>0 then
        LeaveParty()
    else
        ForceQuit()
    end

    RageButton.XML

    <Button>
     <name>="RageQuit"</Name> parent="UIParent" clampedToScreen="true" movable="true">
         <Size><AbsDimension x="40" y="22"/></Size>
      <Scripts>
        <OnClick>
    	 Rage.Lua
    	</OnClick>
      </Scripts>
    </Button>

    and the ToC if you need it(ragequit.toc)
    ## Interface: 40000
    ## Title: RageQuit
    ## Notes:
    ## Author: Felpalidan
    ## Version: 0.1

    Rage.Lua

    Ragebutton.xml

    for the TOC i've also tired swapping the order of the lua and XML files but nothing happens

    **edit**
    <Button>
     <name>="RageQuit"</Name> parent="UIParent" clampedToScreen="true" movable="true">
         <Size><AbsDimension x="40" y="22"/></Size>
      <Scripts>
        <OnClick>
    	 if GetRealNumPartyMembers()>0 then
        LeaveParty()
    else
        ForceQuit()
    end

    	</OnClick>
      </Scripts>
    </Button>

    works the best, but the button doesn't appear

    Are you trying to make this button clickable on your screen somewhere, or making this a key bind?

    ** edit, my code above will always quit groups or the game. Probably not what you want. The OnEvent() should be changed to OnClick()

    yea I was just bout to say that- i'll tell you the result of this in a few min

      <Scripts>

    <Button name="RageQuit" parent="UIParent" clampedToScreen="true" movable="true">

      <Scripts>

    im making a quick addon that will,when you press a button, quit a group if you're in one,and if not. exit the game.
    here is the code for the button's functions(where the error is occurring)
    if UnitInParty("Player")
    then LeaveParty
    end

    else ForceQuit
    end

    and the error
      'end' expected (to close 'if' at line 1) near '<eof>'

    any and all help would be greatly appreciated
