Presets or even config snap-ins would do that, at least for me.

I do understand what you're saying, and I ummed and arrrr quite a bit before I took the plunge and dumped Venantes in favour of Sphere. I'm a technie but I'm not a developer, and even I had that feeling of "OMFG My interface is gone!" until the penny dropped around how you configure Sphere.

Just put yourself asside an hour over the weekend with a cups of coffee, you won't regret it ;-)

    Hmmmmm ...

I'm a Hunter, I used to use Venantes (Hunter version of Necrosis).

The idea of a pre-configured Hunter sphere sounded dead good. As you say, fit it and forget it. However I, and presumably a lot of other Hunters, found it not to be the case (I say presumably, as the Ventantes project seems to be abandoned).

The problem is, even among the same class, people want different things. They play differently, use their interface different, look for spells and abilities in different places etc.

I find it strange that you're pooh-poohing Sphere because it takes a little configuration. It probably took me an hour to get Sphere exactely how I always wanted Venantes to be. As such, it's close to perfect. For me.

If you're looking for a one-size-fits-all then you probably need to compromise. If, after reading this thread, you can't/don't want to spend an hour setting Sphere up then I think it's a shame, but ultimately no skin off my chinny-chin-chin.

    :-)

Tried Violoation against SW Stats last night on VR.

Suffice to say I've uninstalled SW Stats now.

Actually, the current DPS view should be renamed to "Burst DPS", that would clear up most of the confusion.

Also note that there was some discussion many pages back about adding a module for your fight

ooh I like that idea. If it were easily extensible, for example like the 'templates' for Omen, that would rock.

That is, if you're not doing any damage for 4 seconds, Violation stops counting that time towards your DPS value.

That alone should explain the difference. The fights that I notice the largest difference in dps values are ones where I have to pause dps to maneuver (10-15s pause to move for Gruul's ground slam & shatter, for example).

You may well be right, but if you are then it's a seriously flawed method of calculating DPS.

If I do bugger all during an encounter (let's stay with Gruul for arguments sake) cos I'm always under cave-ins, always out of a safe zone for shatter, always in the dead zone (I'm a hunter) .... but then nuke like mad for 20 seconds before I finally die - then my DPS will look high. But it shouldn't. For most of that encounter I've done nothing - therefore DPS calculations 'should' (IMHO) start at the beginning of the encounter and stop at the end of the encounter?

My guild were getting occasional spurious data.

We've now got *everyone* to uninstall KTM and we've turned off all KTM compatability options - seems to have cured the problem.
