    Just tried it on different instance maps, if I scale the frame down or up... the notes stay on their spot like they should for me.

    While I read this, I thought it would be great to have a checkbox in the create and edit note frames "show on minimap". Could decide for every personal made note if I want them on the minimap that way.

    (and I guess, minimap filter for Herbalism/Ore modules should be possible too now? For example if I want dreamfoil shown on the minimap, but not on the worldmap)

    In Cartographer_Fishing you missed two commas I think, one behind L["Pure Water"] ... and one after the closing }

    and in Cartographer_Treasure, a friend got the following error with the german client

    While you're at it, you might just steal the code to add icon alpha, and icon size to your modules out of the other carto modules ;-)

    Theoretically the icons are great, it's just that black background - I'm not sure what to do exactly in a painting program to get rid of it in WoW.

    Kodewolf, just installed Vendors, Trainers, Quests again ... main reason I don't have them installed is btw a) their ugly icons with the black background and even more important b) I don't want them visible all the time, but if I disable the modul no new notes get created. Some kind of filter would be good (like in herbalism, mining, fishing...) even "all" or "none" alone would be enough. Could collect npc's, share them, but don't have to see them all the time ;-)

    Maybe Devs should follow some guidelines (independently of subforums, just thought it fits here) for there "startpost" for a new addon. For example ALLWAYS include infos on where you want bugreports etc. Most topics don't include such infos in the startpost. That would avoid posts that actually should just go to the prefered bugreport tool.

    Would recommend other links too, for example a link-line like the following would be nice


    with Prat as example -- just an idea to avoid some useless posts. If these infos are always there in the startpost. Maybe a template to use could be build, a consistent look of the startpost of new addons make it easier (e.g. bugreport urls always at the same spot).

    Sounds like you changed something, I can't locate any new commits to fishing or treasure modul on the Trac Revision Log view though... did I miss something? ;-)

    I don't think that I have that evil players in my guild, that would spam the hidden guild addon channel with incorrect sell values ;-) ... Guess the problem was there, when addons had to use usual custom chatchannels.

    Thanks Kagaro, would be great to use the modules without trouble because of other language clients.

    I'll test Trainers, Vendors, Quests later, when Noteshare knows about them and I find a friendly german-client-using soul to help me in my guild ;-)

    Noteshare isn't sharing Trainer, Vendor and Quests notes I think (or does it share them as part of "general"?). In blizzards localization mania, more and more npc's are going to get totally localized names I fear... so without a database that holds every npc name in every language (where are we? 5? 6? more?) I don't see how there couldn't be new entries for every name, even if it's the same npc theoretically. (Treasure and fishing though, only need some strings not hundreds of them like all quest,trainer,vendor npc's would need)

    ps: don't know anyone who is using one of those three modules, maybe I can convince someone with a german client in my guild to test it later - but I can't guarantee it

    This addon stores, and displays in the game tooltip and chat tooltip, the vendor value of any item you encounter and bring to a merchant. It also allows you to receive and broadcast this data to and from other users of this addon (as well as users of my (Saeris's) LootLink), thus expanding your database of prices without having to first see the price yourself. In addition to this, the database starts off with vendor data for over 13,000 items. Type "/veva" for configuration options, including the text, color, and visibility of the tooltip's money line prefix, whether or not to enable hidden chat broadcasting of vendor data, and whether or not to include a separator line between the price line and the rest of the tooltip.


    Marked the interessting part bold - I think thats a nice Idea. Maybe you can integrate that too (as a modul or additional addon that depends on ColaLight) -- maybe even in a compatible format.

    Just got felwood plant notes from a german cartographer_treasure user ... now I have 2 entries for one spot, the loc is only minimally different... one in english of course, the other in german. In a guild where even more than enUS/deDE is used (frFR... esES...) every note will appear 4 times? Can't be the goal of this ;-)

    edit: ah found out... whipper root example
    english premade entry: Whipper Root
    english manual collected entry: Cleansed Whipper Root
    german localized entry: Peitscherwurzel
    german manual collected enetry: Gesäuberte Peitscherwurzel

    A double entry will occur for "cleansed whipper root" too, because that string isn't in Cartographer_Treasure.lua (I reported that a dozen pages back, when the treasure modul was new - I forgot about it myself)

    edit2: just asked a friend if my fishing notes reach him in german or english... he gets them in english, so I guess he gets double entries if he starts to fish at this spots with his german client -- I think this problem needs some kind of solution

    edit3: temporarly disabled sharing and receiving for treasure and fishing notes -- idea for a quick "workaround" might be if its possible that carto sends the client language string with the notes, that way the noteshare modul could have an option to only accept notes in the same language

    My observations...
    After the change, Carto isn't using static maps anymore - it's using the ingame minimap graphics to reassemble the full map for an instance. For this it has dozens of lines like
    {"0df0e0e1e00d12a1344658a52945a1e2", 884.914124, -1512.321777},

    in the InstanceNotes.lua that seems to be a compressed format because at the same time "pack.lua" appeared in the scripts folder with this comment at the top "This converts data from Blizzard's WMOs into a format usable by Cartographer-InstanceMaps" at the top. I guess it's the decompressing, that takes around 2 seconds on my system. After that, the instance maps are appearing instantly.
