Jun 16, 2009just a thought while browsing during my lunch break: I may still have my UI set to scale at around 70 or 75.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
ask me why? I remember settings this in my first week of wow because I dont think we even had any handy frames mods then, and i wanted my open bags to not take up 40% of my screen. I may have never gone back and reset my ui scale back to 1.
anyone think this might be the problem? Grasping at straws here.
Jun 16, 2009spent about 5 hours working with Pitbull 4.0 (amazing improvement over 3.0 - very well done, guys) and my wife made the following observation:Posted in: General Chat
"It looks beautiful, but you're the only person on earth who add a second screen and manage to make the game more cluttered that when you started."
so yeah - back to the drawing board. I went nuts with 'artistic' touches instead of going for minimal raid ui.
Jun 16, 2009the 'square LCD' is about 4 years old, but is still better than anything in stock @ Best Buy. The Dell widescreen was a prize I won.Posted in: General Chat
I just completed a setup using the 24" square as my primary and the 20" wide as my 'addon clutter' and Im mostly happy with the results.
chat bubbles are like, ENORMOUS. 5 word phrases are the whole width of my screen, so I've had to disable chat bubbles.
oh and in spite of the fact that both displays are operating off the same identical video card (mine has dual DVI output), fonts on the smaller Dell are impossibly fuzzy, but if I drag those same frames over to the 24" Sony, they're clear as a bell. So the monitor must have something to do with it.
Jun 16, 2009followup: same problem with Pitbull 4.0 - i've had to go back to using full body portraits because all of them are set with the camera too close, and I see inside of everyone's heads.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
any tips would be appreciated.
Jun 15, 2009how can i fix this?Posted in: AddOn HELP!
sorry the image is so tiny - i cropped a dual monitor display and this was the size i got.
basically, the portrait is 'too close' and you're seeing 'inside' my toon's head. the only way to fix this is to raise the scale of the frame so that it is almost 50% of my whole screen.
I've downloaded Pitbull 4.0 to tinker with and see if the problem is there as well.
Jun 15, 2009I have a very nice 24" square LCD that sold at release for about $600 about 4 years ago. Resolution is VERY high and affords the highest graphical settings for wow.Posted in: General Chat
option 2 is a 20" widescreen from Dell that is new and costs around $350 or so. The resolution is lower (shadows are very 'dotty' instead of a solid mass of color) and I'd have to lower some settings in wow. As a pure windshield, the eyecandy is reduced, but its widescreen. I use Pitbull and with that and a million other addons (carbonite, DBM, classtimer, omen) makes the square 24" very 'busy' no matter what I try to do.
So if it were you, would you go with the larger prettier square LCD, or the smaller, less pretty widescreen LCD?
oh and yes my PC supports dual monitors, but I haven't found a way to utilize this for wow.

Jun 15, 2009_ForgeUser307826 posted a message on Pitbull 4.0: over-writes PB3, or fully distinct addon?I have a raid main using a PB3 setup that works fine, but to learn the ropes and help continue testing PB4, I wanted to use it on an alt - but during this process, I want to continue using PB3 on my raid main.Posted in: Unit Frames
Is this possible without having to backup/restore folders in wow, or does PB4 write over PB3 when installing?
Apr 8, 2009sorry to bump an old thread but for the purposes of maintaining a complete closed ticket (in the event someone finds this thread via google or other search), i found what the cause was. It was the addon Informant.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
Feb 28, 2009UPDATE: the cause was the addon Informant.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
whenever I loot something, I get a very large popup alert providing me with the most useless information I've yet to see an addon provide: the name and count of the item I have just looted. Its HUGE. like this:
HEAVY LEATHER [ 12 ]
BROKEN TOOTH [ 1 ]
It looks just like that, and its horrible. I have not been able to find a setting withing gatherer to disable this.
anyone know how I can turn this off without throwing away an otherwise excellent mod?
plan b: anyone know the name of the parent frame this pops in? I can moveanything it to the size of a dot in the corner of my screen or something.
Nov 22, 2008going back almost 5 of 6 Pitbull updates now, my 'tutorial' guide to dogtags is blank. You can't search it and it not longer displays the tags and how to use them. The window is still there, and you can still use the test field to write and code tags - but the index / guidebook is blank.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
is it just my install, or is this a known bug?
