posted a message on MagicMarker - Raid Icon Marking made simple
Seeing a strange thing in low-level instances where it marks anything I target, whether my targeting meta key is down or not. Very annoying.

    Anyone else seeing that?

    This is an interesting addon.

Question: What are you going to use it for?

Most addons are written to solve a problem the author is experiencing. You might want to list on the CF page docs, some content that shows what people might use it for.

I know that disabling Assessment fixed these errors for me. It annoys me that a client of a library can crash the library and all other clients.

Does anyone have any thoughts on why the Omen default profile is 'char' instead of 'Default'?

It makes packaging a UI that has Omen next to impossible.

I was under the impression that the best practice for Ace authors was to always code to 'Default' and let the user reclassify it as needed.

For now, I've just tweaked my update script to change this line:

    Omen:RegisterDB("OmenDB", "OmenDBPC", "char")

    to this line:

    Omen:RegisterDB("OmenDB", "OmenDBPC", "Default")

Sure would be nice if someone changed this in the trunk. As it stands, you can't actually ship a named profile (e.g. Default) with positioning information in it and then let people use it. Since it is set to 'char', when they login with a new toon, Omen is back in it's as-coded position and skin. They can switch it to 'Default', but it doesn't seem to actually adopt the positions and settings in Default, instead opting to replace the Default profile with the as-coded defaults.

Not sure all that makes sense, but once again this blows from a collection packaging perspective and from the perspective of someone who has a lot of toons on a lot of realms.

Note that each bar has a "lock text alpha" checkbox under the Text Settings for both the upper and lower texts to keep them at 100% at all times. Since I added those options, any old configuration of locking or not locking text alpha would have been un-set. That's probably where your problem is coming from.

Yeah, I just found it and was coming back to post a "never mind" reply. LOL

Something else that changed since those new updates is this...

Unless I'm in combat or not full-up, I have my hud alpha set to zero (fully transparent). With this new version the bars go away as expected, but the numerics at the bottom don't, nor do the new icons.

    :(

My opinion is that I don't like IDE's because they generally promote neglecting to learn the environment yourself, thereby making less actual spelling/etc errors but more logic errors. This is my experience with IDE's.

Blame the tool for someone being an idiot? Interesting choice. LOL

Personally I use VIM, but that is certainly a power tool and not a simple text editor. YMMV

Speaking of "delayed" mode. I've been thinking that we should strive to have any addon that doesn't actually require to be loaded at the startup use this setting.

What do you think? I know I sure would like it if my loading screen went faster, even if that meant a little bit of a stall later once I got into the game. At least I'd be in the game.
