I did what you said and a /kb ingame does bring up the keybind window, but when you hover over the buttons, it does not highlight it or change the keybinding.
Does anyone know of a mod that does Domino's keybind without using Dominos? All you do is /kb and hover over the action bar button and press the keybind you want. Thanks for your help.
Some of us are using BigWigs because it's the closest thing to a tactic-agnostic boss mod.
(to get warnings, not strat or hand holding)
How long before that "feature" starts creeping into the main functions?
Edit: Are you getting a revenue cut from websites, pro-guilds etc feeding you tips?
If it catches on you might have a nice case of selling ad-space there without
actually breaking the addon guidelines as you're not charging or soliciting donation
from the users themselves.
(they're just the masses of uneducated raiders and your unwitting audience)
Edit2: It's unfortunate that this was brought up, it made me look the page describing
the feature up and actually read it. The more I did so the more sick to my stomach I got.
Pity there's no such thing as selective amnesia, now that I know of it it will keep bothering me.
Just turn it off. It's that simple. Don't want it? Don't have to.
Not at all. But, if you asked me if gameplay tips belonged in a boss encounter addon, my answer would be the same - not at all.
Plus, it's a bit disconcerting that the description page about the feature specifically mentions that one of its two main purposes is promotion: "it's a feature meant to promote Big Wigs and/or oRA3, [...] also your guild and website". When you start adding stuff because you think it will garner publicity, instead of because you think it will be useful and applicable to the majority of your addon's users, I'd have to say that you're headed in the wrong direction. I think the majority of people who install BigWigs do so because they want helpers for specific raid encounters, not because they want gameplay advice from Ensidia.
It's actually raid tips in a raid mod. There's a difference. Also, you're talking to the developers like they 1. are children 2. don't think about what they're doing 3. have never made a mod before 4. aren't some of the most sensible authors in the community. I'm sure they've thought it through before they came to this conclusion. Just turn the option off and don't worry about it.
At least check (via WoWInterface), nUI will continue. The "Pro" version will be a donation item as before, however the link will be a standard link on his site somewhere, just not somewhere obvious. Thus will will be possible to simply stumble upon the link and get nUI Pro for free. The author will not block that download which should (in theory) not violate the new Blizz policy since the Pro version will be "publicly available".
I don't understand that guy. His donate button is prefaced with him saying he's over 20k in credit card debt and needs money. So what does he do? Spends a boatload of time making a UI and then pleads for money for his surivival.
