    posted a message on Shadowed Unit Frames [official]
    Is there a way to have the empty bar on the player and target unit frames behave as the health bar?

    I have the empty bar at top configured to display player name data text and the health bar below with % health and total health. However the empty bar is very distracting as it does not change. If it can behave just like the health bar below it it will be very helpful.

    know this is a/n (pre-)alpha version but, in case you didn't know you can do this, you can update SavedVariables in newer versions unless you have drastically altered their format (even then you can, but it's not so nice). This is how I do it in nanoTalk:
    thanx nano, i can implement that next time i change the db.

    Trying to set up a simple test, using OnTime. After making a rule and saving+enabling, i get status:nil or status:false. It also says Status: Active(EXPIRED) on the top.
    ah there was a bug in the OnTime status checking. Fixed.

    Also added modifiable snooze duration.

    did u reset saved vars? This build is incompatible with older reminders.

    /script ReminderDB=nil should fix it.

    r5 has been published on curseforge.

    * Complete re-write of how rules behave and are managed.
    ** Added the RulesManager module that handles rules management
    ** Added support for more rule types : OnEvent,OnShow,OnHide,OnEnter,OnClick and OnDoubleClick, OnTime, location, validity
    ** Decoupled the handlers for all rule types
    ** All rules use secure hooking functionality to prevent tainting
    * ObjectManager and EventManager are now defunct. A new object repository module is coming in a
    future build to organize buttons, frames and events you might want to use in rules.
    * Added a few modifiable global options
    * Added placeholders for Object Repository, Silent Mode (NYI)
    * Added a plethora of display options to tweak and modify the pop-up window
    * Fixed miscellaneous bugs

    posted a message on Custom AceGUI widget with AceConfig
    So i have written a custom AceGUI widget for tabular display of data. Its pretty limited functionality right now, just a bunch of font strings tagged together in table format.

    Now I wanna use this custom display in my AceConfig3 dialogs. I saw the docs and lua for this but am a little lost.
    temp = LibStub("AceAddon-3.0"):NewAddon("temp_addon","AceConsole-3.0","AceEvent-3.0","AceTimer-3.0")
    a = LibStub("AceGUI-3.0")

    function temp:OnEnable()

    frame = a:Create("Frame")
    th = a:Create("TableEntry")
    th:SetFields({20,100,100,100})
    th:SetText({"No.","Handler","Subject","Args"})
    frame:AddChild(th)
    local c=1
    local t = {}
    while c<10 do
    	t[c] = a:Create("TableEntry")
    	t[c]:SetFields({20,100,100,100})
    	t[c]:SetText({c,"","",""})
    	frame:AddChild(t[c])
    	c=c+1
    end
    frame:Show()
    end

    That is more or less the wrapper code of how the widget works. The problem is according to docs AceConfigDialog only supports "select" and "input" type of custom widgets. I am not looking for any user input whatsoever from this widget. Is it possible to hack something to support "description" type?

    Right now it just registers custom event handlers. For example for mailbox open you use MAIL_SHOW in event. I am building a table of common events, which will be user editable so that should get us there.

    posted a message on Event-driven notepad/reminder addon
    I am currently working on one,

    -reminders are rule based, the time being a event in itself
    -when all the rules governing a certain reminder are satisfied it triggers it
    -can configure daily,weekly, one time, custom reminders
    -can format the look/feel/sink of the reminder

    biggest 'stuck' atm in my implementation is that the reminders table is 3-4 deep nested table and i will hate parsing that every on update to check if any reminders work. I am trying to figure out a better way.

    I will make a beta available once it gets somewhere

    posted a message on dispatching events at a specefic time
    Is it possible to schedule an event to be dispatched at a specific time of the day (not a delay, a specific time, like say 4pm). Alternatively, is it possible to "trigger" an event at a specific time of the day?

    I am thinking it might be possible using a check in the OnUpdate function of the addon, but i am a little lost. Any comments on this?

    posted a message on How to hide the MailFrame Mailicon?
    texture on the corner of the Mailframe. For the time being i have limited myself to design around that texture, but removing it is still a open problem.

    I think this is not the only texture that does not have a reference, there are others too in blizz code. So finding how to fix it is a good excercise.

    I need to hide this, or atleast have a way to change it to a custom made blp. I was looking at Blizzard lua code and they have not specified a name for this texture layer. How do I access it?

    Here is the code snippet from Blizzard MailFrame.xml

    <Layers>
    	<Layer level="BACKGROUND">
    		<Texture file="Interface\MailFrame\Mail-Icon">
    			<Size>
    				<AbsDimension x="58" y="58"/>
    			</Size>
    			<Anchors>
    				<Anchor point="TOPLEFT">
    					<Offset>
    						<AbsDimension x="10" y="-8"/>
    				    </Offset>
    				</Anchor>
    			</Anchors>
    		</Texture>
    	</Layer>
