Aug 11, 2008Added a slightly different unitframe texture, also a brighter one for the buff/debuff bars so I can notice them out of the corner of my eye:Posted in: General Chat
Looking a bit better now, still not sure whether I should keep agUF or kick them out for something saving screenspace more efficiently.
Aug 11, 2008Here's my current WIP:Posted in: General Chat
My unitframe is the left, target is right, ToT is middle. Big castbar is obviously mine (plus Quartz stuff above it), smaller one to the right of target-frame is target castbar.
The things you cannot see right now are:
Grid: Above the target castbar, extending to the right.
Partyframes: Where Grid would be, too.
Petframe: To the right of my own
Omen/Recount: Upper left corner
3 things I am trying to finish though, if anyone got input:
First, I am not happy with the unitframes. This is agUF-Ace3version, but I don't like how large they are, I need something smaller. Tested oUF, could be heavy on the layout work, and Pitbull scares me since I'd need ~10 new libraries I currently don't use. But is Pitbull-3.0 worth the bloat of needing all the extra stuff (agUF needs nothing extra since I had the libraries it uses already)?
Second, I'm playing a bit with fonts. For chat, I still haven't found any font matching the default Blizzard one, but does someone know a good one? Most are either too wide (unnecessary waste of screen estate and reduced readability) or too fancy (reduced readability).
Third, is there a way to re-use the Square Clean border from agUF in other mods? When I try to just copy it in it makes a slim border inside the frame, and then when I resize it so it's outside, it's on all 4 sides. While on the agUF frames, the "shadow" is only displayed to the right and below the frame. I understood that shadow is the border-texture.
Thanks for any input. :)
Jul 30, 2008One more conceptual question.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Between mods like Acheron and Recount, do both actually have to do the same "amount" of combatlog parsing? Or can a mod like Acheron specifically "hook" only the damage-taken/healing-taken/death messages?
I am trying to decide which mod to use for deathlogs, and I like Acheron a lot, but I'd also sometimes want a damage-mod simply because being the raidleader it's nice to see how someone casted if they ask whether they're doing well.
But OTOH, I fear the raw CPU-usage Recount would cause :s
Jul 28, 2008I used it in Mount Hyjal yesterday - and yes we died a lot, so plenty of input to process ^_^. Worked fine, mighty fine actually.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Might ofc be that since now that I have Acheron I disabled Recount, I actually notice the removed CPU-usage from Recount. In either case, very awesome. :)
Jul 16, 2008The motivation for me would also be to get rid of ~15 libraries if I manage to get rid of FuBar. I tried the FuBar-Ace2 override but a bunch of mods like Whisp or Scorecard don't play nice with it.Posted in: Addon Ideas
And I kinda don't like needing nearly all libraries a single framework provides just for one mod. Seems so inefficient ;)
Jul 15, 2008Exact same issue here (sorry for the necromancy).Posted in: Ace3
Every since a small patch (Can't remember which), I got odd and unexplainable (apart from not happening with all addons off) lagspikes which lat for 15-40 seconds, and then all is back to normal.
However, to maybe explain things better, ever since then I also get momentary (talking 0.1~0.5s, it's more of a brief stutter) freezes whenever a Seed of Corruption explodes in a Raid.
Notice the constraints: Doesn't happen with no mods, only with Seed of Corruption it happens, only during raids.
I am very clueless as to what might be the cause. Maybe some WoW texture issue? Friend has the same, he has 100% different addons than me (so could at most be a library problem), he also reports the same brief stutter every time he crosses the camera from underwater to above water though (eh?!).
Might just be Blizz' fault :(
Jul 12, 2008There are no ingame statweightings addons for DDs, AFAIK.Posted in: General Chat
Mainly because it's virtually impossible (for most classes) to define the weightings you wanna use - there's as many viable weightings as there are players.
If you wanna play with gearupgrades, head over to ElitistJerks and look for a spreadsheet for your class, and tinker with that.
