posted a message on A PvP "Bossmods"
I would've posted a new thread about this, but this seems like the perfect thread.

While browsing the EJ forum someone posted this video asking what mod was showing when i.e. the shaman starts casting Lesser Healing Wave and other interesting info.

It looks like Antagonist sending info to Parrot, but I'm pretty sure Antagonist doesn't have that feature.

(Antagonist is basically WitchHunt with bars instead of text and an option to filter (meaning it only shows interesting stuff). Parrot is a Scrolling Combat Log mod.)

You can post your suggestion here: http://jira.wowace.com/secure/CreateIssue.jspa?pid=10026

Can't say I'd use the mod, but I think it's a good idea. Perhaps instead of recoloring it'd just make the bar slightly red (if IC), so you can still see what class it is or if it is an npc.

posted a message on [Solved] RangeCheck duplicate
I tried another approach on the problem and solved it. Instead of creating a new RangeCheck I've changed the original slightly.

    From line 108:
    function PitBull_RangeCheck:RangeCheck()
    	local opacity = self.db.profile.opacity
for unit, frame in PitBull:IterateUnitFrames() do
if frame:IsVisible() and not self.db.profile.groups[frame.group].ignore then
    			if distanceCheckFunction(unit) then
    				if distanceCheckFunctionLow then
    					if distanceCheckFunctionLow( unit ) then
    						frame:SetAlpha(1)
    					else
    						local num = unit:match("^raid(%d%d?)$") --
    						if num then --
    							frame:SetAlpha(0.2+(1-0.2)/2) --
    						else --
    							frame:SetAlpha(opacity+(1-opacity)/2)
    						end --
    					end
    				else
    					frame:SetAlpha(1)
    				end
    			else
    				local numm = unit:match("^raid(%d%d?)$") --
    				if numm then --
    					frame:SetAlpha(0.2) --
    				else --
    					frame:SetAlpha(opacity)
    				end --
    			end
    		end
    	end
    end

    What I added = --

If you want to change the opacity of the raid frames out of range you can change the 0.2 (1.0 = 100%).

posted a message on [Solved] RangeCheck duplicate
I've tried duplicating Pitbull_RangeCheck so I can choose different alpha values on party/raid unitframes.

This is how I did it (but failed):

    • Copy+Paste folder and rename it Pitbull_RangeCheck_Alt
    • Added _Alt in the end of the lua and toc inside.
    • Added _Alt to "RangeCheck.lua" inside toc to match the new file name. (Also changed some of the info in the file, but doubt it'll make any difference.)
    • In the lua file I basically added _Alt to all "RangeCheck".

I looked for some global values to change, but couldn't find any I hadn't already changed (but I'm no pro coder). Should I be looking for something else too?

Btw running the mod causes the real RangeCheck to stop functioning. Also it can't be turned on in the Modules menu of Pitbull. Actually it doesn't even work if run alone (without the real one).

    Thanks

    Quote from Grayhoof »

All of PitBull's features require one of the in games units to function and to be able to show things such as portraits, buffs, cast bars, etc...these are all things Proximo cannot use or provide. PitBull might could be modified to use the data Proximo can provide, but then you'd end up with a unit frame that looks almost exactly like what Proximo already provides.

I don't know how oRA2 works, but I'm guessing it picks up data from anyone target/focus/mouseover-ing the main tank. Which is some of what Proximo does. Proximo's unitframes can look a lot like PB's, but in some cases can't - like in my UI.

Btw you don't have to use PitBull - any UF addon would be cool. I just suggested it because I'm - obviously - using it myself.

Also, whatever you choose to do: Thanks for a great addon :)

I don't want to install PitBull just for using Proximo ... I already have too many installed addons.

I see your point and agree that it would be silly if PB was a necessity to run Proximo.
    Quote from Seerah »

    oRA2 doesn't "use" PitBull. PitBull "uses" oRA2/CTRA/etc.

Interesting, I did not know that. Perhaps PitBull could "use" Proximo then? (In a non-sexual way)

    What do you think, Grayhoof?

I have a suggestion: use PitBull unitframes. It's been done before with oRA2, so why not Proximo? It seems like an obvious choice.
I can imagine it'll be hard to start using other unitframes (if your own are hardcoded into Prox), but in the long run I think it'd be worth it since PB will do half the work for you. Also, it'd give the user more flexibility when designing their UI - pretty portraits, DogTags and all the awesome stuff PB offers.

Any chance that squeenix will be updated to hide (or move) the new tracking button?

And also the new Audio button and perhaps LFG.

    You hook the OnShow/OnHide events.

    Thanks Elvis.

If anyone else needs to change the level of the BattlefieldMinimap aka. BattleMap send a pm - I'm still working on how many layers that need a level change (it seems to be quite a lot).

    Quote from Ajuga »

Is there any way to run some code when a panel is Shown or Hidden? Or when BattlefieldMinimap is Shown or Hidden? I'm having problems with the level of my BattlefieldMinimap vs. panels (again).

I use this code to fix it: BattlefieldMinimap:SetFrameLevel(3) to put it on top of my panels. But the code runs before the map is even there, so the level is not changed.

posted a message on [PitBull] 2d portrait - squared possible?
I know there are addons out there that can modify a 3D portrait to ones liking, but can they modify the 2D version too?
Perhaps this is possible with a simple hack in PitBull_Portrait/Portrait.lua ?

posted a message on [PitBull] 2d portrait - squared possible?
Describing this would be too difficult, so I made a pic:

Is it possible to do something like that?

(You may ask why I want to do this, so here's the answer: I like seeing what my target looks like easily to find out what class and race it is. IMO 2d does the job better than 3d - yet it looks horrible with the circle 2d portrait on a squared background.)

SilverKnight: Just before I saw your post I somehow found it for my Player frame. But I can't find it again. You can still change the border of all frames in All units > Other however.

Ajuga, during your battlefield map frenzy I don't suppose you happened to manage to get a panel script to resize a panel along with the battlefield minimap did you?

For the life of me I can't seem to get it to actually work properly.

I've parented a couple of panels to "BattlefieldMinimap" and that seems to work. Of course remember to set a % value.
To set the scale of the map use Capping (as I am) or try BattlefieldMinimap:SetScale(#) - I have no idea if it works =)

    Btw here's how it looks
