I've never cared if people update my mods on the SVN. They can even take them over if they want. I just got around to start working on fixes for autoturnin and minimalist so I'm glad people are already fixing up Postal.
My only request is that if you want to add functionality, you PM me. If you want to take it a mod over for a while to redo a big change, put your own name in the toc file clearly so people can send you PMs.

Sep 26, 2007On memory issues, this is a very very very very very simple mod. It shouldn't even be doing anything unless you make a modified click or open a trade frame. I'm not sure what could be causing your memory numbers to look like this. There may be an "ace" mod loaded before it, but that mod may not be invoking the same libraries.Posted in: General AddOns

I'd fix it, but last time I tried messing around with my local SVN repos my access was broken.

I understand. I don't mind so much hitting the button over and over again but I still have to listen to my husband complain about it. He doesn't like it. Heh.
It depends on your server as well. Before 3pm on my server I can snarf every message. I only get skips as it gets near peak.

It's a little annoying to have to keep click the "Open All" button to open all my mails in my mailbox
Yes, I agree. Surely there's a better way?
You can have it be fast and skippy or slow and thorough. When CT_Mailmod or GMail ran into sync issues with the mail server, you ran into the wonderful "internal mail database" errors and they would parse incompletely.
I am working on fine tuning the reverse parse some more, but really its the method least likely to generate mail errors as it is.
If you have ever worked with the guild management interface, then you will understand why writing mods to it are pointless. The underlying system is broken inherently.
The quick answer is, I can add a loop that would have it reparse until the number of inbox items is zero. Heres the fun part, GetNumInboxItems will return 1 for several seconds after the last message is deleted. I would rather not put in a 5 second pause before checking and started another loop just to make sure it gets everything.

When Inventoru full, I click Open All. getting error

Line 158 in Select.lua
change self.core:Print(L["Skipping"].." "..selectedMail[toProcess]..": ".."COD") to self.core:Print(L["Skipping"].." "..selectedMail[toProcess]..": "..L["COD"])
Fixed the localization. Ill have to try replicating the COD behavior when I get logged in.

is there a bulkmail function with an easy-ui like ct_mailmod?
the ui of mod bulkmail i doesn't like. is there a clone of the ct_mailmod bulkmailsend ui at ace?
The ct_mailmod bulksend UI is a nightmare. If I implemented a bulksend gui it would be basically bulkmail-lite that does no pt3 categorical sending or other advanced options but would look much the same.

Is there plans to look into the Block Trades problem where it keeps all trades blocked even after done with mail?
I rewrote this module today, will commit it when I get home from work. Its a much cleaner/simpler implementation of tradeblock for mail. I also make it disable if you have Lexan loaded.

Is there a way to enable / disable Postal modules in game? I like Postal to disable the BlackBook module with e.g. a toggle command (/postal modules blackbook) that switches between on and off and saves this setting (I'd prefer globally) after logout. ATM I have to disable the function by editing the line #Modules\BlackBook.lua in the Postal.toc file and doing that with every (future) update.. Mh, not so nice.
Ill look at it. At least into adding a dewdrop menu for the options even if I don't want to setup a cli.
Jun 8, 2007I am back working on Postal. The Open All function was just rewritten and I think you will be pleased with its performance. I shared this idea with hyperChipmunk and its also in BulkMail2. Whichever mod you use, its the best way we've found of doing Open All.Posted in: General AddOns
If you use both mods and have problem with them stepping on each other, let me know and Ill add exceptions. I am a bulkmail user as well.

i think a meeting of the minds is inc!
As Do I. I think they ought to Merge them and work on 1 Complete Mail Addon!
Otherwise I might go Postal on the Postman! LOL.
I don't see the need for this. Blackbook is a better paradigm than Mailto: in my opinion. I've been looking at mail tracking and I am not really happy with how Mailto did that either. Something like a minimap icon that displays a tablet with your current mails tracked in it is better than chat window spam in my opinion.
Most of this is moot until I get burned out grinding my heroic keys. Anyone is free to write a tracking module for Postal though. Its a pretty open system.
I want to do things differently and better which is why I started writing Postal after my dissatisfaction with GMail (being a CT_Mailmod port). I think the Mailto designs can be re-implemented better (like Blackbook) rather than just rewritten in ace.
This takes work though, the reason there isn't a bulkmail UI is because figuring out a better way to do it is harder than re-writing an existing way of doing things.
The last stab I was working on for a bulkmail UI was just opening a tablet displaying a list of the items with counts you were alt-clicking on. The idea was to discourage an interactive GUI. I think its a good idea and Ill get back to work on it once I'm done getting some BC keying goals met. Of course, the postal module system makes it where anyone else could take their own stab at it as well.
Here is the vision for this:
If user opens the sendmail frame and has the module enabled and alt clicks an item, an entry is added to a table of items to be sent and a tablet is only opened then (no screen clutter until the user says so) displaying the table with Clear, Send, Stop links.
Clear of course clears the table. Send registers the mail sent event and sets a counter. When mail sent occurs it processes the next mail in the counter. Stop would be clear+unregistering mail sent if its registered.
This is actually not that complex of a module, it just needs time I don't have right now. It would also need to add a function to the PostalLib for IsItemMailable that can be shared with other modules probably.
