    Ugh. I've actually seen people who say that on WoW in regards to gear. Same principle. To hell with pretty - function over form!

    Well there are those RP folks. Not that I'm one of them or anything.

    First rule of engineering: Form follows function.
    Second rule of engineering: Apply power.

    Also, is there a reason why you used
    TableA[#TableA + 1] = v;

    instead of

    tinsert(TableA,v);

    Thanks for you quick response. I think it's important that I understand exactly how this works so I just want to get a little clarification/confirmation.

    local tempA, tempB = {}, {}
    for _, v in ipairs(TableA) do
       tempA[v] = true
    end
    for _, v in ipairs(TableB) do
       tempB[v] = true
    end
    In the section above you're just using this to go from interger keys to data keys in a new table, correct? You're then wiping the original tables and then adding them back in (from the temp tables) based on whether or not they exist in the other list?

    The only question I have is: Should it be
    for v in pairs(TempA) do
       ...
    end
    or

    for _,v in pairs(TempA) do
       ...
    end
    If it the first, can you please explain why?

    posted a message on Comparing Tables
    So I was looking for a nice efficient way to accomplish a table comparison. I have a way that works, but it involes a lot of looping throught the lists and it's not something that I'm really happy with. Here's my example:

    -- Names used without permission. :D
    TableA = {"Tekhub", "Kaelten", "ckknight", "Xinhuan", "Kaelten"} --Max 10 entries
    TableB = {"ckknight","Tekhub","OrionShock"}                       --Max 10 entries
    By the end of the process I'd like TableA to contain only entries not in TableB and vice-versa. Also, TableA may contain duplicates initially, but should not contain any at the end of the process.

    Thats right. The Captcha is just the fallback. If you have Flash, you'll just see a Link in a flash widget, and on click it'll download. It really looks nearly like before, except that the font is a bit different, and that on right click you get the flash context menu ;)

    You crafty... me like. :D

    Here's what I use for my externals:

    libs/LibStub svn://svn.wowace.com/wow/libstub/mainline/tags/1.0

    The .pkgmeta file is only used by the server-side packager. If you want to grab the libs when you do an update, use svn:externals.

    So are you saying that if you have Flash installed and enabled, you'll won't see a CAPTCHA?

    It's a little on the difficult side to find these days, but this should have everything you need: http://old.wowace.com/wiki/SVN_For_Beginners

    The main reason for this is to maintain cross-platform compatibility. Some platforms CR/LF pairs for line endings, and some just use LF. "Native" is whatever your particular OS uses.

    Sorry... I meant to mean that I haven't seen a single CAPTCHA and haven't been stopped from downloading anything. I've tried it both logged-in and logged-out and there's been no change.

    Odd... I haven't seen a single CAPTCHA at all on either Curse.com or WowAce.com.
