Support for X-Perl unit frames added. I personally don't use X-Perl, so if I missed any of the unit frames, or you notice any problems, please let me know.

Another thing now. And please feel free to tell me to shut up and go away. This is more of a wish-list thing. When you assign spells to buttons it correctly records which rank you asked it to assign. However the tooltip always shows the latest rank known. Would it be possible to show the correct rank of the assigned spell?

There is a drop-down list on the action set tab in the configuration dialog. The drop-down list shows the available ranks, and should have the "selected" rank as the current selection in the drop-down. Make sure this is showing the non-max rank that you selected correctly. If it is not, select the rank you want, and see if the tooltip changes appropriately.

I'll do some experimentation, and see whether the drop-down is already showing the correct rank, but the tooltip is always showing the max. If the tooltip is off, I'll fix it up.

Nothing you were doing wrong. I put in an invalid external library reference. files.wowace.com should pick up the fix shortly (and WAU as well).

This made me think and I think I've got when it does it. If it is a general macro it will display the icon properly. If it is a character specific one it won't. As all the macros I was trying were under the char specific tab it wasn't working properly. Hope this helps. Let me know if there's an easy fix and if not I guess I'll just move them to general.

New version uploaded with this problem fixed. Was missing a check for per-character macros in a few places.

To be more precise what I need to do each time I startup is I have to go into the settings for the action set/activator and tick and untick the "independant show/hide" option for the unit group buttons to stay open concurrently with each other. If I don't do that when I use the same activator over another unit group it closes the first one with opening the second. I will try and go through all the menus again as well and see if I'm missing something. I don't know if this makes any sense. If there is a file I can send you that will show you how I have it setup let me know.

The "independent show/hide" option can be applied at a couple levels. Setting it for an activator allows the buttons for that activator to stay open when buttons for another activator are also open. Setting it for a specific unit group for an activator ("Unit Group show/hide" option for the specific activator) allows you to have the buttons for the activator stay open for a specific unit group while also open for another unit group. That is, by selecting "Player" you could open the activator for the player unit frame and the "target" unit frame. If you tried to open in on the "target" unit frame, and then on someone in your party (or in the raid), the buttons on the target would close when you opened them on the party/raid.

    Hope this helps

You can send the UnitActionBars2.lua file to the e-mail listed in the mod (zunoalbatross@gmail.com). This file is in the WTF/Account/<Your account name>/SavedVariables directory under your WoW installation directory.

That might very well be what is causing it. I'll take a look and see if I can reproduce it trying the char-specific macros.

Yeah, probably some value not being saved. I'll take a look.

    Thanks, Zuno!

I noticed this today as well. I can get directly to the most recent zip, but I don't see it on the main add-on listing. Not sure what's up.

No worries, mate, there wasn't a real rush. Issue fixed now so thank you very much. I do have a couple of other questions however. But they are non-urgent as well, so whenever you can.

Is it normal not to display icons when putting macros onto buttons?

I have not seen this. I have macros associated with UAB buttons, and the macro icon shows up for me. If you have any more details on when this happens, that probably will help me track down what is causing it.

Why is it that every time the UI loads up (logon or /reloadui) I need to manually remind UAB that I want all button sets to remain open concurrently even though I have specified this in the settings?

Probably a missing initialization somewhere. I'll take a look to see if I can find out what isn't being set up, and where. The "stay open" settings, and the "independent show/hide" settings should be saved for each unit group, action set, frame group, and activator.

On UI start-up it displays the following: "Unable to find position information for index (22) of 'UAB.bar_main' for frame 'UAB_ActionButton_23_0_1_1_22'" and also "Unable to find position information for index (23) of 'UAB.bar_main' for frame 'UAB_ActionButton_23_0_1_1_23'".

I have also selected in the configuration to open the set on startup and this isn't happening so I'm guessing it may have something to do with the previous issue.

The "open on startup" plug-in seems to work for some action sets/activators, and not for others. I have seen this as well, though have been unable to narrow it down to fix it yet. This might be related to the messages you are seeing on startup as well, though I need to track it down a bit to be sure.

