I take the Version Information from either a ReadMe File or the Toc File. So if the Author or a Mod doesn't update them, it will show the wrong version.
@UFl2k: I need some more Information about the crashes you have (error Message, Screenshot, What you did etc.).
Also double check your curse/wowace Credentials! I don't detect (by now) if they are correct or not. If they aren't you just see the "Download Link incorrect" in the Log.
@Frnit: You know, I first need something running with as much displayed Information as possible. I will optimice, beautify and maybe reduce the Interface a bit in future versions.

Oct 17, 2008Now that is strange.Posted in: Updaters
Try this Link then:
and set your "Mapping File" Setting to:
or download it and set it to your downloaded File.
Oct 17, 2008Posted in: UpdatersQuote from gi2k15Getting "page not found" error when trying to download the latest version.
Go and check the Settings for the "Mapping File". What is there?
@Frnit: I'm a developer, not a graphic designer ;) But if you have ideas to make it "nicer" just tell me.
And Version checking is something I'm working on right now (and selecting from which site you want to update). I'll also implement the "Last updated" Date soon.
Oct 17, 2008I have an Alpha Version ready!Posted in: Updaters
Most important Changes:
- Supports Curse/WowAce Login
- Filtering for Addons
- Gets the Mappings from a Mappings File from the Web (you can Download it and set the Path in the Settings to your local file)
- Added many Mappings
- Use own config file (in the App Folder)
- Fixed some crashes.
Feel free to test it. Here's the Link:
Edit: I still recommend using the right mouse Button to update individual Addons, not using the "Update All" Function!
Oct 14, 2008rolfba, I included Login with my Updater (iUpdate (WADDU)) already. It is quite easy you just need to save the cookies and pass them around. If you need help with Cookies/HTML Request/Response just send me a PM or "sniff" the traffic while logging in for yourself.Posted in: Updaters
Oct 14, 2008Important News:Posted in: Updaters
CourseForge and WoWace now needs someone to be logged in to download the Files.
I implemented the login Mechanism into my Updater!!! So my Updater is still able to download from CurseForge and WoWAce ;)
All you need is an Account there and put your login/password into the Updater.
I will release a new Alpha within this week with this Mechanism and a "Mapping" File on the Web so you immediately get new Mappings.
Oct 13, 2008Posted in: UpdatersQuote from septorWhy not host the XML "database" file on a website and have users pull from there? That way you don't need to release a new version for everyone to have the supported addons.
That's what I was thinking, too and already prepared in my dev Version.
Oct 13, 2008Posted in: UpdatersQuote from GaillyWhats the reason behind putting the mappings.xml on c:\?
That it's an alpha as someone mentioned before ;) Is fixed in my dev-Version.
@cM2003: Thanks for the Screenshot, will add them as soon as possible.
@billy20: Localizing may be implemented but not in alpha-stage
@OrionShock: I sent you a PM:
Oct 12, 2008Ok I do have a pre-pre Alpha ready (which updates all my Mods).Posted in: Updaters
I suggest you only use the right-click context menu on the Addons instead of the update all.
It does by default move all your files to trash bevore updating. So you can take them out if something went wrong.
It will create a mappings.xml in c:\ And a config file in your user folder. It's a pre-alpha so don't expect too much and I'm still missing many many "mappings" for all the other addons I don't use.
Feel free to comment.
Here's the Download Link:
Oct 11, 2008It uses very basic commands from .Net 2.0. It should also be possible to port the Logic to Java if someone wants to.Posted in: Updaters
The status looks quite good. I renamed it from WADDU to iUpdate.
It can now update from curse, curseforge and wowace. Wowui und wowinterface do almost work (needs some testing)
What I now need are so called "mappings". As you guys know, Addons on wowinterface and wowui have an id (Atlas for example is 400 on wowui). And Addons on curse, curseforge and wowace have names (QuestHelper for example has quest-helper).
It would be great if you guys here could make a list with Addons you have (the Folder Name!) and the Site, they are from and the ID or Name they have on the site (just check their url) and send them to me.
So for example:
QuestHelper, quest-helper, curse
Grid, grid, wowace
Atlas, 400, wowui
If my list is a bit bigger and I testet it a bit more I will release the first Alpha within next week!
Oct 9, 2008Not here yet, I hope to have something ready by tomorrow to download.Posted in: Updaters
Most important thing for the first alpha is, that nothing gets deleted immediately and the user can exactly see what is going on (in the Log).
Oct 9, 2008Since I really loved WAU, and all other Updaters are missing some functions I need (e.G. move to Trash instead of delete) or don't even work, I decided to write my own Updater.Posted in: Updaters
It's a pure C# and .Net Application.
- Open Source
- Auto-Updating from all major WoW Addon Sites
- Check multiple Sites for an Addon and take the newest
- Use configurable Threads for Updating
- Move to Recycle-Bin Option!
- Automatically detect related SubAddons
- Handle special Addons (like CT_Mod or Atlas from it's own Site)
Feel free to post bugs, ideas or code at the GitHub page.
Newest Release (17.03.2016):
- Alpha 6 Maintenance Release 17
GitHub Mirror 1
If you got problems, try running it in Admin-Mode (moving Files from Temp to the WoW Folder in Program Files may give an Error without Admin-Mode).
