    So it's known, basically, the layout system will go away, replaced by a standard meta-layout system.

    A new layout system will be created on top of this, where default settings are provided, and one of those settings will be "Buu", which will be basically what illepic has posted, only automated.

    I am intrigued by this! Hit me with a link if you've got one

    Hey Otto, what dimensions of your frame, portrait, health and power bar are you using?

    Excellent! I'll give this a try soon :)

    Edit: works great. I think I'm going to give the instructions an update soon.

    Edit2: Original post updated. Thanks Otto. Any other cool tips?

    Hello and thanks for taking the time to look at this.

    What
    I have always loved the Buu layout for ag_unitframes as well as, now, for Pitbull.

    This is what the Buu layout looks like:

    As a healer it always gave the little bars I'm healing all the time a little personality and added some class to my UI. When I saw that Buu was included with Pitbull I was excited, until I realized the aura placement for it was kind of wacky. I wanted a layout that had all the impressive aura placement, text configuration, casting bars, threat bars and other goodies of ABF but looked like Buu.

    Stock ABF usually looks something like this:

    I was whining about this in guild chat until a friend guided me in a method to make ABF look like Buu while retaining all the functionality of ABF. Thought I'd write this up to help out any new Pitbullers.

    How
    Our goal here is to create a tall frame, 3d portrait, bottom placed power and health bars, as well as bottom placed auras. All using the ABF layout.

    1) Choose the abf layout.
    Shift click frame --> Other --> Layout --> CHECK Abf
    2) Choose dimensions.
    Shift click frame --> Other --> Size --> Height: 160, Scale: 100%, Width: 130
    3) Enable and configure Portrait
    Shift click frame --> Other --> Portrait --> CHECK "Enable portrait", Height: 8, Position: Portrait, Side: Center, Style: 3d.
    4) Configure bars.
    Shift click frame --> Bars --> Health Bar --> Height: 2, Position: Health bar
    Shift click frame --> Bars --> Power Bar --> Height: 1, Position: Power bar
    *NOTE: If you'd like a little more control over your bar heights, set your Portrait height to be a greater value then adjust your Health bar and Power bar accordingly.
    5) Configure auras (to place them below)
    Shift click frame --> Other --> Auras --> Enable --> CHECK Buffs & Debuffs
    Shift click frame --> Other --> Auras --> Buff Size --> 17 (or something similarly small)
    Shift click frame --> Other --> Auras --> Side --> Bottom

    Hope this helps!
    That should just about do it to get a general style almost identical to Buu using ABF. Of course, configure your texts and other goodies anyway you want. This layout is almost perfect but I wish I could go below size 1 on the power bar to emphasize the health bar a bit more. No biggie and I understand why it does that (this is a TALL uf for a layout that is supposed to be horizontal!). [*FIXED! Thanks OttoDeFe. See reply below.]

    Thanks to Keisjaa who showed me this and I hope this helps all those people who are diving into Pitbull these days. To see how I fit this into a 10 man raid, check out the 100% Ace2 screenshot.

    Commenting out the Buu auras code and then switching to ABF layout, adjusting the auras there, then switching back to Buu works like a charm :) Thanks for the tip. Screenshots incoming :)

    My initial reason for posting this thread was for a clarification on how to "stick" different anchor points of a layout to other anchor points. I basically just used the method that i think oBF used for sticking buffs/debuffs to the bottom frame. Looked like this:

    auraFrame = function(unit,frame)
    		local width = frame:GetWidth()
    		frame.auraFrame:SetWidth(width)
    		frame.auraFrame:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", frame, "BOTTOMLEFT", 0, -4)
    		frame.auraFrame:SetPoint("TOPRIGHT", frame, "BOTTOMRIGHT", 0, -4)

    	end,

    I THINK (oh god i'm a serious nub, please go easy on me) this is stating "Stick the TOPLEFT point of the auras area to the bottom left of the main frame. Now stick the TOPRIGHT point of the auras area to the bottom right point of the main frame. With the width of the auras frame being the width of the unit frame."

    I'm guessing to make your auras (both debuffs and buffs, i dont' know how to separate either yet) stick to the right side by something like this:

    frame.auraFrame:SetPoint("TOPLEFT", frame, "TOPRIGHT", 0, 0)
    frame.auraFrame:SetPoint("BOTTOMLEFT", frame, "BOTTOMRIGHT", 0,0)

    I THINK. I'm really not sure what each argument stands for yet. Hence the post, lol. But that's what I've fuddled through blindly so far.

    You will be placing the Buu frames (I'm assuming party) vertically then?

    Yes, it should take different heights and widths into consideration. I have "scale" enabled and i really like to see the debuffs on a target, and since the layout is so skinny, I only have 5 auras shown per line.

    Just fiddlin' with it and this is what I came up with. Attached is Buu with the auras pushed to the bottom. See the SS for an example of what it looks like. Might help some folks until the layouts get a little more polished. Feel free to fix that Buu.lua file if you see something ugly in it, I am no coder!

    Can we get a Curse of Weakness up there instead of Recklessnes :) Or, in addition ? Or I could just do it myself cuz the code looks really easy. Thank you again for a great mod.

    Hello,

    I'd like to write my own layout for Pitbull / dress up Buu and I'd like a quick primer on the functions and format. Any quick links specific to layout creation?

    Thank you, loving it so far :)

    Herro,

    You might be inspired by a similar mod out to help with Gruul positions:

    http://wow-en.curse-gaming.com/downloads/details/7914/

    And, yes, as raid leader I'd KILL for a better way to assign click assignments in Mag. We too use a series of macros shouts, as well as a "double up" technique where TWO people click (only one actually activates). It's a good method of redundancy to make up for deaths and lag and other raid plagues.
