well i found those instances of the variables but all the variations i have tried did not work. im stumped. anyone else got any ideas? got the slider working... but still got 1 error

    current error is

[string "MusicStreamPlayer_Volume:OnShow"]:2: attempt to call method 'Get_EnableMusic' (a nil value)
    Count: 1

    Call Stack:
    [C]: in function `Get_EnableMusic'
    [string "*:OnShow"]:2: in function <[string "*:OnShow"]:1>

edit: if you want a full copy of my current version where everything but that one error is fixed it is now linked below. still trying to solve this one though.

since the file is so large i can not upload it on the forums.
i have posted it at curse at the folowing link

so far i got everything working but the volume slider. i still get error messages like below but all of my songs play, all the buttons do what they are supposed to (inclucing Next and Previous). while i admit that i am not the greatest at coding i am learning more. if anyone knows where to go to fix the following codes please let me know and i will change them. but as of now i will attatch a copy of what i have working. if it doesnt work for you please let me know there may be some other variables i missed or some mod on your end that are affecting it.

[string "*:OnValueChanged"]:1: Couldn't find CVar named 'MusicVolume'
    Count: 4

    Call Stack:
    [C]: ?
    [C]: in function `SetCVar'
    [string "*:OnValueChanged"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnValueChanged"]:1>

[string "*:OnShow"]:1: Couldn't find CVar named 'MusicVolume'
    Count: 1

    Call Stack:
    [C]: ?
    [C]: in function `GetCVar'
    [string "*:OnShow"]:1: in function <[string "*:OnShow"]:1>

to use the zip i attatch simple place the folder modules in the folder c:\program files\world of warcraft\interface\addons\musicstream of course this is assuming that you have the game installed in a default location.

I guess the error is in line 456 of the .lua file that gets new music or something, but I have no idea how to fix it.

The addons I have I'll post them once only, just in case it's a compatibility issue.

The second error I'm having is:

    Date: 2007-09-25 18:48:21
    ID: 52
    Error occured in: Global
    Count: 1
    Message: [string "*:OnShow"] line 1:
    Couldn't find CVar named 'MusicVolume'
    Debug:
    [C]: ?
    [C]: GetCVar()
    [string "*:OnShow"]:1:
    [string "*:OnShow"]:1

And the little "knob" that controls the volume bar is missing, and when I click the volume bar anywhere it gives the error aswell.

Also, when a song stops playing, the next song's name is displayed in the screen, and it also changes the name in the MusicStream player, but it doesn't change the actual sound. It only changes if I hit the next/previous button, it doesn't change alone.

For example, say I'm listening to Aerosmith's Pink, when it finishes, say my next song is armaggedon's soundtrack, and it displays the name of the song in the screen, it changes the name in the player, BUT it plays Pink again. It does that with all songs, and the songs are ok, it's some kind of bug in the player. Worse of all it doesn't give an error report. So I have to click next song button, and it loads a new random song, and I have to hit previous to hear armaggedon's sound track (because I skipped the bugged armagedon song).

not steping on any developers toes but i been posting on the wow forums to get answers to fix some stuff on my end and find out whats wrong, so far this is what i have found out

    instances of
EnableMusic should be edited in the lua to be Sound_EnableMusic
SetCVar should be edited in the lua to be Sound_SetCVar

and so forth. still working on it on my end but cant figure out where to fix parts like
    [string "*:OnShow"] line 1:
    Couldn't find CVar named 'MusicVolume'
    Debug:
    [C]: ?
    [C]: GetCVar()
    [string "*:OnShow"]:1:
    [string "*:OnShow"]:1
which dont point to any specific file to look in to make changes, about to go into all files and look for these type variables to replace and see if it works.

You have some ID3 tags for your music files that don't have all the required fields. Take a look in the MyMusic file and see which ones are missing info.

Typing by stylus - I'll answer more completely when i get home.

ok, guess i will look at them and see, whats the easiest way to add some info to the tags?

update: upon further experimentation i have another quest that is gray and it shows up, however i think i have an idea why it might be messed up.

i have 24/25 quest in my log.
    it spans 10 different zones.
only the top 15 quest in my log will show up in the tracker.
the cut off point is also the start of the 7th zone.
if i close them from top to bottom 1 at a time, more will show up until i close the 7th and all of them close at the same time to give an empty tracker.

not sure if its a bug or an option i didn't know about but im lvl 70 and working on an old rep grind. the quest lvl is 60, so its a gray quest, and i cant get the tracker to actually show it. when i close all other zones it doesnt show up, when i open all zones it doesnt show up. not sure what i need to do.

I got another issue here, I like to move the tracker to the left side of screen. However, when I open character window and try to move the mouse over the helm, necklace, or should ect, the quest tooltips keeps come up. This prevents me from checking the equipment properties. Seems the tracker tooltips has a high Frame Strata which is should not be.

i admit i dont know what he means by frame strata but i have the same issue with the tooltips for the quest tracker showing up while other frames are open above it.

and i also have the same issue with the quest completion report, when any single event is completed, even if the full quest set is not finished it reports that the entire thing is finished and place the quest complete audio that its set to play

just an idea for the tracker, can you add a way to change the transparency of the background? i like the way it is now but sometimes i would like to make it slightly more transparent. no big deal though, its just an idea.