Sorry about all these and again apologies if any of them seem like stupid questions to you.

No problem, thanks for asking, and I hope the answers (now or in the future) help.

Is there a way for the Unit Action buttons to just stay open all the time on the Unit bar instead of having to use an activator key combination?

I just want to see the same Action sets on my party and click what I need when I want without having to first use my activator key sequence.

There is an "Activators" UAB2 plug-in that allows UAB buttons to be opened at startup (without using an activator key sequence) but there are some issues still with this plug-in sometimes not working. Give it a try, and see if it solves your situation.

You can also configure each set of buttons to "stay open" so that they do not disappear when clicked (you have to click the "cancel" button to make them disappear).

Keep in mind that there is a set of buttons (per action set+activator combination) that are shared for each frame type. That is, there is just one set of buttons shared by all party frames, a different set of buttons for the target frame, and so on. If you want to have the buttons shown for all party frames, you would need to associate the action set with many activators, then open the buttons on each party frame.

Having a strange problem with Pitbull Party frames strata - the UnitActionBar is behind the Party and Party-Pet frames - no problems with Pitbull Player and Target frames. Any idea to resolve this issue?

    Thx in advance!

I believe the Pitbull frames now have an option to adjust the strata, so check there as well. One thing I've noticed is that when a party member (or the unit associated with any frame) is out of range, the UAB buttons show up with lower alpha, and seem to be behind the unit frame. Not sure if this is what you are seeing of if it's something else.

I have seen the UAB buttons show up behind party frames in the past, but it has been a long time since I've seen this, and I believe I only saw it with UAB1, but not with UAB2. Never could figure out what was causing it there. Pitbull does some rather advanced things with frames and parenting that could cause some unusual behavior if I'm not handling things right, but most of those issues have been worked out for a while.

Hope this helps, but if not, or you can track down any more specific conditions where the buttons show up behind the frames, please let me know.

Hey, nice addon indeed! Was just trying to configure but seem to be beating me in one respect. Apologies in advance if this is a stupid question.

When I try to set offsets both in default and for specific units it returns an error in App.lua saying something along the lines of "553: unable to 'floor', expecting number, got nil". That is not the exact text but is what it said. I am guessing this is due to the fact that in the default setting both ver and hor offset are displaying no value at all, where I presume they should be displaying '0'. Can you tell me where I need to tinker to change the dafault setting in the files as I tried to find it but was unsuccessful. Or maybe just tired...

I posted an update today that should fix this problem. Sorry it took me a while to see this issue, and get an update. Work has been pretty hectic lately, so not much time to spend on the mod.

I'm trying your addon in place of Clique.

My toon is a druid and normally I assign righ-click to "Rejuvenation" and shift-right click to the standard blizzard right-click menu (to set pvp status, leave party, ecc.., inspect, eccc). How can I assign a click to open this menu ?

The "Configure" option on FuBar presents a dialog with 2 tabs: Activators and Action Sets. Define the actions you want to perform on the Action Sets tab, and associate the action sets with mouse key-clicks on the Activators tab.

UAB2 does not affect click combinations that are not assigned through the Activators tab (such as shift-right click as you describe above).

Uploaded a change to improve "stay open" performance issues. Also addressed some issues with buffs and missing buffs not affecting visual appearance correctly.

Another upload to further address stay open fps lag issues. Appeared in my testing to work a *lot* better. If you notice issues, please let me know what kind of actions you have (item, macro, spell) created. Any details will help.

    Enjoy :)

Looks like UnitActionBars2 is corrupting the shared debug options table with one of the uab.ClearTable(...args) calls.

Specifically the table returned by AceDebug:GetAceOptionsDataTable is being cleared. Since this data table is used by other addons it causes errors when using other addons. For example preventing the dewdrop/waterfall configuration of other addons using AceDebug.

I found disabling UnitActionBars2_Activate or changing ClearTable to do nothing worked around the problem.

Thanks for finding this Nayala. I've uploaded a change to resolve it (UnitActionBars2_Activate).
