    Which has absolutely nothing to do with building sets of buttons and button bars which is what the thread is about.

    It's highly unlikely I'll ever do any sort of GUI constructor for Visor bars/buttons. I think it's a great idea and would love to see someone do it, but it isn't in my future at this point.

    There's an LCD program, but a lot of people disable that to run third party LCD apps that add all sorts of customization to your LCD. There's a keyboard profile app that keeps sets of macros for different games, but you don't need that at all if you don't want to. Really you don't have to run any additional software for the keyboard itself, just something to power the LCD.

    I really love mine.

    The mod to control Winamp doesn't work any longer, Blizzard removed the method that they were using to do that a while back. There isn't a way to do it any longer. If you really want to be able to get information like that, and more, and control Winamp/etc. then you can look into a keyboard that does all that like Tekkub said. Of course that costs money, but I for one absolutely love my G15 keyboard with LCD that can show you all of the system information you like.

    I've lost items with CT_MailMod.
    It had to do with the auto-looting of attachments from your mailbox. If you allow it to auto loot but also grab the attachment yourself at the same time, you can lose it. I can't even remember the exact steps, it may have been with the forwarding feature since that actually grabs the attached item to your inventory, and then places it into the new message you're forwarding to someone else.

    I also had it happen with AH_MailCollect and CT_MailMod both trying to auto-loot attachments at the same time, I think.

    You know I tried AO again about six months ago. It is still the one game that I think had the most potential that screwed itself the most with a premature and absolutely horrendous launch.

    But, I couldn't get back into it. Even the free version. I honestly don't know if I'll be able to deal with a game like any of these again without being able to modify the interface like we can with WoW.

    You've actually hit one one of the problems, Mokaikai. There is a difference between an actively supported addon, and an abandoned one. You'll hear complaints often from different people and sites where a user believes an addon isn't getting updated because they didn't get it from somewhere that the addon author is supporting. That's not the user's fault, well actually it isn't anyone's fault, it's just what happens.

    Addons that are no longer supported are a different case, as far as I'm concerned they pass into the public domain as soon as the author doesn't want to do anything with it anymore. Mind you that really is up to the individual author whether that is the case or not, someone can say they don't want anyone else to touch their code. I just don't believe in that sort of thing. :)

    I wouldn't like it if an addon I did were uploaded somewhere else. Not because I want control, or feel my rights are infringed upon, but because I think it's bad for the users. Someone who downloads an addon from a site the author didn't upload it to runs the risk of having an out of date addon, or in the extreme case one that's been modified by someone else maliciously. I don't think I'd ever go so far as to tell someone to remove it, I just don't think it is actually a good thing overall. Well unless it were on wowguru, they day anything I do goes to support that site you'll be getting requests from the devil to help shovel snow.

    I have to agree with tekkub, every other MMORPG out there in the world makes you choose the size of the healing spell that you use. It's part of the strategy of being a healer, WoW does not have anything unique about this. People have become accustomed to having their hand held for them so they've become complacent. But WoW isn't special in this regard, the unfortunate part will simply be that people who have never had to use judgement in choosing their heal spells will suddenly have to, and if they aren't capable of thinking more than pressing a button it's going to make for some sad dead people.

    Which is wholly the healer's fault, mind you. Not Blizzard's. The only thing I fault Blizzard for is letting it go on so long, but that's no reason to not stop it now.

    I only got an error on 2 addons that I use, and one of them is a beta testing version so I don't even want to count that right now.
    So I logged into the Test Realm... and I think they did something with string parsing. Lots of addons are getting nils when they shouldn't be.

    This is one of the errors that I did get, and it had to do with parsing something out of a tooltip. I don't actually have any more details right now, spent the day moving and will spend most of today finishing up. But this patch will be like many other patches. There are certain types of addons that will need fixing, and everything else will continue to work just fine.

    This is actually something I've wanted to do, but it is a fairly big project.

    I do have some ideas and can visualize exactly how I would like to do it, but honestly coding the GUI part of it is what holds me back. I can't help it, I'm not a GUI person. So although I think I have good ideas of what would be a useful interface I haven't gotten past that phase into actually making it happen.

    Ambition may strike at any time however! :)

    The real issue is that there is no way to programmatically target everything around you to scan to see if any of them have targetted you. That's the only way that it could be done (that I could think of, at least) and the ability to do that reliably isn't there. You can still targetnearest I believe and you'd be able to see what that's target was, but you can't iterate through the list of everything there around you to check to see if you are a target.
