    Not at all, go ahead.
Have you found any addon, that has the ability to change blizzard actionbars? So tired of the look of keybindings and macro text.
Hmm I use '/print GetMouseFocus()' - If I use ':GetName()' with it, I don't get the name. The first parses out a shitload of data, but somewhere in all that info is the name.

If you haven't found it yet, it is 'QuartzCastBar'.

The mirror frame however has no name, just a 'nil' value. But that belongs in another thread :D

BarFix Seems to modify alot of the default UI to add functionality. I haven't tried it yet but it seems interesting.

As for hiding macro text you can use SilentMacros.

Just because a mod uses Ace doesn't mean it's better than a non-ace counterpart. As a user you should worry more about functionality. There are many non-ace addons that are well written, more functional, and more efficient. On the flip side, there are many ace addons that are poorly written. When it comes to customizing your interface, try every modification out there and then choose what works for you. Being "Ace" doesn't necessarily mean it is better.

That being said, if those 3 non-ace addons are working for you, why do you need to replace them?

Looks really good. I myself have reverted back to the default UI and am only using mods to improve functionality. Hope you don't mind me copying your idea here.

I'm assuming you changed the default quartz border to dialog. Have you tried attaching an eePanel to the castbar instead? You may have to play with the castbar size to get it looking right.

    Quote from shobu »

Same here... I just updated all my addons with the WoWAce Updater when I was suddenly confronted by Rock.

How do I switch back to the Fubar menu system I'd grown to know and love?

Nobody sits like this rock sits. You rock, rock. The rock just sits and is. You show us how to just sit here and that's what we need.

Isn't there an option to revert to previous versions?

Wouldn't just weighing him against a duck be easier?

I know what movie I'm watching tonight.

Oh and I just read all the other threads on the GUI config and whatnot. People really do need to calm down. I'm seeing alot of "this is crap why did you ruin my UI" bs.

I thought the drama was all confined to what was happening in this thread. My previous posts seem moot now.

It's surprising how much less "drama" this whole thing would be causing if people were capable of just making a post calmly stating that they're not fans of the new config system and would like an alternative if at all possible.

But apparently the preferred option is to rant about how much the new config system sucks and how this is ugly and how that is crap.

Is it any surprise the replies from authors are sometimes a tad curt?

Ding! Hit it on the head. The very first post gave it's feedback in a negative manner... "garbage". Saying you don't like the new whatever is one thing, but giving your feedback in a negative fashion and then getting mad that people aren't interested in your opinion...

Devs aren't obligated to do jack for you, so if you want to get them to give real consideration to your thought it's better to say things nicely and even provide alternative designs. "It looks like crap" will just get you ignored... "I don't like this part, it's hard to work with. Why not give us this instead, it would be much more intuitive" will at least get some consideration.

    /applaud

Interestingly enough the word garbage was used once. Then other devs decided to jump in when it wasn't even pertaining to their addons.

    Everybody needs to chill.

Um, I'm not sure what's happening. Do I need to give you my address again? Cause, I mean, I didn't get my paycheck last Friday for making mods for you. If you want to make sure that I fulfill all the features you want, you gotta remember to pay me on time.

Note: that was satire, but meant to drive the point across.

You can only claim satire if you didn't ask for donations everywhere.

The irony [thats what satire is] is that this guy is saying devs have an obligation, but ckk points out, that he has not been 'hired' [he does this using sarcasm] and therefore the 'irony' is that the guy who is calling devs 'obligated' has not really supported the development of any ckk addons. therefore, ironic that he's making some demands.

Ckk was saying that you don't need to pay him to develop his addons. He can actually treat you with respect whether or not you "pay him on time". He probably enjoys doing what he does. I know its crazy.
