Yes cart is acting weird.
At first I just saw the whole map when I opened it for the first time. Then I clicked the red X in the corner, and the border went away but the map did not close. I have to use the icon by the mini-map to apen and close the map. When I do so tho border stays gone, and I can't get it back.
Then after switching to an area map, such as mulgore or durotar, the transparency changed. You did not see the whole map, just the part you can run around in. After you go back to a city now the whole city map is gone.
So then the border was gone, the map, and the text super imposed over the map telling you how to change the transparency or zoom in and out etc. I tried to change the transparency back the way I like it using the mouse wheel but it has no affect.
All I see is where my char is, the two red buttons, and where the venders quest givers etc are, but no map.
And if you disable look and feel, that's even worse. It like doing a ALT-Z before you take a screen shot, only you can?t change the setting without editing the lua for cartographer directly, or deleting the lua file all together.

Apr 24, 2007I have the same question. There is a person in our guild that saved the last version of Cartographer, just before you added the guild tracking option. He refuses to update Cartographer because of it. With all the changes to cartographer, herbalisum and mining, there are ?s that show up sometimes while he is mining or picking herbs (And no not because I need to update the herb and mining option, I have the latest versions, I update daily) and the best part is there are herbs in Stormwind, Ironforge, and the other two cities because of his outdated version. Everyone else in the guild has the newest versions, they come to this site to get them the same as me.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
Can you put in an option to turn off this feture? Deleting the folder does not work.
Mar 22, 2007Ok this is even weirder. If I play my human warlock and try to click nodes in outland after I remove them from the map to test if they will be added to the map again, sadly it does not work. My warlock is an herb/alch. However while playing my horde shaman alt who is a herb/leatherworker I was able to record a node of iron in ashenvale.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
I used search again to look for a bug reporting forum and I don't see one, so I hope I am posting in the correct place.
Maybe localization has messed this up and could be revised a little.
Mar 17, 2007After installing a few updates (including the latest as of 3/16), I can still record herbs while on my miner, but not mining nodes while on my herbalist. I will try to help by posting a version where it worked and whether or not it seems to go away with updates or mining or cartographer installed.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
Mar 13, 2007Yeah it has never marked a mining node if you are a miner and your skill is too low or if you do not mine the node and loot the ore, however only until recently has it not marked a mining node when I am on my herbalist.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
Mar 11, 2007I checked just after I read that, and yes I have always selected for herbs and mining. However on my herbalist, I can not click a mining node and record it, but as a miner I can click an herb and record it.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
I even deleted a mining node off the map close to me, rode over clost to it so it was in range, and clicked it to see if it would be added again, sadly it did not work.
Mar 11, 2007In the past I would be playing my miner/Eng and I have herbs on also so that if I see one not recorded I could mark it by clicking on it. Even though it said herbalisum required it would still show up.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
However about 10 revisions back if I am playing my herb/alch and click on a mining node it will not get recorded. Can you look into that so it can get added back? It's still useful. I just downloaded the newest version and it still does not record mining when I play my herb/alch, have not tested with my miner but it was still working about a week ago. It will record mining nodes when I play my miner of course.
Mar 11, 2007I tried using search to see if the Venders module was integrated or removed and could not find anything about it.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
What is the current status of that module?
And also can you put up the last working version of it as a link here I do still use it, it's handy when you want to find the reagent vender or what have you ^_^
Jan 14, 2007_ForgeUser38575 posted a message on Cartographer r25147, Import r24304, Gatherer 2.99.0.0400, with WOW 2.0.4Just so I could say that I did it, I loaded version gatherer-126.96.36.199 and changed the toc to 20000, and it simply would not load as expected I got the following errors:Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
Error: attempt to call a table value
Error: unexpected symbol near ';'
Error: attempt to index global 'arg' (a nil value)
Error: attempt to call a table value
Error: attempt to call a table value
So the instructions must be out of date and for pre 2.0, or are now incomplete.
Are there any new instructions? How do you import Gatherer information into Cartographer so that I can quit using Gatherer and take advantage of all the convenient features offered by Cartographer?
[i]EDIT: I logged in and out of wow like 5-7 times at least to attempt to import my old gatherer information with version 188.8.131.52 installed. I also copied my pre 2.0 backup of the Gatherer database into savedvariables folder, renamed or deleted it and put back the new version of it as shown above. (The one with IMPORTED in one of the fields) I also installed the new gatherer-2.99.0.0426 and then installed version 0400 because I was having some weird icons show up on the map and thought that either the version 0426 was broke or I had not copied the right file to the saved variables folder.
I started with version 184.108.40.206 changed to 2.99.0.0426, then 2.99.0.0400 and copied various backups to the savedvariables under the WTF folder never writing anything down as to what I did in what order because it all seemed broken, and some how the information was imported into cartographer, all the herbs and ore even.
I am happy that they show up but I am a little disappointed because now I cant share how I did it. It did not simply happen by copying the Gatherer database into the cartographer_Import folder. It did not happen by simply installing the old version of the gatherer cuz I checked the world map several times to see what had happened. Only after doing all the confusing steps I listed above and giving up on the whole thing, disabed Gatherer, and loged back in did I suddenly realize that the information was imported.
During my attempts there was a copy of my Gatherer backup (The pre 2.0 version) in the Cartographer_Import folder, but I never changed that file because I was testing the theory that I had to have the old version of Gatherer installed and runing. I only installed the three versions of the Gatherer I listed, and copied new and old backups of the Gatherer database into the savedvariables folder.
Not angry here or flaming, just trying to figure it out and ask what I am doing wrong, cuz there has to be an easier way to do this.
Jan 14, 2007_ForgeUser38575 posted a message on Cartographer r25147, Import r24304, Gatherer 2.99.0.0400, with WOW 2.0.4I am currently using Cartographer r25147, Import r24304, Gatherer 2.99.0.0400, with WOW 2.0.4, as well as the herb, mining, treasure, and other modules for Cartographer. My Gatherer.lua file is 466kb.Posted in: Map/Minimap AddOns
I am wondering if there are any up to date instructions for importing the Gatherer information into Cartographer so that after I disable Gatherer I will still see all the mining and herb nods that show up when I have Gatherer enabled.
I have waded through many replies and posts but nothing is short and concise and some instructions have links to other web sites but the links are dead.
Here are the three things I have found that seems to be the most common. Can the author confirm these instructions, and or revise them if any steps are not needed?
1) There is a FAQ that says to simply copy the Gatherer.lua file to the Cartographer_Import folder and start wow. This does not work.
2) There is a post that says I need to have Gatherer active in order for the conversion to take place. This does not work.
3) There is a post that says I need a specific version of Gatherer running in order for the import to take place and all I need to do is edit the toc file. I am reluctant to do this since it seems silly to load a mod for pre 2.0 that will more than likely not load because of outdated code, when there is an updated beta of the Gatherer available. Also if it only recognizes a certain version where is the version information in the code so that I can change it? Would there be any chance you could post some code so that I can manually edit the import.lua file to recognize the new Gatherer version that I am running.
Here are some screenshots:
