Now that everything is been clarified, I'd like to restate my request.

Please add an option to RE-Enable gloss on empty buttons.
(Because some skins DO look silly without it).

I see what you mean talking about the no-gloss. However, it is working as I have previously described for Bartender.

Right now, on Bartender, if I do not have a skill on a key, the gloss does not appear. Whereas any buttons that do have skills on them, have gloss.

I can post Screenshots if it helps, though I realize now that you've described it that this may be a problem with the skin? At any rate it wasn't doing that before. Sorry for the previous misunderstanding!

(The skin I'm using is Darion Clean if is of any use to you).

The no gloss on unused buttons is a nice idea, but there should be a way to disable it. I have many buttons created around my screen and it doesn't look right when some of them are just plain flat without the gloss, while others have it, (also it doesn't seem to be working right with ButtonForge, all of those buttons still have gloss without anything in them, so I redid all of my bars into ButtonForge bars for now).

2nd, the global option for including text in the addon is gone, and the text (at least for the skin I'm using) is aaaaaall screwy. The macro labels appear below the key (off the screen for me) and the hotkey labels are appearing above the key, instead of inside the key at their respective locations. If you have a bar directly on top of another bar, like Blizzard's default layout, the hotkey label of the key below a button appears inside the button of the bar above it, which makes it really confusing.

In short, I'd like a global option to turn on gloss appearing on empty keys, and the restoration of the option to disable text modification for the addon.

    Thanks for the awesome work!
