If I merge my pet data, can violation merge my water elemental yet. I heard that elemental from magi and shamans aren't supported yet, but I don't know how old that information is.

From my understanding (and it's a bit hard to follow so I apologize if this is wrong), Violation parses your Water Elemental's damage from your events, not your combat log. So if you're running Violation, your damage will include your Water Elemental's damage by default. Where I'm a bit fuzzy is how your damage is broadcast to other Violation users. I think at one point, your merged damage was broadcast. I'm not sure if that's still the case of if your pet is broadcast separately.

I'm also not sure how you will record another Mage's Water Elemental if Mage2 is *not* running Violation. Since he's not running Violation, there is nothing capturing his pet events and therefore you would have to rely on the combat log. At this point, I'm not sure if Mage2's Water Elemental is completely ignored, if Violation has some way to merge this damage to Mage2, or if this damage is just tracked independently.

If both Mage's are using Violation, your meter will display merged damage for both Mages and should be 100% accurate. As far as I know, this is the only Ace Damage Meter that uses events to track anonymous pet damage and merge it with their master.

Apologies for my continued pestering regarding pet damage, but I'd love to hear a response to this question. Some clarification would be great. Thank you and keep up the great work on a terrific AddOn.

posted a message on DKP - what do you use?
I'm just curious what the Ace community is using to track DKP both in-game and on the Web.

I have added pet broadcasting to violation. This required quite a change. Please test :)

    -Ammo

I haven't had a chance to play around with this; what exactly does this mean? Does it mean that the "merge pet" option can be applied to non-unique named pets now (like Water Elementals)? From my understanding, if a pet owner was using Violation, his pet's damage was captured through chat events and added to his damage before broadcasting. Is this still how it works?

Can someone explain what will happen if two Frost Mages summon a Water Elemental at the same time? Do they both need Violation installed to get accurate data? If Mage 2 does not have Violation installed, how will that affect Mage 1's view of Mage 2's damage (does Water Elemental 2 get applied to Mage 2 or does it get listed as a separate entity in the list or does it get ignored completely)?

Thanks in advance - love this AddOn.

Are pets being synced or am I just missing the option? Also, I read some of the stuff and I can't understand if it syncs data or not, any clarification?

I believe pet data is merged by default without the ability to toggle. You can, however, display pet information separately in the main window. Doing this is kind of misleading because the pet's damage is shown twice, once on its own and once as part of its owner's damage. These are my observations with a non-unique named pet (water elemental) while solo. I'm not sure what happens if two, non-unique named pets are in the same group; I haven't been in a situation to test that yet.

If I wish to use Violation as my threat meter, will I be able to publish my threat to KTM users? I know Threat-1.0 has an option for this, but I don't know how to toggle it on/off within Violation. Same goes for reading KTM data.

I know I've seen a screenshot of the pull-out bar, but I can't seem to locate it. Can someone point me in the right direction or provide a screenshot here? I'm trying to explain what it looks like, but a picture would do it better justice. Thanks.

Pet merging has already been added.

What's the status on Recount's ability to attribute non-unique named pets (Water Elementals, Shadowfiends, etc.) to their owner? Is it still being merged with the first group member to summon it?

Maybe similar to how WWS works:

It's all perfectly possible, without even needing BigWigs. But the solution needs to be an elegant and efficient one. Data size is not much of a problem. Violation typically grows about 15kib during a 4 hour raid with multiple resets. So it's safe to assume total data collected is around 15kib. (this is with all modules running).

It's just fitting it all in the generic scheme of things in the best possible way. I could hack in the historical data in probably 15 mins or less, but that wouldn't make it a pretty solution.

I know you're referring to "elegant" in terms of a coding solution, but from a user-interface perspective, I believe WWS (http://www.lossendil.com/wws/) does this really well. WWS supplies a drop-down list consisting of a "full report", "trash mobs", and a report for each boss try/kill. Here's a screenshot from one of my reports:

Are there any plans to add a DPS list to the set of main windows? I realize I can see the DPS using the graphs, but I would like a nice, easy-to-read, ranked list of DPS. Possibly even two different DPS lists. One based on the individual's combat time (like Violation) and one based on the group's combat time (like DamageMeters).

Not sure if it's related, but I posted something similar in the ThreatLib-1.0 thread. If I had the Omen option "publish to KTM" checked, I would not get threat in Omen, Violation, or Recount. If it was unchecked, all three appeared to work fine. I have KTM installed as well.
