    Copy to bbCode problems found:

phpBB ignores the PRE tags and simply prints the text for it.

Also, it won't display the URLs properly if the URL path is surrounded by quotes. If you remove the quotes, it works just fine.

The two phpBB boards I tested on simply won't display a URL that has an exclamation in the URL path.

    For example:
    http://www.wowace.com/wiki/!BugGrabber

Invision Powerboard 1.3 ignores the PRE tags and simply prints the text for it.

Everything else works just fine, including the quotes in the URL paths as well as the exclamation points in the URL path.

SimpleMachines Forums 1.1.2 works fine all the way around. Of course, that's what is used here at WoWAce. :P

It's a RAR filetype. Could it have something do with the version of RAR, perhaps? I see this happening on few other rar files as well. There aren't many out there. I looked thru the FAQ and I see where it looks like RAR support is built in.

Here's another RAR file that failed, but the error is different.

and yes, addons.wurm.xml in the WoW folder is "working as intended" ;)

Is there some reason for storing it in the WoW folder instead of in the WUU folder?

The reason I ask is that I use multiple interface folders depending on what I plan on doing. They each have different addons. Sometimes I do this to test new UI sets or just to try something different without affecting my overall setup. With the addons.wurm.xml file in the main wow folder, WUU makes both interface folders identical because it downloads "missing" addons. Now if the addons.wurm.xml file was actually in the WoW\Interface folder, when I swap interface folders out, WUU would only see and deal with the addons in that specific Interface folder. If you put the addons.wurm.xml file into the WUU folder, then I could simply create a another WUU install for the 2nd interface folder.

I hope this isn't too jumbled. I know I haven't said it yet, but WUU is my bread and butter for addons now. I've been manually updating addons since the very early days of Cosmos. This is an outstanding app and I tell everyone I know about it. Kudos to you.

Does WUU store any of the addon information anywhere other than in the folder where WUU is run from?

The reason I ask is that I manually uninstalled an addon, fired up WUU, and it still shows in the list. I hit "scan" and it's still there even though the addon is no longer in the interface\addons folder.

I tried a fresh download/install of WUU and it's doing the same thing.

Yes, addons are stored in addons.wurm.xml in the WUU directory - WUU used to autodelete addons from its internal list when the directory was deleted from the disk, but I'm rewriting how WUU handles addons, so in the current version, they're tagged as "missing" (this tag is not visible in the UI, sorry). You can use the Delete key to delete addons directly in WUU (which will remove them from both the disk and the internal list).

The addons.wurm.xml file is actually being stored in the WoW folder and not the WUU folder. That's why when I deleted the WUU folder and started from scratch, the files still showed up. I don't know if you intended to put it there, but that's where it is.

I had IE's proxy settings enabled, but no proxy server connection. That's what was causing the problem. I disabled IE's proxy settings and everything worked just fine.

Does that mean that WUU is still looking at the proxy settings in IE even though it's not using them?

I found the problem. I run both IE and Firefox in both a proxy'd environment and a non-proxy'd environment. I had left the proxy options enabled in IE and that was stopping WUU from downloading anything. It's working now. Sorry for reporting the problem.

Yes. I was able to go to the site directly with no problems. That's how I was able to get the site_re.txt file as well. It appears that WUU will attempt to get those files even though you already have them. When it can't get to the site, it wipes the existing files clean. That would explain why manually downloading site_re.txt and master.addons.wurm.xml doesn't help.

I also noticed that master.addons.wurm.xml is blank as well after this error occurs.

Getting the following errors on startup with a fresh install of .158:

2007-02-08 09:30: (WARN) Could not check online version: <urlopen error (10060, 'Operation timed out')>
2007-02-08 09:30: (INFO) Checking for new site regexps
2007-02-08 09:31: (ERROR) Checking of version failed - assuming update needed (Reason: <urlopen error (10060, 'Operation timed out')>)
2007-02-08 09:31: (ERROR) Could not download regexp list: <urlopen error (10060, 'Operation timed out')>

I noticed that the site_re.txt file was empty, so I closed out of WUU, downloaded site_re.txt from the link you gave previously in this thread, start up WUU and get the same error. However, site_re.txt also gets wiped so that it's empty again. Version 1.44 still works fine.
