New version is out.
Nothing changes in behaviour, only the Dataminer is updated to work with the latest changes on Wowhead.
Also, Wowhead seems to have dropped some old-style mounts (for example the Palomino Bridle) from their Mounts database.
Is this just a Wowhead thing or have these mounts disappeared in a recent patch?
If you have any trouble with missing mounts, please let me know (in this thread).

Menagerie is great. Love it! :)
Very nice to hear :) Originally I wrote it just for me, but it seems, some people are actively using it. Despite being a tiny addon, it makes me proud, as it is my first one :)
Trying to expand it a bit in certain directions, but nothing too overkill.
I hope to have more time available soon to work a bit on it.

BUT you know Phanx, *wink*, wouldn't it be nice if there was a mod that did handled both of the things Menagerie and MiniPet does now. Minipet is a reminder to take out your pet after hearthing and landing from a flight, puts a movable button on screen to just click to drop a random pet.
I thought about that some time ago. A friend of mine hinted me at that. But I wanted Menagerie to stay slim and not to be overkill, so I abandoned the idea. With displaying a button there always comes handling of the button, i.e. scale, transparency, position, etc.
And using Autobar myself, I'm pretty happy how Menagerie works now :)
One thing I want to implement is swapping of "fun items". For example it would include "Dartol's Rod of Transformation" or "Orb of the Sin'Dorei", which would get swapped when visiting the bank. That way I could always carry one or more fun items, while having a huge stash at the bank :)
It's not a big deal, I "just" have to update the dataminer to manually include items, since no predefined category exists on Wowhead for that.
May 6, 2008I believe, it's because the Combatlog-Eventhandling has been rewritten.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
The old code was triggered by Tradeskill-Combatlog events, and the new code is triggered on EVERY combatlog event.
The problem with this is, the self:Update() isn't called in the enclosing if-block (and thus only called when necessary), instead it's called every time a combat log event fires.
So, the solution (in theory, not tested) could be to move the self:Update() into the if-block.

Apr 7, 2008A quick notice to you folks who wanted tabard support:Posted in: General AddOns
it's in now :)
- Tabard support (disabled by default, use "/mg tabards" to toggle or use DeuceCommander/LibRockConfig).
- Got rid of LibPeriodicTable-3.1. So no other requirements than Ace2 (for now, perhaps soon Ace3).
- Wrote a dataminer in Perl to get the data for categorization of items from Wowhead.
- Weeded out a bug which would occur when having less items of a category in the bank than in the containers.
Things I think about:
- Switching to Ace3.
- Integrating the small configuration options into the Blizz-Addon-Settings-UI ;)
- Perhaps add a category for fun items (such as Dartol's Rod of Transformation (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=5462) or X-52 Rocket Helmet (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30847). :)
Let me know of any bugs you encounter or suggestions :)
Mar 12, 2008Nice, thanks!Posted in: General AddOns
I focussed on getting the information from the item itself (level, quality), but that wouldn't work entirely (AQ40-mounts -> fast but blue).
Never thought about looking at the riding skill *d'oh*
Thanks a lot, I definitely look into it soon (a little late today)!
Mar 12, 2008I just realized, that a tabard is worn and not present on your container-bags ;)Posted in: General AddOns
I have to test, whether I can swap items from the bank directly with equipped items.
And then I have to reorganize some code logic, because the way it works now depends on both items to be swapped to be in "containers" (bags or bank).
So, I definitely work towards it, but I cannot give you an ETA. I try my best ;)
Mar 12, 2008Mmmh, no, not thought about that.Posted in: General AddOns
But I'm rewriting it at the moment to not use LibPeriodicTable anymore and instead use a small datamined table. To add tabards should be trivial because of the modular nature of the code.
Expect tabard-switching to be included, when I commit the changes and finished the dataminer (which is a little tricky, I have to figure out a way to distinguish fast and slow mounts via wowhead :) )
Dec 4, 2007OK, I added the ability to distinguish snowball-pets from normal pets.Posted in: General AddOns
Basically it's just a quick hack and not well coded, but I hope to come around to implementing it better (complete rewrite inc.?) :-)
Let me know if it works or not. :-)
Nov 23, 2007*gasp?*! Someone was using it already?Posted in: General AddOns
That makes me very happy and is somewhat unexpected :-)
The new version has been around on my HDD for some time now, I just hadn't the time to polish it for a new upload to the SVN. Had I known, that someone really uses it... :-P
Nov 23, 2007Sure, when I get the time ;-)Posted in: General AddOns
At the moment the internal code is mostly generic, which means I have to change quite a bit of code to implement the additional modification of the PT-set.
Nevertheless, I'll look into it as fast as I can.
For the time being you could just blacklist your snowball-pets, so they do't get changed in the first place. Works for me ;)
Nov 23, 2007Just a little notice and place to report bugs.Posted in: General AddOns
It basically swaps minipets and mounts between bank and bags (as ''Kennel'' does for minipets only) and it can blacklist items, i.e. specify items, that won't get swapped (leave that pesky old Swift Green Gryphon in the bank!!).
Speed of mounts and Minipet-requirements are honored, meaning a slow flying pet only gets replaced by a slow flying pet, so you won't be stuck with that lame Snowy Gryphon, while having your Swift Netherdrake in the bank ;-)
More info will be available in on the wiki-page: http://www.wowace.com/wiki/Menagerie
Known bugs at the moment:
Snowball-minipets are treated the same as normal minipets. fixed internally
This is due to a strangeness in PeriodicTable, where the snowball-pets are included in the Misc.Minipet.Normal AND Misc.Minipet.Snowball. Someone wanting the whole list of minipets could simpy refer to Misc.Minipet, so that double-entry is not needed, in my opinion. Hopefully, that changes eventually :-)
Post your bug-reports, suggestions, etc. here
Sep 28, 2007Hi,Posted in: FuBar AddOns
I'm playing two Paladins, one Alliance, one Horde.
After visiting the trainers for both characters, the alliance one gets displayed "Seal of Blood" (horde only) and the horde one gets displayed "Seal of Vengeance" (alliance only).
Could it be implemented, that some spells get a distinction between factions? I think, Heroism and Bloodlust (Shaman) face the same problem.
Another problem was, after playing the horde-paladin (lvl 14, much to learn), I switched back to the alliance-paladin (lvl 70) and TrainerFu displayed all spells (I assume from lvl 14 on) to be learnable .
Hope this helps to fix the problems.
Jul 24, 2007Hi,Posted in: Libraries
some requests for the Misc.Mount categories:
- Misc.Mount.Flying is missing the special mounts:
- Ashes of Al'ar (32458:310) (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=32458)
- Swift Nether Drake (30609:310) (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=30609)
- Misc.Mount.Ahn'Qiraj contains the
- Black Qiraji Resonating Crystal (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=21176)
Jul 14, 2007After a quick check on wowhead it seems this holds true, except for the Qiraji mounts (blue, but 100%) and the Riding Turtle (epic).Posted in: Libraries
But I'll use this approach, didn't think about checking the item quality :)
