    posted a message on Create Quartz Timer
    Hi all. I'm a warlock who uses the trinket Sextant of Unstable Currents. This has a chance on any spell critical to give me a buff increasing my spell damage for 15 seconds. However, it also has an internal cooldown so that this buff cannot trigger within 45 seconds of a previous proc (30 seconds after the buff fades). In order to track this internal, I sucessfully edited (with almost no knowledge of how .lua works) a mod originally used to track the internal cooldown of the rogue ability Cheat Death to work for my trinket. Everytime I lose the "Unstable Currents" buff, it triggers a Deadly Boss Mods timer.

    --OnLoad function
    function CheatDeathTimer_OnLoad()
    	--Register Events
    	this:RegisterEvent("CHAT_MSG_SPELL_AURA_GONE_SELF");
    end

    --Event handler
    function CheatDeathTimer_OnEvent()
    	--message we are looking for
    	if (tostring(arg1)=="Unstable Currents fades from you.") then
    		--create a DBM timer for 45 seconds
    		DBM.StartStatusBarTimer(45, "Sextant",nil,false);
    	end
    end

    Since this also creates a timer for everyone in my raid group, it's pretty annoying. Is there a way to create a Quartz or DoTimer timer to track this instead of DBM? Thanks.

    posted a message on Omen - Bug Reports and Suggestions
    Hi all. I wanted to report a bug I noticed with Omen, but since this thread is more active than the other thread I'll post it here.
    Basically, during Vashj, Omen reset my threat even though my Soulshatter was resisted. I recorded the kill with Fraps and made some screen grabs:

    1: One frame after my Soulshatter was resisted. You can see the resist notification both above Vashj's head (default UI) and as a notification in the center (MSBT). Omen is located in the lower right just above the minimap. I am the fourth bar from the top in red.

    2: A moment later, Omen does not register the soulshatter as resisted and drops my agro down. I'm now on the very bottom of the threat list even though it was resisted.

    3: Another moment later, Vashj stuns me and a bat conveniently craps on me =****(

    4: Another moment later, you guessed it!

    If you want further information, I can post the combat log and/or a video clip. Thanks again for the great mod guys and gals!

    posted a message on Arena Buff Checker [Idea]
    Since Blizzard added the ability to see an enemy player's buffs in 2.3, one strategy my arena teams have adopted is checking the opposing team's buffs to get a better idea of the other team's class makeup. This is very helpful against stealthed Rogues and Druids, invisible Mages, shadowmelded Night Elves, and anyone else who is hiding out of LOS. My idea is a simple mod that, while in an arena, checks what buffs are present on the target and outputs what classes must therefore be present on the opposing team in a small, movable window.

    For example, at the start of a 3v3 battle, the only target we can see is an enemy hunter. He has the following buffs:
    • Trueshot Aura
    • Aspect of the Hawk
    • Mark of the Wild
    • Thorns
    • Arcane Intellect
    Arena Buff Checker will read the buffs and output the following in a small movable window:
    • Hunter
    • Druid
    • Mage

    Let me know if you have any questions about this idea. Thanks!

    posted a message on Dot timer with targeting function
    This will have the same problem as Arena Unit Frame addons: once you are in combat, addons can't create new unit frames to be targeted.

    posted a message on Arena Stats Mod?
    Just found this thread searching, and I want to say that I too would definitely use a mod with this functionality.

    Recently I have been doing similar analysis manually. I have been tracking my battleground and arena history using the WR_KillingFields mod from WarcraftRealms and manually entering the data it outputs Excel. In the last two weeks I've accumulated the following information regarding my 3v3 team's performance:

    Depending on your team this may or may not show trends about which classes and arenas you have trouble with. For example, we realized quickly that we were having a lot of trouble with shamans, so we adjusted our strategy accordingly.

    posted a message on ElkBuffBars v2 (finally Ace3 version)
    EDIT: I figured out the group anchoring, I didn't realize I had to reset my settings to attach themt. Any chance of a slash command to attach groups together in the future? Thanks again for a great mod.

    --------------------------------------

    I have a question regarding the sorting of groups.

    When I first started using EBB (before the advent of separate groups) it would group buffs and debuffs separately by default. The debuffs were placed below the buffs regardless of length. Within the buff and debuff categories, it would sort by time remaining. For example, if I had five buffs and two debuffs, it would always look like this:
    [BUFF]
    [BUFF]
    [BUFF]
    [BUFF]
    [BUFF]

    [DEBUFF]
    [DEBUFF]

    With the new version, I cannot sort first by "type" (buff or debuff) and then by time. So if I had a short buff (e.g. inspiration) it would list it below a longer debuff. It might look like this:

    [BUFF]
    [BUFF]
    [BUFF]
    [BUFF]

    [DEBUFF]
    [BUFF]
    [DEBUFF]

    Is there any way to split the bars based on "type" (buff, debuff, tench, etc.)?

    Alternatively, is it possible for a group to be anchored with another so that as I gained more buffs my debuffs group would move automatically?
    Seerah mentioned this here but I haven't been able to figure it out.

    Thanks.

    Any chance of a scan of the Ruin-US Battlegroup? I'd do it myself but I have no clue how to run the dataminer. Thanks.
